CC!Palette's P.O.V
Palette made his way to the library with a big smile on his face. He left his books at the library again, even though it was on purpose. If it was an excuse to see the librarian, then it was a chance Palette was willing to jump into anytime, anyplace.
It wasn't long before Palette arrived at the school library. As he stepped inside, Palette found his books right where he left them. As usual, Goth was sitting at the counter with a book in his hands. A few students were there, but they were gathering their stuff to leave since they were done studying. Sadly, there was cheer leading practice today so Palette couldn't stay as long as he wanted too, but it was better than not seeing Goth at all.
After Palette got his books, he went over to the librarian with a smile. He always had a thing for Goth, everyone knew that. But that doesn't stop people from flirting with him. And when they do, Palette simply just takes care of them.
"Hi Goth!" Palette said cheerfully. "I just came to get my books. How are you?"
Goth looked up from his book with a smile. "I thought those books were yours. Don't you have cheer leading practice in ten minutes?"
Palette nodded and gave a quick glance at the clock. He didn't care much about cheer leading practice at all, but it was the only way he could visit Goth during school hours. "Yeah, but I just wanted to say a quick hello to my best friend before I go~"
Goth laughed and put down his book. "Well if you have practice, then don't let me distract you. Now go before I kick you out myself."
"Fine," Palette replied, rolling his eyes. Even though he didn't want to go, he found being the cheerleader captain had a few advantages. "Can we hang out afterwards?"
"Of course," Goth gave a smile that only made Palette want him even more. "You know where to find me."
Palette said a quick goodbye and hurried to cheer leading practice. When he arrived, Palette wasn't surprised to find most of the cheerleaders hanging out with the jocks on the bleachers. Only a few were talking further away. What was surprising was that most of the cheerleaders liked to hit on Goth. Either it was for entertainment or they're serious about it, Palette will not tolerance it.
A loud, shill whistle caught the jocks' attention instantly. Error stood there impatiently while the jocks jumped down from the bleachers and ran over to him. They formed a straight line in front of him while Error yelled orders and expectations like a military general. With a sigh, Palette put on his usual energetic act and brought out his bullhorn.
Taking a deep breath, Palette yelled through his bullhorn. "Alright girls, you know the drill. Let's go!"
They gathered around and waited patiently for Palette's instructions. Palette put on another fake grin and held his chin high. "As you all know, the big football game is coming next week and we still have a lot to cover. But before we do that, how about we rehearse real quick first?"
There was a small cheer and they rushed to the field to rehearse. Palette spaced out while the girls practiced. He kept his smile on, but really he felt nothing. Palette didn't care if they won the big game or not, he only cared about winning Goth's heart and getting rid of anyone who tries to interfere with their relationship.
Palette snapped back into reality when they finished it off with a good standing pyramid and a loud cheer. "Go Floweys~!"
He put on another fake act, clapping his hands loudly with a grin on his face as the cheerleaders gathered around for further instructions. Everyone looked high-spirited, expect for one, a rabbit monster to be exact. Mary. She looked nervous and uneasy, and Palette knew exactly why.
Palette flashed her a dark look before turning back to the others. They paid no attention to his sudden change of expression. It was almost a shame Mary was on her last strike. Palette always liked her over the other cheerleaders, which is why he gave her three strikes as a warning. Unfortunately, this was her last.
This was going to be a long day.
...
As soon as practice was over, Palette hurried to the library. Goth always waits for him to return after practice. He always seems happy to see Palette, even in a bad mood. But if Goth knew about Palette's dark secret, their friendship would end in a flash.
Which is why Palette makes sure that never happens.
Palette entered the library with a smile on his face. But his smile immediately turned into a scowl when he saw a when he saw Goth with another girl. A female cat monster. Her skirt was way too short, and her bellybutton was exposed. She stood over Goth with a suggestive smirk on her face.
"Hey Goth~" She purred, causing Palette to cringe. "Are you free tonight?"
Goth sighed and gave her a look. "Actually, I am. In fact, I'm already seeing someone."
Palette balled his fists hearing those words. Jealousy washed over him and clouded his mind with overpowering desire to snap Goth's crush neck in half and watch them bleed to death.
"Oh come on," She whined. Her tail swayed lazily back and forth. "I heard the quiet ones are rough behind closed doors~"
"EXCUSE ME," Palette growled angrily, pushing his way through so he stood between them. "Can't you tell your making my friend uncomfortable? Besides, he would never want to go out with a dirty whore like you."
The cat hissed irritably. "Whatever, this was a waste of my time anyways."
Palette watched her leave, his pupils turning into slits for a second. Right before she left the building, she turned around and sent Goth a wink. Before either of them could react, she left.
Palette was about to go after her when Goth stopped him. "It's not worth it, Palette."
Taking a deep breath, Palette forced himself to calm down and gave Goth a bright smile. "Sorry, I was just upset she was bothering my best friend!"
Goth laughed. "Well, she was starting to annoy me. Thanks, although you don't have to be so aggressive about it."
"I'll do what it takes," Palette replied slyly. "Oh! And I heard you're seeing someone. Mind telling me who the lucky person is~?" he asked sweetly, although the words tasted bitter on his tongue.
"O-Oh, uh," Goth flushed in embarrassment. "It's nothing, really. I just said it to make that girl go away, t-that's all."
Palette scolded slightly. He stalked Goth long enough to know when he's lying or not. But he also knew Goth wouldn't say anything unless he really wanted too. Otherwise, Goth will keep his mouth shut.
Palette sighed, but didn't pry. Now that he knew Goth had his eye on someone, there was no way he was going to rest until he found this person.
Goth will be mine, Palette thought, smirking to himself. He has no choice...
...
A few days later, Palette found the cat monster again standing on the rooftop of the school smoking cigarette when she was suppose to be in class. Just seeing her triggered something in the back of Palette's head and angered him.
Palette peered out from the door he was hiding behind as bile rose in his throat. The only thing on his mind was bloodshed and his rival in front of him. Palette gripped on the handle of his pocket knife. The knife may be small, but it was sharp, effective, and stained with blood of the 'innocent.' He killed countless people without mercy. He would do anything to win Goth's heart.
The cat monster didn't seem to notice somebody was watching her. She inhaled deeply and let out a cloud of smoke. She stared off into the sky, lost in her own thoughts. Palette could smell the smoke from here.
Palette grinned darkly and gave a creepy giggle. Almost instantly the cat monster snapped back into reality and looked around nervously. She slowly made her way to where Palette was waiting. Palette hid his pocketknife behind his back, his pupils flashing blood red for only a moment.
The door clicked open, and the cat monster poked her head inside. She didn't notice Palette right away since he was hiding behind the open door. She took a few steps inside, sweating nervously.
"Hello?" She called quietly. "Is anyone there?"
"Just me," Palette giggled once more, stepping out in the open with his hands behind his back.
She spun around in surprise. When she saw Palette, she relaxed slightly but her body was still tense. "Oh... its you. What do you want?"
Palette ignore her question. He flashed her a creepy smile and slowly started to walk towards her. "You know... it's not nice to try and steal something away from someone."
"W-What do you mean?" She asked, confused. She slowly back away as Palette got closer. "I didn't try to steal anything from you!"
Palette laughed darkly, causing her to flinch. "That's funny. I'm pretty sure you would know considering you were there." he chuckled. "But don't worry! You didn't miss much. You only tried to take him away from me."
Before the cat monster could reply, Palette lunged forward with his knife and they both fell on the ground. Palette tired to stab her, but she held him back surprisingly well. Panic shone in her eyes as she tried to call for help. Unfortunately for her, Palette held down on her throat making her choke on her own words.
"Calling for help won't help you," Palette chuckled, enjoying the terrified look on her face. "You know, the death will be less painful if you stopped fighting."
She started crying and begged for her life. Her makeup started to run because of the tears and Palette pressed against her throat harder making it hard for her to breathe.
Palette grinned as he manged to free himself from her grasp. He raised his blade, letting the tension in the air grow.
"Don't worry," Palette reassured her. his pupils turning completely red. "The pain will end soon~"
Without warning, Palette stabbed the side of her head violently, twisting the blade so more blood would spill. Her choked cries were cut off and her body went limp. This didn't stop Palette though, he stabbed her repeatedly causing blood to splatter all over his clothes. With each blow, he could feel his own sanity slowly fading away. And as his sanity faded, the more aggressive his blows became.
"He's mine," Palette giggled uncontrollably. "He's mine and mine only, nobody but me can have him."
Finally Palette slowed down. After a moment of catching his breath, Palette pulled away and stood up to see the mess he made. It was messier then he thought it would be. Blood was splattered everywhere. There was a pool of blood spreading slowly and his knife was dripping with blood. The body was barely identifiable, covered in blood and stab wounds. Her once pretty face and fur was a mess.
Palette wasn't exactly proud of the kill he made. If only he had controlled himself better and let the girl live longer to feel the pain. At least he was satisfied with the mess he made.
Instead of staying to admire his work, Palette started to clean up. He had a limited amount of time to change his clothing, wash off the blood, hide the body, and clean up the mess before lunch.
Palette threw the body off the roof into an awaiting garbage bin. After he made sure the body was hidden, he cleaned up the blood and ran off to change. By the time he was finished, the bell rang and students rushed out of class for lunch.
Palette let out a sigh and headed over to the library where Goth was waiting. As soon as he arrived, Palette saw Mary looking for a new book. Their eyes locked for only a moment before she quickly looked away.
Palette quietly growled to himself before putting on his usual, cheerful expression. He looked around for any signs of Goth, but to his disappointment he was nowhere in sight. In fact, nobody was at the library.
"Goth's out at the moment grabbing some lunch," Mary explained nervously, noticing his confusion. "He'll be back in a few minutes."
Palette simply glared at her. "How do you know?"
Mary shifted uncomfortably. "It's, uh, lunch time. B-Besides, he told me before he left."
"You think this is funny?" Palette hissed, his pupils turning into slits. He grabbed the collar of her shirt harshly. "Your on your last strike girl, so I suggest you leave my Gothy alone."
"I-I don't have feelings for him, o-okay?" Mary stuttered, trembling slightly under Palette's cold glare. "I only see him as my friend."
"Don't try to lie in my face," Palette snarled furiously. "I seen the way you look at him. You know what? I should of killed you a long time ago. Keeping you alive is only hurting our relationship-"
"You two aren't even together!" Mary suddenly snapped. "Threaten me all you want, I won't let my friend fall for the wrong person."
Palette stared at her for a few moments dumbfounded. He wasn't expecting her to snap. Palette's quiet chuckle turned into a dark laugh. Mary flinched and tried to pull away.
Palette couldn't stop laughing. "You're stupider than I thought..."
Before he could say anymore, Goth returned. Palette whispered, "You got lucky this time, but lets just say... that was your last strike~"
Mary's eyes widened in shock. Palette smiled cruelly before spinning around with a cheerful expression and ran up to Goth to greet him.
"Goth, you're back!" Palette giggled, giving the librarian a hug. "I was waiting. Leave me a note before you leave next time without me knowing, alright? I was really worried!"
Goth laughed and returned the hug. At the corner's of Palette's vision, he could see Mary fighting back tears. She looked broken and defeated.
"I was just grabbing some lunch, it's nothing serious." Goth chuckled, pulling away from the hug. "Did you eat yet?"
Palette shook his head and answered honestly. "I'm not hungry."
Goth sighed with a small smile. "It's not healthy to skip meals, you know. Promise you'll eat something soon?"
"You worry too much," Palette giggled. "Alright fine, I promise."
"Good," Goth replied with a smile. "And I have the right to worry. You're my best friend after all."
Palette blushed slightly, his soul fluttering. They didn't even notice Mary run out of the building wearing a terrified and panicked expression.
Don't worry, Gothy, Palette thought, smirking to himself. He could already see Mary's body covered in blood and broken bones. I won't let anyone hurt us...
...
Mary didn't even show up for cheer leading practice. It wasn't until after practice when Palette found her walking home, flinching at any sudden sounds. Palette followed her home silent as a cat. The entire time, Mary felt like somebody was watching her but she didn't find anybody following her.
Once Mary arrived home, she let out a sigh of relief. Immediately she went to her room to do her homework. Her parents were on a business trip so she was all alone with a killer waiting outside.
Mary opened the window from her room and sat down at her desk with a frustrated sigh. She put on earphones and started doing her homework.
Palette took the opportunity to enter the house. This was probably the only chance he'll get to get rid of her since he almost never sees her during school. He found her staring blankly at her homework.
In a flash, Palette grabbed her in a choking position. Mary yelped in fear and surprise and her earphones fell on the ground. Before she could say anything, Palette covered her mouth with a piece of cloth.
"Did you really expect you could get away that easily?" Palette laughed. "I gave you three strikes as a warning, but that didn't stop you, huh?"
Mary cried in reply.
Palette laughed menacingly, and snapped her arm in half without mercy. A loud crack rang through the air. Mary screamed in pain through the cloth.
"You know, I really did prefer you over the other cheerleaders," Palette said, breaking her other arm. "I don't normally give people three strikes when they try to steal my Gothy away, but I thought you were better than that. Oh well, I guess I was wrong~"
Mary cried even harder. She tired begging for mercy, even thought she already knew Palette wouldn't spare her. It only made Palette laugh.
Palette smirked and slowly started to break her fingers one at a time. He enjoyed listening to the sound of her bones cracking and braking apart. "It's funny how I killed someone a few days ago. I wonder how her parents reacted when she didn't come home?"
At this point, Mary was in too much pain to scream. She gave weak whimpered and pitiful tears.
"I almost feel bad for you," Palette chuckled, snapping her legs in half. His eyes glowed red and Palette wore a crazed grin. "I wonder how much pain your in right now..."
Just by looking at her, Palette could tell Mary was in unbearable pain. She looked ready to give up.
Palette tilted his head and looked at her. "Look at you... all beaten and laying helplessly on the floor. Want me to end your suffering?"
Mary was in too much pain to reply. It looked like it hurt to cry. Palette laughed and grabbed her head. Mary flinched and cried in pain. In one swift movement, Palette effortlessly snapped her neck in half.
Palette wiped the sweat off his brow and stepped away from Mary's body. She looked deformed and crippled. There was a pool of blood surrounding her body as she slowly bled.
"He's mine," Palette giggled uncontrollably. "And I won't let anyone take him away from me..."
