Fell!Goth's P.O.V
Fell!Goth hated a lot of people, but right now he probably hated Fell!Palette the most. He was obnoxious, rude, selfish, and barely acknowledges his 'partner's' existence, but it could be worse. Fell!Goth wasn't even sure how they became a 'thing' in the first place.
Sure it was annoying to be completely ignored, but it wasn't like Fell!Goth didn't expect Fell!Palette to act that way. They were just partners in crime, even if Fell!Palette said they were more then that. Fell!Goth knew better and he couldn't deny that it hurt. A lot.
"I saw your twin the other day," Fell!Palette said with a sly smirk. He held up his knife and studied it for a few moments before going back to sharpening it again. "He's cute when's he's scared~"
"Of course you would think that," Fell!Goth murmured under his breath as he continued to toy with his magic. Leaning against a brick wall, he watched his magic flare in his hands like red fire. Fire was the only thing he could stare at for a long without getting bored.
Fell!Palette laughed at his reply. "What? Are you jealous?"
"The exact opposite," Fell!Goth scoffed, his magic increasing slightly. "He's just a helpless idiot that doesn't know what he's doing half the time."
Fell!Palette only chuckled. "Whatever you say. Don't worry, I only want him as my toy~"
Fell!Goth knew he wasn't lying when he said that, and it only irritated him even further. He only rolled his eyes in reply and stayed silent, not being able to trust his own voice with the skeleton constantly toying with his emotions.
With a dark chuckle, Fell!Palette strode over to a nearby dummy with a gleaming knife in his hands. Fell!Goth already knew what was going to happen. And he lost count of the dummies they had to replace this week.
In one swift movement, Fell!Palette slashed his knife and sliced the dummy in half perfectly. A moment passed and the dummy fell on the ground, revealing the cotton that was inside. Fell!Goth almost felt bad for the ghost that lost it's home.
Well, I guess we're going to have to get another one. Fell!Goth thought glancing at the sky. The sun was setting and the sky was a splash of colors. I wonder how many dummies we've gone through and how many homes we destroyed...
"Sharp... just the way I like it," Fell!Palette murmured touching the tip of his knife with a satisfied smile. He put his knives away and stood besides the other with his hand supporting him against the wall. "Anyway, are you free tonight?"
Fell!Goth just shrugged, even though he didn't feel like doing anything today. "I don't have anything else to do. What do you have in mind?"
Fell!Palette grinned, showing off his fangs. "How about we go over to my place and have some fun~?"
Fell!Goth gave a groan. He went to Fell!Palette house once or twice and found how what kind of 'fun' he had in mind. And he would rather not go through that again. With a sigh, he pushed himself off the wall and spared a glance at the other. "I would rather crawl into a hole and die."
"Aww, come on," Fell!Palette said with a chuckle. He lifted Fell!Goth's chin with a smirk, ignoring his protests. "I know you were enjoying yourself, don't lie to me~"
"Go dust yourself," Fell!Goth growled, storming away without another word. He heard Fell!Palette laugh behind him, but he made no move to stop him. He simply watched Fell!Goth leave, wearing a grin on his face.
"He'll come back," Fell!Palette chuckled quietly, turning around and walking the opposite direction. "He always does~"
Goth's P.O.V
Goth's soul was beating so hard, he felt like it was going to burst. He's been pacing back and forth restlessly, waiting for Palette's arrival. Every minute felt like an hour passing by, and with each passing second only made him more nervous. People would sometimes give a questioning glance before moving on.
Okay, I can do this. Goth told himself countless times. Ever since he found out about these new feelings, he's been thinking over so many times as to what to say, wear, where it would be, and all the possibilities that could happen. All he had to do was say a few simple words, get this weight off his chest, and either cry or celebrate depending on Palette's answer.
"...I can't do this," Goth said with a sigh. How was he suppose to tell his best friend that he had strong feelings for him? And it had to be in public out of all places? But it wasn't like Goth had much of a choice. It was either now or never.
"You can't do what?"
Goth jumped in surprise. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't notice Palette approaching. Giving a nervous chuckle, Goth rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, um, it's nothing, really."
Palette ginned, putting on his famous face of determination while throwing a fist in the air. "Well, whatever is it, I know for a fact you can do it!"
This brought a small smile to his face. "You think so?"
"Of course!" Palette replied confidently. "And as your best friend, I'm here to help you all the way!"
Goth's smile faded a bit at the term 'Best Friend' but he quickly shook it off. He was honestly getting sick of being considered Palette's Best Friend and nothing more.
Palette frowned slightly at Goth's silence. It was rare for him to act so differently, and there was no way Palette was going to let this slide. "Goth? Buddy? Are you okay?"
Goth only bit his lip and didn't respond. He stared at the ground as cold sweat ran down his neck. Goth's mind went blank and he forgot what he was suppose to say.
"...Goth?" Palette tried again. "Is something wrong?"
"P-Palette," Goth stuttered quietly, his face turning bright purple. "T-There's something I want to t-tell you..."
Palette gave an encouraging smile and placed a hand on his shoulder. "What is it buddy?"
"I-I..." Goth gulped, unable to get the words out. He tried to ignore the 'what if's' and focus on what's important. "P-Palette, I-I LOVE YOU!"
Goth shut his eyes closed and braced himself. A stretch of silence followed, and the feeling of dread in his chest only grew. He didn't want to rush his friend's response, but the silence was slowly killing him.
After what felt like entirety, Goth opened his eyes and stared blankly at the ground. It felt like they were going to stand there forever. Finally Goth felt Palette hold his hand. He felt a flash of relief for only a moment until Palette spoke.
"G-Goth, I have no idea," Palette said with a small smile. His smile faltered a bit, but it was still there. "I-I'm sorry but, I can't return your feelings."
Goth could feel his soul shatter into millions of pieces. He freed himself from Palette's grip and furiously wiped the tears away with his sleeve.
Palette instantly felt guilty. "Don't cry! I'm sorry but I only see you as a friend. B-But we'll still be best friends!"
Palette tried to pull him into a hug but Goth stepped away. "No, it's okay. I get it. I-I just need some time alone..."
Before Palette could object, Goth fled. He didn't care where he was going, as long as it was away from his friend. Goth's vision was blurred with tears, but he kept running. At least Palette didn't try to follow him.
I'm an idiot! Goth thought angrily to himself. Why did I think I had a chance with my own best friend?
Suddenly Goth bumped into someone and fell on the ground, scraping his arm in the process. It hurt, but it was nothing compared to the painful feeling in his chest.
There was a groan. Goth looked up to apologize for not paying attention but stopped himself when his eyes landed on his alternate self.
"What the fuck is your problem-" Fell!Goth started angrily but stopped himself when he saw the other cry. For some reason seeing his twin cry made him feel slightly guilty for snapping.
Goth flinched slightly and wiped away his remaining tears. He ignored any sour thoughts about the Underfell version of himself and said, "S-Sorry. I wasn't paying a-attention."
Fell!Goth hesitated, but sighed and offered a hand. Goth stared at him in surprise. Was he trying to be nice or was this another trick of his?
"I-I'm not going to stand here forever and wait until you take my hand," Fell!Goth growled, looking away. "Are you going to take it or not?"
Goth reluctantly took the others hand. Fell!Goth easily pulled him back to his feet and helped him regain his balance. They stood there awkwardly before Fell!Goth finally let go.
"T-Thanks for helping me, I guess," Goth murmured, blushing slightly. Normally, they were be at each others throats. This was a completely new experience.
Fell!Goth sighed. "Don't mention it. Ever."
Goth giggled a little bit at Fell!Goth's response but he was cut off when he felt his arm stung. When Goth rolled up his sleeve, he was bleeding. Fell!Goth noticed and grabbed his arm.
Goth winced but didn't try to pull back. "H-hey, be careful!"
Fell!Goth took no notice at Goth's protests. Instead, he gently placed placed his hand over the wound and a faint glow appeared at his hand. Goth stiffened but relaxed when he realized Fell!Goth was healing him.
After a minute, Fell!Goth pulled away and the scrape was gone. Goth held his arm and it no longer hurt. Goth was starting to question Fell!Goth's actions, but he didn't say anything.
"T-Thanks again," Goth said awkwardly, smiling. He didn't even notice Fell!Goth blushing. "I never knew you could be so nice."
Fell!Goth crossed his arms. "Yeah, whatever. Why were you crying anyways?"
Goth frowned and looked at the ground. He fought back the tears from spilling again. "I-I rather not talk about it..."
"Palette?" Fell!Goth guessed. Goth nodded sadly, sniffing. Fell!Goth sighed. "At least your Palette cares about you."
"What do you mean by that?" Goth questioned curiously.
Fell!Goth glared at him. "Why do you care? It's none of your fucking business."
Just by looking at him, it wasn't hard to figure out what happened between them. Fell!Goth looked ready to murder someone and cry. Goth smiled in sympathy and pulled the other into a hug.
Fell!Goth winced and looked down at Goth in surprise, but he didn't try to pull away. A blush tinted his cheeks, but Goth didn't seem to notice.
"Get off me," Fell!Goth growled, even though a part of him didn't want Goth to let go.
Goth looked up at him with a slight smirk. As if he read Fell!Goth's mind, Goth said, "We both know you don't want me to let go."
Fell!Goth grumbled but he didn't deny. He hesitated for a few moments before reluctantly returning the hug. It felt weird hugging his alternate self, especially when they usually don't get along. But at least they both felt better.
Finally, they both separated with their faces tinted with blush. They both stood there awkwardly until Fell!Goth spoke.
"...let's pretend none of this ever happened," Fell!Goth murmured, feeling annoyed he let Goth get the best of his emotions. He felt like an idiot.
Goth nodded in agreement. "Yeah... let's do that."
...
A few weeks passed, and Fell!Goth got to know Goth a bit better. He couldn't seem to get Goth out of his mind. Everything about Goth was perfect, from his smile to his attitude. He never thought about it, but Fell!Palette was right about one thing. Goth is adorable, just the way he is.
Even though Fell!Goth felt like an idiot for falling for his alternate self, he never come back to Fell!Palette. It was almost funny that ever since he gotten into a 'relationship' with Fell!Palette, he told himself love was just a distraction. And that he didn't need anyone to care about him or to love in his life. And Fell!Goth found himself wanting nothing more than another hug from his twin.
They still argue a lot so nothing really changed, but they're mostly friendly arguments. Fell!Goth wasn't sure if he was seeing things or not, but he thought he saw Goth's attitude towards him change.
With a sigh, Fell!Goth closed the door behind him. He got tired of staying home all day so he figured he would go out on a walk, just to clear his mind. And if he was lucky, he wouldn't run into anybody.
Everything seemed perfectly normal. A few people gave him wary glances but he simply ignored them. Some issues are better yet forgotten.
It wasn't long before Fell!Goth heard two familiar voices arguing. As he continued walking, he could hear the voices growing louder and louder. At this point, they were just around the corner. And Fell!Goth definitely didn't want to see him again, even if Fell!Goth did miss him. But there was only one person he really wanted to see.
Fell!Goth peered around the corner and sure enough, he saw Fell!Palette and Palette arguing while a frustrated Goth was trying to calm them down. Fell!Goth didn't even bother listening to what the Palettes had to say, it was probably unimportant and none of his business.
Before Fell!Goth could leave and ignore the situation, Goth spotted him and gave him a pleading look to save him from this mess. Fell!Goth rolled his eyes, trying his hardest not to smile. Smiling would only show that he had a soft side for Goth. Fell!Goth smiled when he first met Fell!Palette, and he took advantage of that.
Pretending to act annoyed, Fell!Goth gestured Goth to come to him since he didn't want Fell!Palette to get any ideas. The Palettes didn't even notice Goth leave. It was almost amusing to watch them bicker like angry children.
"...so what happened this time?" Fell!Goth asked with a brow raised.
Goth sighed. "Me and Palette were just hanging out until Fell!Palette came into the picture. Everything went downhill from there."
"What a surprise," Fell!Goth murmured sarcastically, glancing at the two once more. At this pint they looked ready to murder each other. "I think we should leave and let them handle this."
Goth looked uncertain. "You sure? What if they ended up fighting? I don't want anyone getting hurt..."
Fell!Goth rolled his eyes. "You're too nice for your own good. Take a break from the Palettes and get some ice cream or something."
"Ice cream?" Goth asked, his eye shining. "There's an ice cream place around here?"
"Actually, there is," Fell!Goth replied casually. "And I just happen to know where it is."
Goth stared at him with a determined expression. He grabbed Fell!Goth by the wrist and pulled him along. "Well then lets go!"
Fell!Goth winced at the physical contact and immediately pulled himself out of Goth's grasp. Goth gave him a confused look but thankfully didn't ask. The rest of time the was mostly awkward, but the tension faded away when they reached the ice cream shop. Fell!Goth didn't get any ice cream, even though Goth insisted that he should.
They left the building with Goth wearing a bright smile on his face and sat down at one of the tables outside. Fell!Goth tried his best not to stare at the others smile, but it was surprisingly difficult. Had he fallen for his twin that badly?
While Goth ate his ice cream, they chatted about nothing in particular. For once, they weren't having their friendly arguments or small competitions. They were talking like real friends. This almost made Fell!Goth happy. He was slowly climbing the ladder.
Goth was talking but paused mid-sentence when he caught Fell!Goth staring at him. This time, Goth noticed the red hue on his face. For a moment, Goth thought he had something on his face for a moment and was about to ask until he noticed Fell!Goth was staring into his eyes.
Goth could feel his cheeks grow hot. He developed a thing for the Underfell version of himself ever since they grown to like each other. Fell!Goth was a stubborn jerk, but Goth loved that about him. Even though Goth wasn't expecting to get over Palette that quickly, he found himself moving on.
They stared into each others eyes for a short period of time before Fell!Goth blinked and looked away. "S-Sorry. Drifted off into space there."
Goth giggled. "What made you so distracted that you stopped listening to me?" Goth asked, curiously. He just wanted to make sure...
Fell!Goth shrugged and replied without thinking. "An adorable idiot."
"Who is this 'adorable idiot?'" Goth asked, a spark of jealousy lighting up in his soul. "Do I know them?"
"I think you know them quite well," Fell!Goth responded. He was sure Goth wouldn't be able to figure it out. "They're like me, only innocent."
Goth frowned slightly. He didn't know anyone that was innocent but at the same time edgy. But Fell!Goth said he knew this person really well, but he couldn't think of anyone but himself.
Sudden realization hit Goth like a truck and bright purple blush engulfed his entire face in a matter of seconds. Fell!Goth knew he figured it out and he looked down at his hands to hide his face. Goth was about to say something but Fell!Goth beat him to it.
"I know what your thinking," Fell!Goth said quietly. "I'm the idiot for falling in love for the other version of myself. And your right. J-Just forget about it, okay?"
Before Goth could think of a response, Fell!Goth put his head down and covered his face with his arms. Maybe Goth will leave him alone to suffer in silence.
Suddenly Fell!Goth felt arms wrap around him. Fell!Goth looked up and saw Goth hugging him tightly with a big smile on his face.
Fell!Goth gave him a confused look but he was more relieved then anything. He blushed intensely on how close their faces were but he didn't comment. "Goth? What are you-"
Before Fell!Goth could finish his sentence, Goth leaned over and planted a small kiss on the others cheek. It took a few moments to process what just happened, and Fell!Goth blushed furiously.
Goth stuck out his tongue. "I love you too, idiot."
