The warm hot sun beated down on the golden green meadow. The meadow shined and glimmered as the forest trees surrounded it in it's darkness. Butterflies flew as the birds sang on this beautiful cool day.

It has been a few weeks since we came back from our spring break and went back to school. Today all the pups of the pack wanted to go to the forest to play, so me, Ky, the betas, and Alpha Cain took all the pups to the meadow that belonged in our territory. As I watched the pups play and chase each other in the meadow, I sat under a tree on a blanket that we had brought. My brother, Robert, was the oldest pup of them all, he was already 10 and in 6 years...he won't be called a pup any more. I watched as my brother chased the girl named Annabelle, she was only a year younger than him and the second oldest of all the pups. The pups in our packed ranged from age 4 to age 10, they were able to shift to their wolves, but they couldn't defend themselves. They wouldn't even stand a chance against a full grown wolf, no matter what rank it was.

It...it reminded me of me and Ky. Back when we were pups, I was this scared little thing while he was... much, much, different. He had Alpha blood in him, he wasn't afraid of anything, not even another Alpha when they visited. No...Ky was...Ky was brave and he was courageous, he was also...angry back then, especially when-

"What are you thinking so much about Serena?"

I snapped my head to where the voice had came from. It was Ky, he was walking over to me as he ran his fingers through his hair trying to cool off. He had just got finished playing with the pups as Sakura took over the role of looking after them, playing with them.

"Nothing," I said as he sat next to me.

"Are you sure?" He asked, a sly smile playing on his lips. He brought his face closer to mine, caressing his nose against my own as his hot breath fan my lips. I could feel all the blood rush to my cheeks as they faded to a light pink. My heart quickened as his left hand landed on the other side of my waist, trapping me on the ground.

"Y-yes," my heart was pounding like crazy. He inched closer, tracing his lips against mine, I flinched away from him.

"W-what are you doing?" I asked him nervous.

"What? I can't kiss you," he tilted his head to the side as he gave me a cocky grin.

"But the pups might see," I looked away from him, trying to escape from his grasp. I was squirming to get out of his hold and the next thing I knew I was pushed back onto my back while Ky hovered over me. He looked down on me with dark lustful eyes, I could feel my breath get heavier and heavier as he got closer and closer. I looked away from him and he chuckled.

"What are you so afraid about?" His voice was warm and comforting.

"Nothing, I-I just don't think we should be doing this while the pups are around. They...they might get the wrong idea." I admitted bashfully as I continue to stare away from him. He chuckled at my response and he slowly...brought his mouth to my neck.

"Is it really so bad for them to see how much I love you?" He spoke against my neck. He stroked his lips against my skin, sending a sudden chill up my spine. I could just feel my heart pound as my eyes fluttered close enjoying the sweet sensation that his touch inflicted. His hot breath fanned my neck as he trailed wet kisses, sucking and nibbling on my skin. I unconsciously arched my neck back, giving him more access as he swirled his tongue sending sparks all through my body. I could already feel my body getting warm and heated as my heart pounded uncontrollably.

"Ah," I gasped as he found my sweet spot on my neck, licking and nibbling at it as he pleased. He moved his mouth to my ear biting at my ear lobe, making me shudder at the feel of it.

"Serena," he whispered passionately. "Serena, please look at me, I need you right now."

I didn't move, I couldn't move as my mind was hazy adding on to the effect of his addicting touch on my skin.

"Serena," he said again, that's when I turned my head. His cheeks had a hint of pink as his breath was heavy, his eyes narrowed softly with passion. This was the first time I've seen Ky like this, the first time when I had seen his pure emotion, his pure emotion towards me. This expression, this emotion sent my heart on a crazy race as it pounded to win.

"Serena," he spoke passionately, inching closer towards me. His fingers trailed down my right arm sending shocks from my arm to my brain as they wrapped around my right wrist. He picked my hand up and placed it on the right side of his chest, where his heart belonged.

"Can't you feel what you do to me, Serena." I nodded as he placed his forehead on mine. His heart was pounding uncontrollably, it was even faster than mine, I blushed. He brought his lips to mine again, caressing them and this time...I didn't recoiled from him. I placed my hands on his chest earning an approving and desperate growl from him.

"Damn Serena, you don't know what you do to me," he breathed against my lips.

"Ky," I said passionately but before I could say anything else...he trailed his tongue against my lips stealing a sigh from me.

"I don't know if I can continue to control myself around you. I...I need you so badly Serena, so badly that it makes me utterly crazy!"

He then slammed his lips against mine. His lips moved with so much want and desperation that it made me weak in the knees and made my toes curled as I moved my lips with his. He trailed his tongue against my bottom lip, begging to give him entrance. I opened my lips, letting his tongue enhance our senses as he twist and twirled his tongue with mine.

"Mm," I hummed in enjoyment as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me. He explored my mouth, his tongue roaming every inch of it, my body was pulsating as my mind began to turn hazy with passion.

"Serena," he spoke releasing my lips for a second before he needed them again. The words that he had spoken to me were rang in my head as he continue to kiss me.

"You don't know what you do to me, Serena"

He ran his hands down my body, not wanting to miss any of my curves as they stopped at my waist. Electricity was shocking my body with ecstasy as I ran my hands down Ky's back earning an approving growl from him.

"I need you so badly Serena, so badly that it makes me utterly crazy!"

He swirled his tongue around mine, making a gasp escape my mouth as it enters into his. His hands tightened on my waist, making my heart pound in my ears. I clutched the back of his shirt, putting my tongue in his own mouth. I explored his tangy sweet mouth, the taste of him only made me want him more and more. Then he did something unexpected. My eyebrows came together as I became flustered. My body became inflamed as Ky sucked on my tongue making me squeeze my legs together. I clutched his shirt tighter as he continued to suck my tongue making me shiver.

It was then the wind blew and...we froze. Ky got off of me as he pulled me up with him, pulling me to his chest protectively. We could see Alpha Cain as he looked at us, he ordered all the betas to grab the pups and to get behind him. It was then that ky had let go of me, placing his arm at the back of my waist as he walked beside me to his father. The wind blew again, feeling all of our noses with the scent. It was the scent of wolves and they were not one of ours. I looked at Ky as we got closer to where his father and the rest were. Ky wasn't looking at me as he looked straight ahead, his eyes...were blazing red...which means an alpha was in the area.

"Get behind me," Ky whispered in my ear as he took his place next to his father, putting me behind him as he held my hand in his. Alpha Cain and Ky were standing in front of me as Sakura and Alice stood on each side of me as the boys stood behind each one of them. We formed a half circle around the pups, protecting them from what or who was coming. Everyone was stiff and still as the scent became closer and closer. I could hear them...I could hear their breathes as the ran, they were in their wolf forms. Their was three of them, they ran threw the forest as their paws disturbed the dirt and broke twigs. I could hear them more and more as they got closer and closer, disturbing the silence of the forest with their pants. It was then we heard a howl, I could just imagine one of the wolves throwing their heads pack and letting out a howl. We flinched once we heard the howl and every muscle in our body tightened.

We didn't flinch because we were startled or surprised by the howl. No, we flinched because the howl...was a greeting...they know we where here and they were coming. As they got closer, their scent got stronger. I could hear the pups whimper as they moved slightly with panic, Sakura turned around, trying to calm them down. Robert and Annabelle helped her by telling the pups that everything was going to be fine. I was glad that they were able to calm the pups cause at that very moment, they had arrived. They walked out of the woods into the meadow, the sun lighting up their coats as their eyes blazed at the smell of our scent, our eyes did the same. There was indeed three of them, one of the wolves walked in front of the other two as they walked behind him, making a triangle. On the right was a male wolf with a bronze coat as his eyes beamed yellow. On the left was a tan wolf as his eyes beamed yellow. But in the middle...was the most powerful wolf of both of them. He was bigger, standing half a foot above them as he held his head high. His coat was as black as night as his eyes blazed a bloody red, this...was the Alpha and the other two, were his Betas. They walked over to us with elegance and pride as they looked upon us, scanning us. The Alpha's eyes landed on me, staying on me as if...he saw something unusual.

They stopped in front of us, shifting to their human form. The bronze wolf had changed to a boy about our age, his hair was a copper brown as his eyes were green. The tan wolf was another boy our age, except his hair was blonde while his eyes were a vibrant blue. The Alpha was tall, he was about the same age as Cain, his skin was pale as his hair and eyes were pitched black. His eyes made my skin crawled as he glanced between me and Alpha Cain. Then...he smiled, a smile That did not reach to his eyes.

"Hello, were new to the area and we thought we would meet our distant neighbors," he slurred the word "neighbors" like a snake would hiss.

Cain put on a facade smile. Putting on a mask of pure welcoming but we all knew on the inside that he wanted them out of his territory and away from his family.

"Welcome, do you mind telling us your names?" Cain said hallow. The Alpha smirked as his eyes flickered.

"Of course not, I'm..." He paused as he placed his hand on his chest. "...I'm Alpha Rick and these are my two Betas, Mike." He pointed to the boy with bronze hair and green eyes. " And his twin brother, Caleb." He pointed to the boy with blonde hair. "Me and my wife control over the Deep Water pack. It's so very nice to meet you, would you mind telling us your names now?"

"No, of course not," Cain spoke with a baffled smile.

"My name is Alpha Cain and this is my son Ky," He placed his hand on Ky's shoulder. "And these are his betas, Serena, Sakura, Alice, Daren, and Jason." He gesture to each one of us when he had spoken our names.

"I'm the Alpha of the Eclipse pack along with my wife, Rachel. But when I retire my son will take over the Pack for me." Cain explained.

"Well, well, it seems you have a nice bunch of Betas here. All of them are fascinating, especially...that one," Alpha Rick pointed to me as something flashed in his eyes.

"Do you mind if I can...get a better look of her," he slurred. It was then that Ky had growled, his canines were showing as every muscle in his body became tense and taut. He bared his canines at the Alpha as his eyes blazed a fiery red. Alpha Cain put his arm in front of Ky's chest, telling him to stop before he did anything reckless. Rick was confused and utterly dumbfounded.

"I'm afraid not, you see...she my son's mate." Cain spoke as Ky back off, his eyes still blazing their red. I placed my forehead in the middle of Ky's back, placing my right hand on the back of his right shoulder. He exhaled deeply allowing my scent to calm him down, his hand tightened on mine.

"His...mate?!" Rick asked obviously shocked. Cain nodded in response.

"I see," Rick said placing his hand under his chin. "Isn't that...kind of hard for you for her to be your mate?" Rick asked, his eyes snapping to Ky. I could feel Ky tense up again as we both froze. Why...why does everyone keep asking that? Why do people think that me being Ky's mate is a hard thing? Is it because I'm a Beta? Am...I difficult for Ky? Am I......his burden?

"That...is none of your concern," Cain barked, making us both snap from our deep thoughts. Rick was startle at this sudden outburst as he quickly changed the subject.

"Anyway...would you like to see where we live? Just so you don't have to be so worried about us."

"I don't think that's a bad idea. Sakura, Alice, Daren, Jason," Cain barked and they all snapped their heads to look at him. "Take the pups back to the house. Serena, Ky, you two will come with me." We both nodded as the betas took the pups back to the house, shifting to their wolf form.

Cain then look back at Rick and said "lead the way."

"Certainly," Rick said slyly as him and his betas shift to their wolf forms. We did the same as we followed behind them, me and Ky were the last one's to leave the meadow. The last one's to place our black and white paws in that meadow on that faithful day.

We've been walking through the woods for some time now. Me and Ky walked side by side as we journeyed threw the woods, Following Cain as he followed the betas who followed their Alpha. I was staring at the ground as Alpha Rick's words popped back in my head.

"Isn't that...kind of hard for you for her to be your mate?"

Is it? Is it really hard for Ky for me to be his mate, his future Luna? Is it because I'm so disobedient? Or is it because I'm a Beta, who is sworn to protect their Alpha? Is it...really hard, for him when I'm his mate? Am...I a burden just placed on his shoulders? Another problem that he has to deal with? Am I-

"What's wrong Serena?" Ky asked while he mind linked me. I looked at him, snapping myself out of my deep thinking. He stared at me with blazing red eyes that were soaked in worry and concern.

"N-nothing's wrong," I adverted my gaze from him.

"Serena?" He asked sternly.

"Nothing's wrong."

He sighed as he nuzzled my cheek with his muzzle. "Don't lie to me baby. please," he begged. I could feel my cheeks turn warm as my heart skipped a beat. I looked at him, rubbing my muzzle with his, I looked into his eyes. His red eyes trapped my blue ones in a passionate gaze.

"I...I can't tell you. You won't like what I'm thinking about."

"Please tell me baby, I beg of you." He whimpered as he licked my cheek. I looked forward, continuing our walk as we followed the wolves who were ahead. I cautioned myself before I said anything more.

"Do...do you remember when...Rick said that it would be "hard" for you when I'm your mate?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well, is it hard for you for me to be your mate?" I asked, looking away from him.

He looked at me, his eyes wide with worried and shocked. "Serena, what are you saying?"

"I'm saying..." I turned my head to look at him. "...am I a burden to you?"

His eyes grew wider, "Serena-"

"WE'RE HERE!" Rick yelled as we came up into a clearing. The house was white and somewhat worn down. It wasn't as glamorous or as big as Ky's or my house, out front it had a porch, the side of the house was on a edge off a small hill, the land beside it falling down into the earth. Trees surrounded the house in their stillness as they rose high above the ground, we shifted from our wolf forms as a woman ran out of the house.

"Rick!" She yelled throwing her arms around his neck as he embraced her.

"Jena," he said softly as he loosened his embrace around her. He then turned to us, wrapping his arm around the back of her waist. She was a tall thing, she was only an inch shorter than Rick, she had long black hair that reached all the way to her waist. But it was her eyes that I was most interested in, her eyes were a vibrant blue as that was mixed in with some green. By the way Rick was holding her, I was sure that she was his Luna.

"Jena, this is Alpha Cain, his son Ky, and Ky's mate/Beta Serena."

"It's nice to meet all of you. If you couldn't already tell, my name's Jena, I'm the Luna of this pack."

"It's nice to meet you as well, Jena. By the way...I was wondering if you two have any children?" Cain asked sincerely.

The minute Cain had asked that question, Rick and Jena froze. Something had flashed in their eyes, something I couldn't catch exactly. But it seemed like they were remembering something, something they did want us to know. But it also seemed that they were hiding something...something that they didn't want us to find. They glanced at each other emotionless, then they snapped their eyes back to Cain as they flashed a genuine smile.

"No, we don't have children," Jena said a little too cheerfully.

"Oh, well I'm sorry to hear that."

"Don't be, we just..." I began to tune their voices out as their conversation carried on. I had walked somewhat away from them, hoping to slip away. So far I had been successful as I walked more to the edge that the house laid on, a tree coming from the hill as it passed the edge. Something around here was fishy, I could just feel the air around me began to thicken and tense. The air here was suffocating making it hard for someone to breath freely, the atmosphere around here was cold and emotionless. Every fiber in my body was telling me to run and never look back, it was then I had smelled blood.

I snapped my eyes were the blood was coming from. It was coming from the side of the house, the side were the hill fell into the earth. My eyes followed up the side of the house, they stopped at a window. It was then, a strange thing happened, a girl...about my age was crawling out of the window. She was wearing dark blue jeans with a black tank top. Her black boots reached all the way to her knees, her boots gave her an extra inch in height. Her pitch black hair falling on her back beautiful as she moved and sniffed the air. Her electric blue eyes flashed vibrantly as she looked around the area, trying to be careful not to be seen. Apparently she wasn't that careful.

I watched as she ran away from the house and into the forest. For some reason...I could shake this feeling about her. That...she once belonged here and that's when I realized something as Jena's face popped back into my head with the face of the girl. They...they were almost identical, blue eyes, pitch black hair and that is when I realized...that, that girl was Jena's and Rick's daughter. But...but they said they had no children? Why...why would they lie about that?

I looked back up the window, focusing on the smell of blood once more. I hesitated before I continued to walk. What or should I say who is in there? I walked forward hoping not to be seen and not to be heard. I managed to get to the side of the house discreetly and eagerly, I check to see if someone didn't notice me. So far so good, I moved myself to the hill, in front of where the window hanged. The scent of that girl was still here as it lingered and hanged in the air. I couldn't tell what rank she was or what pack she belonged to, but I could tell that she has been here many times before. I looked at the window, the smell of blood emitted from the window rapidly tainting the air with the horrid smell. What is in there?

I took a step back, getting ready to jump. I ran, the wind passing me viciously as I took up speed and before I knew it, my feet had left the ground. I watched as the window got closer and closer, but I miscalculated my jump. My hands landed on the bottom of the window sill clinging on as I pulled myself up. My feet had landed on a hard wooden floor, the light from the window emitted the room lightly making it hard to see. But I didn't needed to see to tell what the room was, it was an attic and it was here that the smell of blood had resided. I sniffed the room, the smell of blood was unbearable and intoxicating but now there...there was something different mixed in with the blood. Something that smelled human...something that smelled wolf.

"Who...who are you?" A raspy and weak voice spoke. Hearing the voice made me flinch as I snapped my head to where it came from and that's when...my heart dropped.

There, in the dark...was a girl, but not just any girl...she was a pup. She was 14 years old, she was only 14 years old. Her vibrant green eyes looked at me with fear as her pitch black hair framed her face. She was soaked in blood as she sat on the floor, her back leaning against the wall as black chains were locked on her ankles and wrist. She was restricted to the wall and you can tell she was beaten and fed very little. My heart ached for the girl, it ached for her so much that I just wanted to hold her and tell her everything will be alright. That she is going to be safe.

"My...my name is Serena, I'm from the Eclipse pack." I told her, almost on the brink of tears. I began to walk over to her, slowly, gently, silently. She recoiled from me when I was only a foot in front of her, I put my hands out to tell her I meant no harm as I slowly crouched in front of her.

"I'm not going to hurt you." She stared at me with weary eyes. "I want to help you." I placed my hand up and the girl tensed in front of me as she turned her head to the side. Was she...was she afraid I would hit her? I slowly placed my hand on her cheek, caressing it gently and she...fell at ease. She leaned into my hand as tears rolled down her cheeks, she placed her small little hand on top of mine. She was trembling, this...this is wrong. How? How can someone do this to a poor innocent child?

"What is your name?" I asked concern. She looked at me, her eyes showing a glimpse of hope mixed with pain.

"N...Nancy," she managed to say, her voice hoarse and scratchy.

"Nancy," I smiled at her name. She gave me a weak smile in return, a smile that broke my heart completely.

"Nancy, who did this to you?" I questioned and her eyes widen in fear.

"My......my mother and father." I tensed up as rage soon consumed me. What kind of sick parents would do this to their own child?! Their own flesh and blood?! Their own baby!?

"Who...who is your mother and father?" I asked, trying to keep calm for her.

She looked down at the ground. In her eyes held shame as her body was consumed with pain and hurt. There was no hate or annoyance in her eyes...there was only pain and sadness that reside in her eyes. She then looked back up at me, her eyes pleading as they look into mine, her lips trembled as she was about to speak. She placed her hand on my shoulder, squeezing it tightly for support. She began to gag as the truth of her parents locking her up in hit her hard. Her hand on my shoulder tighten as try to calm down herself.

"Alpha...Rick and Luna...Jena," she finally spoke. I froze as my jaw became tense, those...those...those MONSTERS! No kids my ass! They do to have kids and I bet that girl I saw earlier was Nancy's older sister.

"Why? Why did the do this?" I asked.

"Because...because my mate was a member of our enemy pack." What a stupid and idiotic reason!

"I'm getting you out of here," I said in a deep dark tone. I begin to grab the cuffs of the chain that was locked around her left wrist.

"You can't break it, we've-" The sound of crushing metal stopped her in mid sentence. In my hands was the pieces of the cuff that I had just crushed and ripped apart. She stared at me with amazement and shock as I threw the pieces of cuff on the floor, away from her. I began to grab the other cuff when she asked...

"who, who are you? I mean...what rank are you?" She asked utterly astonished.

I smiled at her, "A Beta."

"A Beta!? But my sister is...and she couldn't even..."

It was then, the door to the attic had flung open. I snapped my head to the door as one of the Betas from before gave out a low threatening growl. I stood up as he stared at me, his wolf eyes burning their vibrant yellow. He growled and before I knew it, he was lunging for my throat.

"SERENA!" Nancy screamed.
