You hear the gun shot. People scream and they begin to run and you follow them. You can't see the shooter, but the shooter can see you. And the barrel of the gun is pointed right at you. Only a few seconds left until safety. Only a few seconds, but that's all he needs...a few seconds, a few measly seconds.

He pulls the trigger.

"Come on Ky, your taking too long," I said opening the door to Ky's bedroom. He was standing there wearing blue jeans with his white shirt in his hand. He was shirt less, my eyes slowly trailed up and down his body, seeing his muscles moved as he breathed in and out. I bit my lower lip and I quickly brought my eyes back up to his. He was giving me a cocky smile.

"Hurry up and get your shirt on," I said looking at him.

"Why? Am I distracting you?" He said with a cocky grin on his face.

"No," I said lying, like I was going to tell him that his body was distracting me. Yeah, nope.

"If I'm not distracting then come put my shirt on for me," he said holding the shirt up in my direction.

I shook my head, "Ky, I'm not putting your shirt on for you."

"Why not?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Because your dad wants us to do the morning patrol. Now come on."

"Only if you put my shirt on."

I gave him a look and cross my arms in front of my chest. He raised an eyebrow and gave me a cocky grin.

"Or you can tell me that I'm distracting you?"

I sighed, "you are stubborn," I said closing the door behind me.

I began to walk to him. He smiled at me satisfied, ready to get what he wanted. I walked until I was only inches away from him.

"Alright, hand me the shirt."

I reached for the shirt, but Ky pulled it away from me putting it on his bed behind him. I crossed my arms and gave him a look.

"What? I can't get a kiss first," Ky said putting his hands on my waist and pulling me towards him.

"You really are despicable," I said as I hit his bare chest with my fist, our bodies now touching.

"And you're adorable, but who's complaining," he said as he rubbed his lips softly on mine.

I gasped as his hands wrapped around me, I soon wrapped my arms around him. His hot breath made my lips tingle, I clawed my hands down his back. A growl of affection escaped from his mouth as I clawed my nails gently across his bare back. He slammed his lips into mine, trailing his tongue on my bottom lip. I opened my mouth letting his tongue taste me, explore me, my arms tighten around him bringing him closer to me. He grabbed a fist full my hair, I gasped as his fingers brushed along my bare skin.

His arm on my waist tighten, bringing me closer to him. Our bodies began to mold together, making us fill that we were one person. One soul. He moved his lips against mine passionately, I moved my lips, wanting him more and more. My heart began to pound and my body became hot, we released each other, gasping for air. I nuzzled his neck as we panting for air, my hot breath raising goose bumps on his skin. I trailed my hand from the his back to the top of his shoulder. His breath hitched as my fingers traced his distinctive collar bone, I slowly traced my hand down his chest all the way to his stomach. Moans escaped from his mouth as my hands trailed down his soft bare skin, I smiled against him, taking in his scent. I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked at him, his eyes were filled with so much passion that just by looking at them it made my heart pound. I smiled and pecked his lips.

"Come on, we've got to go. Your dad's going to yell at us," I said stepping away from him and heading for his bedroom door.

"Where are you going, your still have to put on my shirt for me." Ky said with a smirk.

I looked at him and grinned, "No I don't."

He looked at me puzzled, "why not?"

"Because," I said while opening the door, "you're too distracting."

"Why yo-"

"Ha ha ha, so hurry up Ky."

He stick his tongue out at me. I retaliated by sticking out my own tongue at him and I walked out the door.

I began to walk down the hallway to the stairs, it's been more than a week since that day that Lucas touched me in science and Ky was about to go wolf on him. So far it has been peaceful, extremely peaceful, but......

My mind went to Jason. I haven't seen or heard from him in weeks, it's like he disappeared. I'm worried about him, why did he said that it was "unthinkable" that I would be Ky's mate? Why did he walk away not saying a word or giving a reason? Where are you Jason...where are you hiding? Why did you disappear? Why?

Jason......why?

As my thinking stopped, I suddenly found out where I was. I was outside, right in front of the woods. I guess I was thinking too much that I wasn't paying attention to where I was. But it didn't matter I was in the right place, it was Saturday and Alpha Cain wanted me and My to do the morning patrol. The morning patrol is when we select two wolves and they have to scan the edge of our territory, so no enemy packs can come in a claim part of it. A long time ago, when this town was nothing but a few houses and trees, the wolf packs that were here had a meeting to discuss who's land was who's. The Eclipse Pack, our pack had the most land because Ky's ancestors were the first ones here, so there had been many attempts from the other packs wanting to come and still part of our land.

Where is Ky? I thought as I looked around, puzzled on why it was taking him so long.

* Meanwhile in the bushes of the woods *

"Look there she is," a deep voice said.

"Are you sure that's her?" another voice asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure. Do I look like an idiot?"

"No, but can it really be her?"

The two owners of the voices were hiding in the bushes near the Alpha house of the Eclipse Pack. They watched Serena as she paced back and forth waiting for Ky.

"Yes, I know it's her. The moment I saw her, I knew she was the one. Can't you see it?"

"I can tell that there is something special about her, but I don't know if she the one."

"I don't care what you say, I want her and only her!"

"Okay, okay, calm down."

"Don't tell me to calm down, learn your place," the deep voice growled at his companion.

"Learn my place! What are you talking about, I'm the same rank as you ar-"

Just then Ky came out of the house and walked to Serena.

"Shh, come on we got to get out of here."

"Why?"

"What do you mean "why"? Because Alpha' s can sense another Alpha miles away and were only twenty feet. Moron!"

"What about the girl?"

"We'll have to wait for that, now come on!"

The two owner's of the voices ran away, trying not to be sensed or caught.

* Serena' s P.O.V *

"It's about time you got here," I said looking at him and crossing my arms in front of my chest.

"Hey, don't blam-"

He froze and his eyes went from me to a section of the woods behind me. His eyes scanned the area, as if he thought something was there, or if something was there. I turned around and I followed Ky's eyes with my own. My eyes scanned the woods, I saw nothing, I smelled nothing, I turned around and looked at Ky. His eyes were blazing red.

"Ky?" I asked taking a step closer to him.

He didn't look at me, he stood there frozen.

"Ky?" I said louder.

Nothing.

"Ky!?" I said putting my hands on the side of his face and making him look at me.

He looked down at me, his eyes subsiding to their original golden brown. He shook his head between my hands, snapping him out of what trance he was just in. He exhaled.

"Sorry, Serena. I......I thought I saw something."

I sighed and turned away from him, wrapping my arms around my self.

"Don't scare me like that," I said.

The last time Ky froze like that was when we were 14 years old. We were playing right here, in this very spot, he froze, his eyes turned red as he looked at the woods. But when me and the others looked nothing was there, but suddenly out of no where, a giant grizzly bear came out of the woods and attacked us. We were only 14 back then, not ready to fight, five of the kids that were playing with us got hurt...including me.

Ky remembered this all to well. He remembered the sound if people screaming and the growling of our parents fighting off the bear in their wolf forms. All I remember is the bear's claw cutting my arm open as it through me across the yard. Ky came to me, wrapping me in his arms, trying to protect me. No one died, but someone easily could have.

"Serena," he said passionately with a hint of worry.

I could hear is foot steps as he walked closer to me. His rock hard chest touched my shoulder blades as he wrapped his arms around me. His lips kissed the back of my neck and his arms tightened around me, reassuring me that what happened back then is not what is happening right now.

"I'm sorry, Serena. I promise I won't scare you like that again."

I turned my head to look at him and smiled. "Thank you," I said and I kissed his cheek. He smiled back.

"Now come on," he said while stepping in front of me.

"Where burning day light," He said and he changed into his wolf form.

I watched as Ky's eyes turned bright red, as his body changed with black fur covering it. Then there he was, the strong and powerful black wolf, the next Alpha of our pack. I admired his beautiful black fur, how it shined in the sunlight every time he moved, his vibrant red eyes as they looked at me with a burning passion I had never seen until now.

"Well?" He asked tilting his head to the side waiting for me to change. He looked like a big and adorable puppy when he tilted his head to the side, I couldn't help but to give out a little chuckle. Then I changed into my wolf form, my eyes changing blue as my white fur covered my changing body. I then stood in front of Ky in my wolf form, it's funny how different we looked in our wolf forms. His eyes were blazing red, while mine were a vibrant blue, his coat was pitch black, while mine was snow white, it was like we were the reincarnation of Yin and Yang.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Yes, Alpha."

"Stop calling me that," he said softly.

"Why?" I asked as one of my ears tilted to the side curious. I walked up until I was right next to him, he was taller than me by two inches.

"Because, your my Luna. You shouldn't have to call me "Alpha"." He said as we began to walk into the woods.

"Why, your mother calls your dad "Alpha" all the time? And besides...I'm still your Beta."

"No your not."

"Yes I am, I'm not your Luna until you...," I swallowed the lump that was in my throat, "......claim me."

He stopped and he gave me a smirk.

"W-what?"

"Let's make a deal, you either have to stop calling me "Alpha" or..."

He brought his muzzle closer to mine, "......I claim you before you are ready."

I blushed, "You are despicable."

"Ha ha ha ha, if it get' s you to stop calling me Alpha. Than yes, I am despicable," He said as we began to walk again.

I sighed, "Alright, I'll stop calling you "Alpha"."

"Yes!"

"But that means you can't claim me until I say so," a cocky grin grew on my face.

"Damn it!"

We both laughed, our voices filling the air of the still and silent woods.

Hours passed and we had covered almost the whole boundary when I heard something in the distance.

"What was that?" I asked as I perked my ears up to get a better hear.

"What was what?" Ky asked turning around to look at me.

It was silent and then I heard it again as clear as a door bell, "you had to of heard that?"

"Serena...I don't hear anything."

"How do you not hear-" I heard it again...laughter. It was laughter and it wasn't far away either.

"Serena, what do you hear?"

"Laughter and it's not far away. Follow me," I said running towards the laughter.

"Serena, wait! Hold on!" Ky protested bit I didn't listen I just kept running towards the laughter.

I ran over hills, jumped over rocks and tree stumps, through the trees. I could hear Ky running behind me, he was right on my heels following me. As we got closer, the laughter got louder and louder until finally, we found the source. We stopped, staying hidden in the trees, looking onto the laughing pups that were in the giant grassy meadow in front of us.

"It's the Shadow Pack," Ky said walking up right next to me.

"They're right on the boundary," I said as we looked at them.

"But they haven't crossed it. Let's watch them to make sure they don't," he said laying down on the ground, his paws laid in front of him.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking down at him.

"You don't know how long they're going to be here," he said looking up at me.

I sighed and laid down next to him, his body brushing up against my own. I let my paws lay out in front of me, I kept my head up as I watched the pups play. There were 8 pups, 5 boys and 3 girls, Then there were two other wolves, they were our age and I could tell one of them was an Alpha. My eyes were scanning the Alpha and the other boy he had with them. The Alpha had jet black hair and brown eyes, the boy he had with him was blonde with blue eyes.

"Alpha Drake," Ky said.

"What?" I asked looking at him.

"That's Alpha Drake, he is the next leader of the Shadow Pack. The boy with him is one of his Betas, Joshua."

"How do y-"

"I met him at the training school I went to for two years."

"Oh," I said as I looked back at the Alpha, the Beta, and the pups.

"Now, can you do me a favor..." Ky began as I looked at him.

He closed his eyes in frustration, I tilted my head to the side, my ears perking up in interest.

"Can you stop gawking at the damn Alpha before I do something uncalled for."

My breath hitched trying to make my laughter not come out. Ky looked at me, giving me an annoyed look, I looked away, trying so hard not trying to laugh. But I couldn't contain it, my barrier had broken down and the laughter poured out of my mouth.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha," I let all the laughter out.

"Will you stop laughing," Ky said with an embarrassed expression on his face.

I looked at him, his head was turned away from me. I smiled at him, once he heard My laughter had stopped, he turned his head and looked at me. I gave out a little chuckle as I nuzzled My head in his neck.

"You get jealous so damn easily," I said with laughter in my voice.

"Shut up," he said as he leaned into me.

I giggled. The warm rays of the sun were warming our bodies as we laid there watching the members of the Shadow Pack. I enjoyed seeing the pups play, the Alpha and Beta were in their humans forms as they watched the pups of the pack.

"Hey can I ask you something?" I asked as I stopped leaning on Ky, holding my head up.

"What?"

"Does Alpha Drake have a mate?"

"What are you trying to say?"

I gave Ky a look, "Ky I only have room for one Alpha in my life and that's you. Now will you answer the question?"

He exhaled, "no, he hasn't found his mate yet."

"I see," I said looking onto the group and then there was silence.

"So only room for one Alpha in your life, hun?" Ky said breaking the short moment of silence.

"Yep only for one Alpha."

He smirked, "good."

"But...there's still room for a Beta as well," I said teasing him. He looked at me and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Why you-"

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha, just kidding," I said showing him my purely whites. Then I heard something and I froze. I perked my ears up and craned my neck up higher, stretching it. Ky saw my sudden posture and worry filled his eyes.

"Serena, what is it?"

I stood up, lifting my body of the forest ground. My ears still perked as I walked up closer to the meadow.

"I heard something," I said taking a step closer to the meadow.

I perked my ears up as I heard whispering, it was coming from the left side of me. So I focused all my hearing on the whispers.

"You shoot the blonde, then I'll shoot the black haired one."

"What about the pups?"

They were two men and by the sound of their voices, the owner of the first voice was at least 30 years old, the second 20. I took another step towards the meadow.

"Serena what are you doing, if you step over the boundary th-"

"Shh, they're talking."

"Who's talking?"

"That what I'm trying to find out, now shh!"

I perked my ears again, straining even harder to hear them. That's when I heard the unloading of a gun as the bullets fell into their hands.

"Hand me the Reph bullets," the 30 year old man said.

"Are you sure about this? They haven't done anything wrong?" The 20 year old boy protested.

"They existed that's what they've done wrong! Now hand me those damn Reph bullets!"

My heart stopped when I heard the 20 year old boy hand him the Reph bullets.

"Serena? Who are they?"

I swallowed, "They're Reapers."

"Reapers!" Ky said with a sense of urgency.

"Shh, they're talking again."

I perked my ears higher.

"So tell me, which one am I shooting again?" The 20 year old boy asked.

"The Beta you idiot. You get the Beta and I get the Alpha. Now get ready."

I looked at Ky, "They're going to shoot Alpha Drake and his Beta! We have to warn them!" I began to run into the meadow, pass the boundary when Ky stopped me.

"Serena, are you insane! if you pass the boundary-"

Just then, I heard the loading of the gun as the bullets fell into place. The clicking as they locked the chamber close, sealing the bullets inside.

I ran out into the meadow, passing the boundary. Ky chasing after me, Alpha Drake and his Beta Joshua looked at us, ready to fight. Joshua stood in front of the children as Alpha Drake changed into his wolf form.

"Run!" I screamed at him.

He gave me a confused look, "Run!" I screamed again.

He didn't understand, I ran up until I was only a few feet away from him, Ky stood next to me. Just a few inches closer to Alpha Drake than I was.

"What is the meaning of this, Ky?" Alpha Drake protested.

"You need to go now!" I barked.

"Go? Why?"

"Because, they're trying to kill you," I said. The Reapers were positioning themselves amongst the trees.

"Kill me? Who's trying to kill me?"

"They Reapers! You need to go now!" The Reapers had their finger on the trigger.

"And why should I believe you?!"

"Just trust me-"

Just then a gun shot went off, the bullet went flying, just missing a pup by inches. Joshua and Drake both looked at me stunned.

"Go, go!" I said and they turned around and ran. Joshua and all the pups transformed into their wolf forms in mid run.

"Ky, get them back to Drakes house now!" We began to mind link.

"Right! What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to stay in the back, to make sure no pups get left behind."

"Be careful."

"I will, now go!"

Ky ran in front of the group, with Joshua at his side, the pups ran behind them as me and Drake took the back. All I could hear were gun shots and the frantic breathing of wolves as we ran, my heart was pounding and let's face it I was scared out of my mind. Just then a pup fell, I stopped to help it up, shielding it from the side the Reapers were shooting. The group kept running, they were 10 feet away when the she pup finally got back up on her feet. I pushed her with my muzzle to run and she ran like the Dickens. She caught up to the group before I did, I began to run, only 5 feet away from the group.

That's when another gun shot went off......when I felt the bullet go threw my body.

Hi guys, I know what your thinking. "Nooo! how can end the chapter right here! Right when Serena get' s shot!" Well, I have to keep you interested and a cliff hanger like this is going to do that. I know, I'm terrible. But we all know you love me ;P

I bet this would raise some questions like:

*Is Serena dead?

*What are Reapers?

*What's a Reph bullet?

*Are they the same people who were watching her when she was waiting for Ky?

*Who were the people watching Serena?

Probably these questions and maybe alot more, I am hoping.
