"Serena," my mom cooed in my ear.

I groaned and turned in my bed, trying to tune her out.

"Serena, come on get up. We have a big day, the Alpha' s are having their annual celebration dance. So you need to hurry up and get ready."

"Mmm, five more minutes," I said my eyes still shut.

"Oh no, missy. You slept long enough, it's already noon."

"But mom, Sunday is one of the only days I get to sleep in."

"No 'buts', it's time to get up," she said while opening the window curtain, letting the bright Sun rays hit my face. I recoiled from the sudden brightness, I slowly opened my eyes. My mom's short wavy reddish brown hair framed her face beautifully, her vibrant blue eyes stared at me sternly waiting for me to get up. I gave out a sigh.

"Alright, alright, I'm up, I'm up," I said getting out of my bed, my hair falling over my shoulders.

"Get dress and then come down and get something to eat," she said while walking to the door.

"What time are we getting ready for the party?" I asked, opening my dresser drawer looking for a shirt and a pair of pants to put on.

"At 3:00, but we don't have to be there until 5:00. So you could get ready anytime before 4:30."

"Alright, thanks."

"Your welcome," she said about to walk out the door, but then she remembered something and looked at me.

"Oh, Serena. I heard Ky has came back from Alpha training."

"Yeah, he came back about a month ago."

"I'm just wondering if you knew, has he talked to you at all?"

"No, he hasn't."

"Oh, well I just wondering. I love you sweetheart," she said with a smile.

"I love you too," I said as she walked out the door.

I took off my night shirt and my pajama bottoms and put on a bra, slipped on a pair of dark blue jeans, and a white button down shirt. I fixed my bed, folding and straightening the covers neatly. Then I sat on my bed and brushed my long reddish brown hair, getting all the knots out of it. A few minutes passed and my hair was tangle free, I put my brush away and I started to walk down stairs.

If you haven't been listening or if you haven't guessed it by now, were werewolves and all the things you think you know about us, is wrong. We don't turn half human, half wolf, when we turn we take the form of wolves...except we're the size of a bear. We don't only change on the full moon, we can change where and whenever we want, in fact the moon doesn't even infect us at all, so I don't know why humans always connect us with the moon. Silver bullets, myth, wolves bane, stereotype, now vampires, I've never seen one, but it doesn't mean they don't exist. They're hiding, just like us, we all go to school, have normalish lives, were still human, just not all human.

"has he talked to you at all?"

My mother's voice popped back into my head.

I've known Ky ever since I was 5, when my family joined his father's pack, the Eclipse Pack. Ky's father and mother is Alpha Cain and Luna Rebecca, which makes Ky the future Alpha, my future Alpha, my leader. The first time I met Ky was the day we came to the Alpha' s home, the pack greeted us with open arms, we were both 5 and for some reason we had a great interests in each other. In school, Ky was very aggressive, it was a good thing all the teachers at our school were werewolves and they knew that Ky was an Alpha. Alpha' s our a 100 times more aggressive and possessive than any other male werewolves, so people feared him, well the humans feared him, werewolves like us became friends with him. There was some other Alpha' s at our school, so they would be a lot of argument between them, over things like territory, friends, girls, things I didn't care about. But no matter how aggressive, idiotic, or reckless he got...I...I still stayed friends with him and he stayed friends with me.

"Honey, are you okay?" My dad asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked up and found a plate of food right in front of me. I looked at my mom, I was sitting at the dining room table, I looked at my dad, his black hair and brown eyes shined in the light, my mother was sitting beside him looking at me.

"Y-yeah I'm fine, just thinking," I said starring down at my plate. He gave me a nod and he began to eat and so did I, I could hear my blonde 10 year old brother stuffing his food in his mouth. I looked at him, his bright blue eyes sparkled from the delicious food our mother always makes, I smiled and gave out a little chuckle.

We soon finished lunch and I decided to go back upstairs to my room. As I walked up the stairs, I let my mind drift off to where it was before.

When Alpha' s turn 16, they have to go to a school in the mountains for the rest of their training before they can take over their father's or mother's pack (yes, not all Alphas are boys). So when Ky turned 16, he left for two years, he is now 18 and so am I and his training is complete. He came back a month ago and I haven't heard from him since, I don't know if he hates me or if he just forgot me. Well, I would be able to find out tonight, if I even see him, which I'm hoping I will.

And then for some reason, I don't know why, but my mind drifted off to mates. My friend Abby has already found her mate, it was Henry, a friend of mine. When you find your mate, you have found your other half, when you two touch for the first time, sparks flow through your body and your wolf eyes shine through your human eyes. My mom and dad are mates, my grandma and grandpa are mates, Alpha Cain and Luna Rebecca are mates, Abby and Henry are mates. I haven't found my mate and I have no idea who he is. I looked over at my digital clock that was on my desk.

3:00, it was time to get ready for the party.

I walked over to my closet, I pulled out the hanger that had the dress my mother bought for me for this occasion. The dress was a violet/reddish/brown color, it had sleeves, the dress showed of my shoulders. At the top of the dress was a golden trimming, under my 'breast' was a strip of golden fabric, just a few inches below that was another strip, they both had a circles imprinted in a straight line on them. Both of the golden strips tied into the back and made a golden bow, the bow had two long strips coming out of it. At the bottom of the dress, the fabric was cut to make it look like it had the shape of a daisy petals' tips. Under that there was white trimming, at the top of the sleeves there was a golden design that were swirls with pearls in them, under that the sleeve then poofed out a little then tighten back to my skin. Just a few inches under that, there was a row of pearls, at the end of the sleeve it was cut as the same way as the bottom of the dress, except the fabric was wrapped around my wrist and folded on top of my wrist.

I put on a golden bracelet that had a red gem on it on my right wrist. I wore small golden earrings, I decided to keep my hair down and to not wear any makeup. I brushed my hair again, making sure there were no knots or tangles, I placed my dress down on my dresser and I looked at the clock.

4:00.

"Serena are you ready," my mother yelled from downstairs.

"I'm coming," I said putting on a pair of red high heels that only covered my toes and my heel, a thin piece of red leather wrapped around my ankle. I walked out of my room and down the stairs, when I got down there I saw my mother wear a dress that was sleeveless and strap less, it went down to her knees and it was a dark shade of navy blue. She wore turquoise earrings that were in the form of a teardrop and she had a diamond necklace, she had a small hand bag and a bracelet wrapped around her left wrist. She looked absolutely amazing, my dad was wearing a tux, my brother was wearing a white button down shirt with black pants, they both had their hair gelled back out of their faces, they looked extremely sharp.

"Well let's go," my mom said walking to the door in her blue heels.

We all walked to the door and we hopped in the car, we only live 30 minutes from the Alpha house, so by the time we got there it was 4:30. We pulled our black mustang up in front of this mansion, did I mention that the Alpha' s were rich, cars were parked all in the front of the mansion. The mansion was surrounded by acres of woods and forest, a perfect setting for an Alpha' s living place. We stopped the car behind a red Sudan, I recognize the car, It belonged to the Haven family, one of the Alpha Cain' s betas. The beta' s job in the pack is to serve and protect their Alpha and the Luna, they are the second to strongest wolf in the pack. An Alpha can only have five betas, my father is one of them, the duty of beta passes down from parent to first born. Which makes me the future beta, it makes me Ky's future beta.

The four other betas of Ky's is Mr. Haven' s son, Jason. I met him when five years ago, actually we all met five years ago and for some reason we all got along. Usually betas have to take a little longer to form a bond, because their all strong, they all have different ways of thinking, their all extremely protective, so I was surprised when we all made a bond the first day we met. Jason was tall, cute, he had blonde hair and vibrant green eyes and his wolf was tan with brown eyes. Another beta is Mr. Eric's daughter, Sakura, she had was about my height, short black hair and dark brown eyes, her wolf was brown with vibrant purple eyes. The third beta is Ms. Raven' s daughter, Alice, a little shorter than me, she had medium size length blonde hair, bright blue eyes and her wolf was gray with silver eyes. The last beta is Ms. Acres' son, Daren, tall and extremely muscular, dark brown hair and light brown eyes, his wolf was Brown and white with a golden eyes.

We were the future betas, the future protectors of Ky and his......mate. I didn't like it when the matter came to who would be Ky's mate, for some reason I...I just didn't want to talk about it. When ever it was brought up in the conversation, I would leave, it made my stomach turn and it made me get defensive and I don't know why. Maybe because I didn't like the thought of having to share him with someone else, but I already share him with the other betas, so it can't be that. Maybe it's because I already had a good idea on who it was going to be, Rachel.

Rachel is a popular,back stabbing girl who is popular with all the boys at school and in the pack. She has dated almost all the boys at school and most of them in the pack, she hops around from boy to boy and when she is finished with a boy she finds her next target. Flicks her hair, bashes her eye lashes, smiles, and boom,he's under her control. Me and Rachel are complete opposites and I don't like her...at all. She is a spoiled brat, petite, female who wants to be on top all of the time and she has had her eyes set on Ky for a while. When he left she went to other boys, but now he's back...I bet she's all over him now.

We walked up the walk way to the door, I could see pups playing in the back yard, where the woods were. My dad knocked on the door and we were greeted by Alpha Cain and Luna Rebecca. Cain had tanish/brown hair like Ky and his eyes were brown, his wolf was tan with red eyes, only Alpha wolves can have red eyes. Rebecca had golden eyes like her son Ky, she had medium length jet black hair. Her wolf was a beautiful reddish/brown color with beautiful sunset color eyes. Cain was wearing a tux like my father, Rebecca was wearing a long black dress that showed all her figures, it was strap less.

"Ah, Damien, I am so glad you can come," Cain said to my dad as he led us inside.

"We wouldn't miss it for the world," my dad said.

"It's so good to see you and Serena, you look so beautiful," Luna Rebecca said taking my hands in her' s and looking at me.

"T-thank you, Luna."

"Please, call me Rebecca," she said while smiling at me. I smiled.

"And look at young Robert," Cain said patting my brothers head.

"He's a dashing young man," my mom said looking down at Robert.

"Indeed, he would make all the girls howl when he's Serena' s age," Cain said agreeing with my mother and we all laughed.

Ky's parents and mine started talking and talking and I just sat there listening. I felt Rebecca's eyes on me and then she learned her head over to me and Robert and said...

"Robert why don't you go play outside with the other pups," Rebecca said looking down at Robert, he smiled and nodded. He then ran off to the back doors and ran outside to play with the other boys his age. Then Rebecca looked at me and smiled.

"Serena, why don't you go upstairs and go find the rest of your friends. Everyone is upstairs in the dance hall."

"Thank you Rebecca for inviting us and for letting us come to your home."

She gave out a little chuckle, "why are you so formal child? You've been here many times before when you were young, why wouldn't I invite you?"

"It's just...I haven't been here so long, so I thought..."

So I thought I wasn't welcomed here anymore. I haven't came back to this house for two years, ever since Ky left. I guess Rebecca saw the pain in my eyes and I felt her hand on my bare shoulder. I looked up at her and smiled.

"You are always welcomed in this house hold."

I smiled, "Thank you."

"Now go, your friends are waiting", she said using mind link to tell me.

I nodded and I began to walk up the stairs to the dance hall. Mind link is a way werewolves and communicate telepathically. We use it when we are far away from each other or if the want to tell us something in private, so that way no one can hear. Wolves can only mind link with members from their pack and only with one wolf at a time. I was soon in front of the dance hall doors, the were big and wide, I didn't want to make a big entrance, so I just opened one door and sneaked in.

When I turned around, I was amazed. The dance hall floors were polished marble, the walls were white, streamers hanged from the ceiling, a stage stood was on the back wall in front of me, and chairs and tables were placed at each side of the dance floor. After the tables and chairs on the right side of the dance floor, it had big glass doors that led out to a balcony, the doors were covered with vail like curtains.

The room was filled with people, some were dancing, some were eating, and some were just hanging out. I was about to walk over to the tables when a familiar color flashed in my eyes from the dance floor. I looked at the dance floor and I saw Abby and Henry dancing, her long blonde hair was put back in a bun, she wore a green dress, the front of the dress stopped at her knees, the back went all the way down to her ankles. A blue ribbon was wrapped around her body in a criss-cross design, they tied behind her waist in a magnificent bow. Her dress had two thin green straps to hold the dress up, she wore a diamond necklace and green earrings. Henry wore a blue button down shirt, it was tucked into his black pants, his blonde hair was combed, Abby spotted me and waved, Henry turned around and gave me a smile. I waved back, they look so cute together, she waved at me again and then Henry twirled her and continued dancing.

Then my eyes spotted another couple dancing behind them. It was Ky and Rachel, his tanish/brown bangs almost covered his beautiful golden eyes as he looked down at Rachel. He wore a button down shirt, his collar and down the middle of his shirt was white, it took up most of his torso. The rest of his torso and his sleeves, were a tan color, the end of his sleeves were button together and the top buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, so you could see his collar bone and his chest. He wore black pants and black shoes. Rachel was wearing a strap less black dress that barely covered her butt, she wore black heels, her curly brown hair brushed her shoulders and her blue eyes looked into Ky's with such seduction. I cringed at the sight of them together, how perfect they looked together, how beautiful they looked, I hated it. I was getting mad and enraged, I turned around to the door, not wanting to be in the same room as them. I was about to leave when I heard...

"Serena," Jason yelled and I turned around and smiled. He picked me up and twirled me once before putting me down and hugging me.

Ever since Ky left for training, me and Jason hanged out everyday since and our bond became stronger and we became best friends. I did hanged out with all the other betas, but me and Jason had the strongest bond and he's my favorite.

"Come on Serena, were over here," he said while grabbing my hand and leading me to a table.

Sitting at the table was, Sakura, Daren, and Alice, when they saw me they all got up and gave me a group hug. I was completely suffocated, Sakura and Alice compliant me on how beautiful and amazing I looked, I told them they looked amazing as well. Then we all sat down, I sat by Jason, Sakura sat between Jason and Alice, Alice sat next to Daren and Daren sat in front of me, leaving a empty chair open on the right side of me. We talked and then my eyes looked back at the dance floor, Rachel had her arms wrapped around Ky's neck, my hands became fist under the table.

"So...I think who the next Luna is," I said trying to be cool. Everyone looked at the dance floor to see Rachel dancing with Ky like she already owned him and maybe...she did.

"Oh no, not that bitch," Sakura said, I smiled.

"Sakura," Alice said about to scold Sakura.

"What, she is!"

"I would have to agree with Sakura on this," Jason said.

"Yeah, that chick is bad news," Daren said shaking his head.

"You guys can't actually think that Rachel is Ky's mate?" Alice protest. Everyone nodded, except me.

"Serena?" She asked.

"I don't know," I said.

"Well, I think your all wrong. There is no way she can be his mate," she said sitting back in her chair and crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well, he seems pretty enchanted with her," Sakura said.

"I still don't think it's her," Alice said while closing her eyes in disagreement.

"Who do you think it is then?" Jason asked.

Her eyes popped open and the she looked at me and gave me a wink, does she thinks it's me? She then looked back at Jason and gave him a cocky smile.

"I would never tell."

"That's not far, how do we know your right?"

"When he announces it, we'll find out."

"But who knows wh-"

"Hello, beautiful," someone said behind me, interrupting Daren. I recognized who the voice belonged to, it was Ky. He sat down in the empty chair beside me and he gave me a smile, I just looked at him.

"Haven't seen you in a while," he said looking at me seductively.

"Well, that's not my fault," I said crossing my arms across my chest.

"Okay, I'm sorry but I had training to do."

"You didn't have training two months ago," I said placing my hands on the table in front of me.

"Ohh, you just got burned," Daren said with a smirk.

"Shut up, Daren," Ky said jokingly, we all laughed at the comment though. When the laughing stopped everyone started their own conversation, Ky looked at me with sincere eyes.

"Okay look, I'm sorry. I was busy, I was going to call you, but one thing led to another and here I am talking to you. But I really did miss you."

"Ky-" I began.

"I really am sorry, can you...forgive me?" He looked at me with puppy eyes, I smiled giving into his offer.

"Of course I can forgive you," I said giving him a smile.

"Good, now may I have the next dance?" He asked me and he reached out to touch my hand. The moment his fingers brushed against my hand, sparks shoot up my arm into my body. I looked at him and I saw his eyes were bright red, his wolf eyes and by the smile on his face I could tell my eyes had turn blue, my mouth dropped open. I quickly moved my hand from his, My eyes were wide with shock.

"Excuse me," I said getting up from the table and walked away. I practically ran to the doors that led out to the balcony. I pried the doors open, walking through the vail like curtains, I shut the door behind me, the balcony was covered with vines and plants with mostly blue flowers, the moon was full. I walked to the edge of the balcony and I gripped the balcony wall trying to calm down my rapid beating heart.

"I'm......I'm......I'm Ky's mate, I'm his mate!" I muttered.

Trying to get a hold of the fact that, I was Ky's mate and I was the future Luna.
