MAGGIE's POV

A small smile broke across my face upon seeing all the beautiful flowers in our garden. I've never seen them all bloom like this before. Maybe, because I've been taking care of them since I arrived home. Their vibrant colors looked so good in the eyes which helped calm my senses.

Then, my gaze shifted to the part where a couple of sunflowers were planted. I couldn't help but to remember Villa Carmela and Marco. Even though I was mad at him, I couldn't deny the fact that I missed him so badly.

I didn't want to leave him just like that without talking to him first but I had to do it for the sake of my sanity. It was been two weeks but the pain was still lingering inside my heart. I've been trying to justify what Marco did but everytime I do that, I still go back to the fact that he intentionally used and deceived me.

I heaved a sigh. I was about to sit on the bench when I heard my phone ring. I checked who it was and saw Luna's name. She already knew that I got back in the USA because I called her last week and we hang out once.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Mags. It's my birthday today but I haven't received any message or call from you. Don't tell me, you forgot?" She said sulkily and I couldn't help but to feel bad. Yes, I forgot because my mind has been full of Marco.

Even though it was tiring me out, my heart and mind were full of him in every second of everyday.

I bit my lower lip. "Oh, gosh! I'm sorry, Luna. I didn't mean to forget about it. It's just that I've been so preoccupied lately." I heard her sigh on the other line.

"Fine. You're forgiven. Even though you didn't mention anything to me; I know that you and Marco have a problem right now. You wouldn't be here in the USA if there wasn't. Because of that, I've decided to throw a party at my place tonight. Make sure to come so that you could forget your problems for the meantime. It's been a while since we and the gang were together so you should come. I won't take a no for an answer." I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

"Yes, ma'am. Don't worry, I wouldn't miss it for the world." I answered jokingly and that made her laugh.

"Tell Christine to come too."

"Okay. See you tonight then. Anyway, happy birthday."

"Thank you. See you tonight." I then ended the call. I shook my head while smiling. Thankfully, I have Luna. She's the kind of best friend who would do anything to make her friend happy. She hates throwing party at her house but because of me, she decided to do so.

Even though it's her birthday, she's thinking about my sake.

I just put back my phone inside the pocket of my shorts when I heard a car stopped in front of our neighbors' gate. It has been so long since the last time I saw someone in that house aside from their maids because the owners relocated to Greece many years ago.

I saw a beautiful girl got out of the taxi and she looked familiar. She was about to walk towards their gate when she accidentally threw a glance at my direction. My eyebrows creased in curiosity and she had the same expression on her face upon seeing me. She looked familiar...

I decided to go out of our gate to confirm my suspicion.

"Juno?" I asked hesitantly and when she smiled and nodded her head, that confirmed it. I smiled at her.

"Maggie? Is that you?" She sounded a little bit unsure and that made me chuckle.

"Yes. The one and only." We both squealed happily and then approached each other for a hug.

"Oh, my God! I didn't recognize you right away." She said enthusiastically after that.

"Me too. I was unsure if it was really you because it has been so long since the last time we saw each other. So, you finally came back here in the US after more than a decade. How's your parents? Don't tell me, you came home alone?" I questioned. Juno Alexia Morgan was my childhood friend and school mate before they moved to Greece.

We were very close because aside from being neighbors, our families were friends. Our fathers were both businessmen.

I noticed that her face suddenly became sad. "Yes. I came back alone." A forced smile appeared on her lips. "Daddy has passed away six months ago while mom is not in good condition to fly." I was surprised of her answer. I didn't expect that.

"I'm sorry about that. I didn't know that your father already passed away." I answered guiltily.

"It' okay. You don't have to feel bad. Mom and I are trying our best to move on even though it's very difficult to do so."

I held her hand. "You haven't changed. You're still so transparent when it comes to what you feel." That made her chuckle and I was relieved because the sadness in her eyes disappeared.

"And you're still the same old Maggie. Cheerful and strong-willed." Am I? I wasn't sure if the old Maggie was still in me because ever since I married Marco, I changed a lot. Now that we're having a major problem in our relationship, I felt like I've turned into a coward; scared to face him.

"Yeah. Anyway, it's good that I saw you today. Why don't we hang out sometime?" I asked. She nodded her head.

"Sure. Just tell me when and I'll be there." She assured me. We chatted for about five minutes more until we parted ways. She asked me to come with her inside their house but I declined because I knew that she was tired of her flight and I didn't want to disturb her.

I went back to our house. It was already almost 5 pm when Christine arrived. I didn't expect her to come home because last week, in everyone's shock, she got married. Everything was so sudden that I didn't have the chance to digest everything. When I tried to ask her when she and her boyfriend met, she just smiled.

I've never thought that she would get married almost four months after her graduation because she never introduced her boyfriend to us. But apparently, my father knew about Jace.

My parents came home for their wedding but they went back to Texas right after the wedding that I didn't even have the chance to talk to my father. I wanted to ask him a lot of questions but the timing wasn't right.

Just last week, my sister moved in with her husband Jace.

Now, she's here and she looked down again. When I came home two weeks ago, I noticed the significant changes in my sister's behavior even though she has been trying to act normal in front of me.

When I couldn't take it anymore, I interrogated her and that was when she told me what happened to Carina, her best friend. I was shocked to hear everything that happened during my absence. Apparently, Regan and Carina became lovers but almost a month ago, Carina left Regan when she discovered about Tiffany.

Now, my sister's best friend was nowhere to be found and Christine has been blaming herself. She cried on my shoulder and told me that she hid the fact that Reg was married from Carina.

Ever since then, she's been awfully down. Even during her wedding, she looked like she wasn't herself.

"You came here alone? Where is Jace?" I asked casually. I was in the living room, watching a movie when she arrived. She sat down beside me and then leaned the back of her head against the headrest. She then released a long breath.

"He's at work." She answered.

"Ah. So, how's work? You look stressed out." I commented with crinkled forehead.

"As usual. Work is boring as hell."

"Really? Well, it's a good timing then. It's Luna's birthday today and she invited us to her party tonight. It's been a while since we went to a party so you should come too." She closed her eyes.

"Yeah, I'll come. But I won't be able to go with you at the same time because I need to go somewhere first with my other high school friends. They will be there at the party too because they're acquainted with Luna as well. I'll just see you at the party then." She then stood up. "I'll just go freshen up."

"Okay. Nancy prepared a snack so come down when you finished." I wanted to ask her why she came home but she looked like she doesn't want to talk about it.

"Okay." She then went upstairs. After about 15 minutes, she came down and we ate the snack that Nancy prepared for us. We chatted while eating and she shared that Regan was going nuts already because he couldn't find Carina until now.

I couldn't help but to feel bad for Regan but I felt bad for Carina as well. She's been through a lot and she didn't deserve to be hurt like that. Even though Regan was my cousin, I couldn't blame her for leaving him when she discovered his secret.

After eating our snack, we started preparing for the party. Then, I remembered something and called Luna. I told her that Juno came back and she told me to invite her on her stead. It was already past 7:30 pm when I dialed Juno's number.

Thankfully, we exchanged contact numbers earlier.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Juno. Are you busy?" I asked, hoping silently that she wasn't.

"No. Why?"

"Do you want to come with me? I'm going out with my friends tonight to have fun. You just came back here in the USA so why don't you go out and have fun with us?" I asked. I deliberately didn't tell her that we would be going to Luna's party so that she would be surprised.

"Sure. Why not?" She agreed.

"I'm glad to hear that. I'll be there in 30 minutes. I'll finish what I'm doing here. See you later." I then ended the call and continued prepping myself up.

After about half an hour, I went out of the house and went to Maggie's house. Christine already left about an hour ago.

I rang their doorbell. I couple of seconds later and Juno came out of their main door to open the gate.

"Don't bother bringing your car. We'll just use my car. We're neighbors so it's okay." I said with a smile while dangling my keys before her face. She nodded her head. We then hit the road. While we were on our way, we chatted about random stuff.

"So, how's your sister now? Why didn't you bring her with us?" Juno asked curiously.

"Christine? She's already at the venue with our friends. Do you really think that she could let me go out and have fun without her?" I joked and she laughed.

"Well, nothing has changed then." She answered amusedly. It was my turn to laugh. After about 20 minutes, we finally arrived at Luna's place. The loud music was blaring from the inside of the house.

"C'mon, Juno. Let's go." I told her excitedly and pulled her by the hand. It has been a while. My mind was already tired and stressed out these past two weeks because of Marco and I wanted to forget about all that for now. I wanted to go wild and get wasted tonight and no one could stop me!

I saw my former classmates and friends there at the party and introduced Juno to them. Luna and Juno got reunited and they were so happy seeing each other again.

We drunk and danced to our hearts' content after that. We partied so hard that night and I momentarily forgot about Marco.

When the party was over around 11 pm, everyone decided to go home because most of us were already drunk.

Just when we were about to get inside the car, I spoke my mind.

"It' still too early for us to go home. Why don't we go to the club? I'll treat you, guys." I offered.

"Maggie, I know that you have a problem right now but we can't just drag Juno wherever we want to. It's already late." Christine protested and Juno got surprised of what she heard.

"You have a problem?" She asked worriedly. The happy feeling inside of me died down in an instant. Great! Just when I already forgot about my problems.

"Yes. She left her husband and now, she's here, moping around." My sister answered and I glared at her. She's such a blabbermouth!

"I didn't know that you're already married." She looked surprised. I sighed.

"Yeah. You can say that." I answered with a small voice, couldn't shake off the sadness within me. But then, I tried not to show it to them. I didn't want to ruin our night.

"Let's go to the club then. I don't know what your problem is right now but if you need some entertainment, let's go." It was Juno.

"Are you sure it's okay with you?" I asked hesitantly and she nodded her head. Later on, we found ourselves at TBG club. It has been a while since I last stepped foot in there and it was kinda nostalgic. Christine and I went to the restroom after we managed to find ourselves a table.

"Hey, Mags. I agreed for us to come here to have fun but not to drink even more. I'm already tipsy. I don't have a plan to drive while drunk." My sister said while I was currently retouching my make-up in front of the mirror.

"Don't worry, Tin. I'm still alright. I'll be the one to drive." I assured her and she shook her head.

"Remember that we have Juno with us. She looks like she's not used to these kinds of stuff so don't drink too much." I released a breath and then faced her.

"Actually, I want to get wasted tonight, Tin." I admitted. Her eyes widened.

"Maggie!" She rebuked but I just chuckled.

"You're here with me that's why I'm not worried about myself. C'mon, let's go back to Juno. She's waiting for us." She shook her head in disbelief but didn't say anything more. We went back to our table but to our surprise, Juno was nowhere to be found.

We tried to find her everywhere for a couple of minutes but we didn't see her anywhere inside. We were already so worried and on the verge of panicking. Just when we were about to go out to search for her outside, we finally found her. She apologized and told us that she saw someone she knew and talked to that person.

After that, the party started again. We danced to our hearts' content, got drunk some more and had fun. I've never got wasted like this before but I didn't care. All I wanted was to forget about Marco and I's situation for the meantime.

When we got tired of dancing, we went back to our table to rest and chat. I felt like my vision was starting to get blurry already but I ignored it.

While we were happily chatting, Jace suddenly arrived and forced Christine to go home with him. I didn't know what happened between them, but I guess, they quarreled that's why my sister came home today. Juno was panicking and worried of what happened that's why I told her the truth.

"She just got married last week. Don't worry about her. Let's just go home." I said and then stood up. I felt tired already and the urge to sleep was already pulling me. Because of that, I lost my balance but thankfully, I managed to hold onto the edge of the table.

"Oh, my...Looks like I'm drunk." I laughingly said. I felt like I was floating in mid-air. Juno and I were supporting each other while on our way towards the exit. Both drunk. But suddenly, we ran into Kyrus.

"Hey, Mags. It's nice to see you here. This is strange. I didn't know that you came home from Australia. Where's your husband?" I raised an eyebrow at him. We just met two weeks ago that's why I didn't get why he said that.

Then, I noticed the expression on his face. He intentionally said that to remind me of Marco. Damn him!

"Shut up, Kyrus! Don't ever remind me of that man!" I answered in irritation and he laughed.

"Why? Don't tell me, you two already got divorced?!" He sounded sarcastic that's why I glared at him. His amusement died down and sighed in defeat.

"Okay. I get it. You don't need to glare at me like that."

I sneered at him even though I didn't have much strength to stand up anymore.

"Let's go." I pulled Juno's hand and was about to take a step forward but I felt like the work spin in a fast motion that I lost my balance. Damn! I'm drunk alright.

"Man. Your husband will kill me if I'll leave you here in this state." I heard Kyrus say before I blacked out. All the alcohol I've consumed got into me and kicked me out.

I didn't know what happened after that. When I woke up, I started panicking when I saw that I was in an unfamiliar room.

I sat up right away and looked around. I sighed in relief when I saw Kyrus sleeping on the couch. Then I remembered Juno. I shook his shoulder to wake him up.

"What?" He groaned, obviously wanted to sleep more.

"Where are we? Where is Juno?"

"I don't know where your friend is." He answered huskily and was about to sleep again when I pulled his hand and forced him to sit up.

"Let's go find her!" I hissed and he groaned again. He looked like a sleepy baby.

"Kyrus!" He finally opened his eyes.

"I'm sure, she's fine." I glared at him. He sighed in defeat.

"Fine. Let's find her together." When we went out of the room, I finally realized that we were in Brey's house but I still couldn't help but to get worried of Juno. I was the one who invited her to go out so I must make sure that she's unharmed. We were at the hallway when we ran into her and Brey.

"Oh, my God! Where have you been? I thought something bad happened to you or you might have got kidnapped already because I couldn't find you anywhere!" I voiced out loudly upon seeing her. I was relieved.

"I'm fine. Mr. Amou---I mean Brey and I just discussed about something important." She answered with an uncomfortable smile and that made me furrow at her.

"I told you, she's fine but you didn't believe me." Kyrus interrupted.

"Shut up, Kyrus! This is your fault! Why did you bring us here at Brey's house anyway? What if my husband came here?!" I didn't know why I suddenly got worried that Marco might find out that I slept in Brey's house. Knowing him, he would get insanely jealous for sure.

"I brought you two here with me because I couldn't just leave you behind at the bar last night. I didn't have the energy to drive you home so I decided to bring you here. Besides, I think it's better if my best friend come here right now so that you two could fix your problem. Not like this that you're hiding from him." He answered. My eyes widened when I realized something. Don't tell me he called him?

"I think, Kyrus did the right thing. Your husband will be mad if he heard about you going to a bar. Even I don't like the idea that my girlfriend here went to that kind of place last night." My jaw dropped because of what Brey just said.

"What? Did I hear it right, man? She's your girlfriend?" Kyrus questioned in disbelief. Then Brey proceeded on confirming that he and Juno were an item already. According to him, they just had a misunderstanding that's why Juno came to the US to follow him in order to apologize.

I noticed that Juno's cheeks reddened because of what he said. I mentally shook my head, wasn't convince of their so called 'relationship'.

After that, Kyrus offered to drop me and Juno off at our house but I declined. He was about to answer when the maid came.

"Sir, you have a visitor." She informed Brey. His eyebrows furrowed.

"Who is it?"

It's Mr. Pearce, sir." My eyes widened upon hearing that. My breath got literally got trapped in my throat and didn't know what to do.

"Sh*t!" I grunted as panic took over me. I wasn't ready to face him yet so I decided to run. But before I could even take a step away, Marco and his two men came in and he had a serious look on his face. I gulped hard as my heart thumped crazily. Oh, God...
