Days of bliss have just begun
Snowflakes on extended tongue
Winter warden has paroled
countless prisoners into the cold

There to drift in their delight
on a well lit, Winter night
There to dream beneath these stars
where the friends of the solstice are

Long of dark and short of day
each will spend in their own way
Some by the fire enjoying a nap
and some resting in a moonlit bath

Let the year drag out slow
as we slide into tomorrow
Let us watch these Winter tides
as frozen drops fall from our eyes
