I lean on fragile sensibilities
as my heart feels ill at ease
and even there I find a peace
when you arrive to talk with me

Your simple sentiments
and gentle laughter
are the most heaven sent
of all I've been after

And yet I will not dare to rush
this budding seed of hope in us
I take care now not to drown
this new sprout in its ground

Each new branch in its way
reaches higher every day
and soon I wish we shall see
the beauty of our together tree
