Group B

*Read Authors Note*

Alexis walked away from Minho and began eating. She blankly stared at the wall the whole time and thought about nothing in particular. Who knows how long her trances would last. Sometimes they would last days, sometimes weeks. It was a peculiar and strange thing that affected her. However, this certain trance didn't last very long.

"Hello." An unfamiliar voice said to Alexis. The boy sat next to her but Alexis didn't divert her gaze from the wall.

"My name is Aris, and I came from group B." He said slowly.

"I'm sure Jorge told you about the maze. I was in the maze with a group of girls and..." He hesitated, it was like he didn't want to agitate her.

"–And I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but they did mention someone called Alexis that was in the maze with them. Was that you?"

Those were the words that pulled her back to reality. Thoughts swarmed into her head and emotions flooded through her. She was alive again.
Aris' words brought back many memories for Alexis. Some of joy and friendship, some of fear and betrayal. It was true. She was apart of group B two years ago. She had been just another test subject for WICKED. That was until she was banished to the maze.

She had hurt another girl and her punishment was severe. She was to be sent out into the maze to die. Alexis would never forget the faces of her friends as they sent her outside the walls.

They probably thought she was dead because she never returned. Instead, Alexis found a way out. She escaped the maze by herself and fought the grievers single handed. Once reaching the WICKED base, they gave her memories back and offered her a job there.

Seeing the shattered outside world Alexis decided to take up the offer. Even though she absolutely disagreed with what they were doing, she decided to save herself. She never really knew if she was still a test subject for them. If they were still using her for brain patterns.

That was almost two years ago. Alexis wouldn't even recognise her former self. Later on, she found out she was forced into trying to attack the other girl. WICKED controlled her brain and made her do it.

It's what had to happen.

Were the words WICKED told her, and nowadays, she had come to believing that short sentence.

Part of her wanted to see the girls she used to call her friends. Alexis wanted to prove she was tougher than what they thought. She proved them wrong.
But the other part of her wanted to avoid them at all costs. Secretly, Alexis couldn't bear to see their faces again. They were the same people that turned their back on her. How could her best friends put her through something like that?

"No." Alexis said a little too forcefully.
Aris didn't seem to believe her but he accepted her answer. He turned around like he was going to walk away but Alexis stopped him.

"Yes." She retorted.
"Yes it was me."

Aris sat back down immediately.

"You tried to kill Harriet?" He asked disbelievingly.

Alexis nodded with a sigh.

"WICKED made me do it. They controlled me." She muttered. She decided she could trust him.
Aris seemed lost for words.

"That's horrible." He whispered.
