Luna

To my surprise, Ares had planned our Los Angeles to be our date destination. I never had a chance to visit LA before, but now Ares had checked it off my list.

We had a romantic breakfast at a local café. Well, it was kind of romantic, because Axel was a rather unpleasant third wheel and he was starting to annoy me from his constant whining.

All of my life I had always seen him as a smoldering, quiet, intense person, but now I feel like he was more of an attention seeking, annoying little child, who had time to realize the fact that things don't always go according to his plan.

I shot an exasperated glance at Axel and sent Ares a pleading look, silently asking him to get rid of his annoying friend.

He reached out to tuck my hair behind my ear, dropping a kiss on my forehead. If it was possible, then I would've melted right there. His lips soon molded with mine, the softness of his lips caressing mine, sucking on them, biting a little.

“Geez, leave the girl alone, Ares,” Axel scoffed. “Or get her inside a room,” he added.

We both pulled apart. My face undoubtedly had reddened and I blushed even further when Ares winked at me. He kept a firm grip on my blonde locks, tossing it to one side.

“Just be grateful that I let you tag along with us.”

I laughed and Axel narrowed his eyes at my boyfriend. Sometimes I loved the proud, cold asshole attitude of Ares. Not always.

We had a range rover waiting to take us to our next destination. I walked hand in hand with Ares, his tall figure towered over me, making me feel small and docile.

“You still haven't told me why we are here?”

His lips turned upwards. “You'll know soon, baby moon.”

Once inside the car, I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes momentarily. We were supposed to stop at Cartier to help Axel choose an engagement and wedding ring for his girlfriend.

I'd never been to a Cartier store ever in my life, so I was thrilled to explore it on my first and potentially, only time inside the jewel embedded treasure hut.

Ares helped me out of the car, behaving like a dream boyfriend. My hand in his palm, he led the way for us. I chose to concentrate on my lavish surroundings instead of the fact that Ares’ touch sent jolts on electricity through me.

I still haven’t gotten used to his touch. It oddly felt unreal, like it was all a dream and anytime I'll wake up missing the way he made me feel.

Ares held out the large glass doors for me, my booted feet stepped inside the store, it's energy palpable. The interior had golden touches to it. It felt timeless.

I immediately felt self conscious, intimidated from the monstrosity of the wealth that surrounded me.

After spending so much time with Ares, I had learned not to let my guard down and be intimidated easily. I did my best to appear as the image of a person who was accustomed to luxurious surroundings.

It was easier to fit in the image that was drawn inside my head and Ares made it more believable. The store’s associates approached us, showering me with their utmost attention and care.

We were soon shown inside a room which sat cosily under a reinforced glass roof. The room itself screamed diamonds, gold and money. I found myself to be actually enjoying this experience.

“Mr. Trent, thank you for waiting.” The primed manager flashed Axel a sweet smile. “Please allow me to show you our collection.”

I tried very hard to conceal my facial reactions to the beautiful intricate designs that were shown to us. They all were so perfect, I was barely able to keep my emotions intact.

“You like that one?’ Ares leaned closer to speak directly in my ear, his hot breath kissing my skin.

I was in love with this one beautiful ring. It had a rose gold platinum band with diamonds intricately wrapped around it and a soft teardrop diamond in the middle of it.

The ring had a romantic aura to it.

I blushed at the closeness. “Uhm, yeah. This one looks very pretty. I can't take my eyes off it.”

His left arm rested around my waist while he used his free hand to chuck under my chin, making me stare into his charismatic amazon green eyes.

“It doesn't even compare to your beauty. Do you realize I've been walking with a hard on ever since I saw you in that outfit?”

Oh, God. Why did he have to sound so sexy?

I melted under his gaze, but quickly tilted my head to the side.

Axel couldn't put his finger on which ring he liked the best so he decided to purchase the five designs he liked the most.

My eyes threatened to pop out of its sockets when I heard the price of his purchase. God, rich boys really had no regard for money anymore.

“Now that you're done… I think it's time for you to leave us alone,” I said, the moment we stepped outside of the store. “You've intruded enough on our date.”

It was no surprise that my pointed words were indicated at Axel.

“Ouch.” He rubbed his chest, feigning hurt. “I do have places to be, but I cannot miss what's to come next.” He laughed.

My eyes drifted from him to Ares, not understanding his words. The inquisitive side of me wanted to demand answers from him, but I chose to let Ares speak.

“What’s he saying Ares?’

Ares shot Axel a death glare, then took my palms in his.

“The reason why I planned our day here in LA was because of Olive Jacques.” My brain mentally churned the familiar tone of the name. I had heard it before, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I continued to stare at him, dumbfounded.

To ease my brain, he continued with his words. “Olive Jacques is a world famous stylish and fashion designer.”

“He's Jennifer Aniston’s stylist,” I completed the sentence for him when the name clicked in my head. “But why is he the reason for our date?”

My boyfriend gave me his quirky grin and I braced myself for what he had to say. “Since you're going to be my date for prom, I figured who'd need a beautiful dress to do justice to your intoxicating eyes and beauty. So who's better than him to find you a perfect fit?”

My heart clenched and the air left my veins. What???

“Ares, are you freaking joking?” I didn’t want to believe the fact he had asked me to be his date for prom. “You want me to be your date for prom?”

He looked at me as if I had slipped the ladder of intellectual ability.

“Who else would I take?”

“How about you ask me first?” I was frustrated beyond control. “You’re insufferable. How could you not properly ask me to be your date?”

“Why should I ask you when I know what your answer is going to be.”

A chuckle rang around us and I saw Axel enjoying our little argument.

“This is just perfect,” Axel muttered under his breath. “See bro, I warned you this will happen.”
