we still dwell on these thoughts

on these thoughts we hold tight

we hold tight to our defense

our defense of the indefensable

the indefensable view of the world

view of the world we developed

we developed at a young age

at a young age the world impressed

world impressed its opinions

its opinions of love and hate

of love and hate we make war

we make war in the dark

in the dark we choose to stay

we choose to stay in our fear

in our fear we perish alone
