I was born
and died today
in this
earthen clay

Drawn from the soil
and my soul
Flesh and spirit;
they say

Here I fell
and flew away
in the sky
blue and bright

Dawn delivered
and dusk returned
these dreams
in the night

Here I swam
and drowned
in an ocean
empty and deep

Now I stand
and I lay me down
right nearby
your lovely feet

Then I died
and was carried away
But I was also
born today

I reached into
the starlit sky
and touched the heavens
passing by
