♦ Chapter One ♦

[NOT EDITED]

I felt a warm ray of sunshine hit my face, making me groan. There was nothing I hated more than mornings. I opened my eyes slowly, grateful that today was a Saturday, but later only groaning in annoyance once again after remembering that it was my shift today.

I attempted to get up when something pulled me back down. I frowned, feeling an arm around my waist. Thinking it was Shaya, probably because she had a bad dream last night, I turned around and I nearly screamed at the sight in front of me. Not nearly, I actually did end up screaming.

The screams from my mouth hadn't even calmed down yet and I started trashing around, trying to get this unknown guy off my bed. He suddenly shot up, looked at me wide eyed, before calming down. Well, good for him, but he was about to get a goddamn baseball bat to his head now. I got up from the bed while he just sat and yawned, rubbing his eyes.

“Aye, mister!” I held him by the wrist and tried pulling him off the bed, only to fail.

He was ten times stronger than I. And heavy too. Why was there a guy on my bed?

Correction: Why was there a half naked guy on my bed?

Double correction: Why was there a sexy half naked guy on my bed?

“Why are you screaming?” he frowned adorably. “Did you see a spider?”

I clenched my jaw, “I'm not scared of spiders...” I responded almost immediately. Then I realized I was talking to a stranger in my bed. “Who are you? How are you in my house? Get out!” I said it all in one go.

He frowned even deeper. “I-I don't know...” he looked at his hands. “I only know about the potion.”

My eyes grew wide.

The potion.

I thought that was all nothing but a prank. I never expected any of that to be real. Or maybe it isn't and he's just part of this entire prank. That thought just worsened my anger, which only made me glare at him.

“Listen here, buddy. I don't know who set you up for this, probably Shaya, but I am not falling for this prank of yours,” I crossed my arms over my chest. “So, you can leave now. And please, put a shirt on.” I sighed as I rubbed my temple in frustration.

He looked down his body and then back up at me with a knowing smirk on his face. “What? Do I make you nervous?”

I smiled sarcastically. “Yeah, sure. Let me take a picture and frame it,” I said sarcastically before dropping the smile and rolling my eyes.

A smile replaced the smirk on his lips, which only made him more attractive. Only then I thought of properly taking a look at him. He had chocolate brown hair, eyes that were indeed as blue as the sky, light skinned, perfect lips, perfect defined jaw and cheekbones, even his eyebrows were perfect. But what surprised me the most were his tattoos. He had the tattoo on his right upper arm and a wolf tattoo on his right chest.

What sorcery is this?

I jumped a bit when I heard someone clear their throat and my face heated as soon as I noticed the smirk on his face.

“Maybe you should frame that picture,” he chuckled, making my face heat up even more.

What is wrong with you, Serena?

I looked at him, trying to maintain a straight face. “Leave my house.”

The frown appeared on his face again. “But I have nowhere to go. You're the on who wanted me here! Why are you telling me too leave?”

Now it was my turn to frown. “I wanted you here?”

“You're Serena. You're the one who used the potion,” he shot me a certain look. “You wanted me here.”

I felt my anger rising up again and without a second thought, I shouted Shaya's name. I thought she was sleeping, but when she came running into my room with a baseball bat, I believed she wasn't.

“What happened? Another robber?” she asked breathless, still holding securely onto the baseball bat.

I pressed my hand against my forehead firmly. “No, you idiot. Who is this?” I asked, pointing at the guy.

Shaya looked at him and he looked at her. Before I could even blink, Shaya was giving me the ‘I know what you did’ face.

“You didn't tell me you had a guest over,” she said in a teasing tone.

I gaped, “What? No! You know what,” I sagged my shoulders. “I fell for you little prank. Now get him out of here.”

Shaya looked at him, then at me. “Panda, I don't know him. I've literally seen him for the first time. Ever.”

I stared at her. Shaya's been my best friend for years now and I know exactly when she lies. Whenever she lies, she tries too hard to keep a straight face, but by the look on her face, I realized that she was actually telling the truth and not lying. Shaya stared back at me and her eyes suddenly grew wide in realization. She opened her mouth to say something, but she couldn't find the right words. I sighed and closed my eyes, nodding.

“Yes, he claims to have appeared because of the potion,” I looked back at her. “I thought this was all a prank set up by you, but apparently it's not.”

She placed the baseball bat on my desk, ignoring the guy on my bed. “I mean, he is exactly what you wrote,” she looked at him, making my head turn to his direction.

His blue eyes watched me, silently analysing me. I've always been someone who believed in reality. Magic belongs in fairytales. Nothing like that ever happens in real life.

“How is this possible?” I breathed out in disbelief.

Shaya remained silent too, but he didn't. His lips curled into a warm smile and the words just soothingly rolled off his tongue.

“Because life is impossible without a little magic.”
