Chapter 5: New Thoughts

Raven's POV
I feel very content with Beast Boy. He makes me feel safe and secure. Like I can just tell him anything. Like I can trust him with anything.

I walk down the hallway to my room and open the door. Slade grabs me by the arms and tanks me in like he did the first time. Knife in his hand and a bottle in the other. Without speaking he sets the bottle on the ground and pulls me into a headlock. Then with the knife he slits my head in the same fashion he did before. This was when Beast Boy came in the last time, but this time he didn't.

"Where is Beast Boy? This is when he came in!" I ask hastily.

"He's not coming. He doesn't care about you anymore." Slade answers.

"No! You're wrong! He's coming right now!" I contradict.

"No he's not. The others don't care about you either. It's a wonder they stayed this long. You're a demon that almost caused the destruction of the world. And you made them clean up your mess. It was your fault. You could have left. You could have left the planet. You could have done anything other than that. They end up living to clean up your messes Raven. And they're sick of it now." He taunts.

"You don't know that!"

"Yes I do. Because I'm one of them." He finishes the slice and steps in front of me, revealing the person under his mask to be Beast Boy.

"See?"

"No...it can't be...." then Robin comes out from under the bed and cuts my arm.

"We don't care anymore." Cyborg from under the dresser and cuts my calves.

"We are quite sick of cleaning up after you make a mess," Starfire from my mirror and cuts my other a,
"and we do not want you anymore." then cuts me straight across my stomach, cutting my leotard. I don't even know what they're cutting me with.

"Goodbye Raven." They all  pour the stuff on me and leave.

Then I wake up. That didn't happen. It I wasn't real. Was it?

I can't trust them anymore.

~~~
"Don't follow me." I say. Then I fly off and leave everyone behind. All of the traitors that say they were my friends. I care about them just as much as they care about me now. I'm leaving and I'm never coming back.
I fly to the sewers.
"Slade!" I call.
I fly to the park.
"Slade!"
The Square.
"Slade!"
The warehouse.
"Slade!"
The sun is about to come up and I still haven't found him.
"Good morning Raven." He comes out of the shadows.
"Slade..."
"Miss me?"
"Can I stay? They don't care about me anymore." I say. "No one does."
"Not true Raven. I do." He picks my head up and I smile. Then he leads me into the warehouse.
Now I have somebody who makes me feel whole. Like I'm worth something. Beast Boy did that before, but he isn't a friend now, he's an enemy.
"First things first. Let's get rid of those clothes." My communicator beeps. I look at Slade. He nods. I answer it.
"Raven! Why did you leave? Where are you?!" Robin asks.
"I'm with Slade. " I say.
"What? Raven just come back. He's tricking you." Cyborg says.
"He's not and I'm not. I already told the little green dipsh*t over there. If you don't care, then I will repay you. Don't call me again." I hang up and crush the yellow device under my foot.
Then the gems on by belt, on my hands, and on my cloak beep.
Slade yanks the cloak, the belt and my gloves off of me and throw them in an incinerator behind us.
"Put these on instead." He gave me a leotard like my other one, but it's half black and half orange and the shoulders are cut out. Black knee-high boots and a black cloak to match with black gloves. The gloves cover my palms but stop at the fingers. The gem that snaps it all together isn't a gem anymore. It's Slade's insignia, that also replaces my belt and the gem that used to be on my gloves.
I like it. But blue is still my favorite color.
"Better." He says. "Now let me teach you something new." He walks away into the darkness and comes back with two books. "Read these." He orders.
The covers say Dartre Vorem and Litre Vorem which mean Dark Magic and Light Magic in Azerathian.
"Why light magic?"
"Because both are powerful and both can be used to our advantage. Read over them. Then show me what you've learned.
Malchior already showed me how to do some of these dark magic spells, but this light magic is mostly new.
I've only used it twice and it's very powerful. But I've got one concern about the Dark Magic and that being the more I use it the more demonic I become.
I'm not sure I should use it too often.
I close the books and practice a little with some vases. Then I get up and meditate.
"Have you learned anything Raven?" Slade asks as he walks in.
"Yes. I just need to meditate." I answer.
"Show me what you've learned." He demands.
"When I'm finished." I reply.
"Now Raven." His voice is more assertive this time.
"My meditation is part of the deal Slade. If you don't want me to unintentionally kill you I suggest you let me do what I need to do. " I shot back without opening my eyes.
He doesn't say a word and keeps standing there. I begin my mantra.
I keep seeing the Titans. Every time we fought together, and all of our individual fights amongst one another.
Times when I felt scared, when I felt alone, when I felt happy. This makes me more upset.
Knowing that with all that, they don't care anymore, but...I miss them a little. Beast Boy....he made me the happiest. Even when I didn't show it. Now it stings to remember him.
I set my feet down on the concrete.
"Show me." Slade says. Then a couple of dummies shaped like the Titans and the Titans East appear.
I start with Bumble Bee and Speedy. I pick Speedy up and cut Bee in half with him as I push them to the side.
With Mas and Menos I pummel them with each other. Now they look like pancakes.
I squeeze Aqualad's throat shut and the dummy falls to the floor.
I rip Cyborg's arms off limb by limb until he's just a head.
I crumple Star into a ball the size of a baseball.
Robin and Beast Boy, I merge them together into some freakish entity and rip them to shreds.
I did this all without moving from the spot I started in. I looked back at Slade and he nodded.
"You want revenge?" He asked.
"Revenge is sweet." I answered.
"Then go get it."
***
Honestly, I needed that. Watching the real Titans feel as much pain as I did makes me feel better. I needed it mentally.
But something inside of me was telling me that this isn't right. That I can easily destroy Slade and go back.
That this is all in my head and the Titans still care about me were probably getting ready to look for me.
That Beast Boy was devastated. But the other half of me doesn't care. I feel like I'm turning to a side that I don't want to be on. From both perspectives.
Beast Boy's POV
"Call Raven! Call her!" I yell. Surprisingly Robin doesn't say anything. He actually calls her and she picks up.
"Raven! Why did you leave? Where are you?!" Robin asks.
"I'm with Slade" She answers. I can feel my heart breaking right now. But this must be what Raven feels like when she left feeling like we don't care.
"What? Raven just come back. He's tricking you." Cyborg pleads.
"He's not and I'm not. I already told the little green dipsh*t over there," She really doesn't care. I droop my ears down and shuffle out of her view. I don't think she noticed though. "If you don't care, then I will repay you. Don't call me again." Then the screen went black.
"I can't track her by her communicator. She destroyed it." Robin informs us.
"Doesn't she have a tracker in her gems that she wears?" Cyborg asked.
"They just went offline." I answer looking at the panel.
"Friends we must find her!" Starfire says.
"She told us she'll repay us. I have a feeling we'll see her soon..." Cyborg says. Robin holds his head and grunts.
"Robin are you ok?" Star asks worriedly.
"I think she just broke off our bond." He says. "We've lost all contact with Raven."
Can she even do that?
"Why do we not check her room?" Star suggests.
"We can't. One that would be an invasion of privacy, and two, I already tried. She magically locked it when she left. She's probably taken everything useful to us by now. " I inform them.
Nobody says a word. We all sulk to our rooms.
On my way to my room by myself I find a book of Raven's on the floor. I open it and it's her diary. It looks like it was written with magic because the last entry was about a minute and a half ago. I have the urge to read it. But I don't want to. The. Something on the cover spells out "Read me".
I guess she wants me to read it then.
March 24 12 AM
We are doing this in secret from Raven. Happy and I are trying to contact Beast Boy and the other Titans. If any of you are reading this, then Raven, part of Raven wants to come back.
But the other emotions don't. They think that you hate Raven and don't care about her whatsoever. If you can show her what she's missing from you guys she might fully change her mind.
We've been trying to show her past memories but it isn't working. She's even got a new outfit. Slade has a grip and he's not letting go easily. Please try. No matter how much Raven tells you no, do what you do best and don't listen to her.
From,
Happy, Timid, and Passion
So half of Raven still trusts us, but the other half doesn't.
That would be Rage, Knowledge, Sloth, and Lazy oddly enough.
But what can I show Raven to help her realize that we still care? I guess I'll have to sleep on it, though I doubt I'll be able to sleep tonight.
I dream of Raven still being at the Tower and we're alone sitting on the couch. We're holding hands and she's smiling at me.
We're happy and content with ourselves. I make the move, but then I wake up. My brain made me go back to the world that Raven isn't a part of.
I slowly get up from my bed and leave my room. I don't care what time it is. I'm not going to be able to get back to sleep anyways.
I get to the Ops room and I see Raven's teacup out of the corner of my eye. I ignore it and keep walking.
I turn into a dog and squeeze myself into the corner of the couch. Then the crime alarm goes off. I jump, turn back, and let out a small scream.
I know I said I don't know what time it is, but I know it's too early in the morning to go on a crime spree. And without Raven, I think we're gonna have a little more trouble fighting whoever this is.
We all groggily arrived at an old chapel.
"This place feels familiar." Robin said. He thought for a second. "Wait, this is where Raven and I went to hide after Slade almost crushed me with a boulder.
"Why would the report bring us here? There is nothing to steal. Nothing to conquer. It is but an old cathedral." Starfire stated.
"Did it say who we're after?" Cyborg asked.
"It simply said somebody was destroying the most private of property down the street and made their way over to this dark place." Star described.
"Part of me doesn't want to know who it is." I say.
"Well too bad." A familiar girl's voice says from the shadows.
"Raven?" Star called into the darkness.
"Hi guys. Miss me?" Nobody answered.
"Oh what's wrong, cat got your tongues?" She sounds a lot like Slade.
We're standing back to back walking in circle getting ready for any blow she might throw at us.
"You know, I can just kill you right now for Slade," she paused a painstakingly long pause.
"But, I'm not going to. I'm going to make you all feel like I did when you stopped caring. All of the pain, all the hurt, and all the disbelief. After today, I will pick you off one, by, one, in your weakest state. I know your weaknesses and your strengths. And I know none of you have the guts to legitimately hurt me." I want to run up and hug her but that wouldn't be right. Not now.
She looks totally different. She's wearing Slade's colors now...
"Raven, your blue cloak..." Star said.
"Oh these? Got a new look. Slade gave them to me. How do I look?" We are at a loss of words now.
She really likes this.
Cyborg reluctantly goes after her and she quickly disassembles him.
Now he's trying to fix himself. Star goes after her next. Raven grabs Star's hands and somehow stops her from creating her starbolts.
"Wha-? How did you do that?!" She asked just as confused as the rest of us are.
"Another trick I learned." Then she angrily pushed Star away with her powers and she crashed into Cyborg, who had just gotten his arm back on.
Robin and I hang back. Raven is turned away from us so we dart in opposite directions and we each hide behind a spectate bunch of crates.
"Where did you two go? I know you're still here. I can sense you." Raven's powerful. I can't hide from her for long.
I turn into a fly and hide in a small crack in between the crates. She floats in front of me with her back turned. I back into the crevice. She flies away to look for Robin.
I turn around and I can see Robin. He is just dodging Raven's attacks.
"Screw this." Raven disarms Robin and throws him to the ground.
Now they're all in a pile against the wall. Star is helping Cy get his left leg on.
"Beast Boy? Where are you?" She calls out. There's a hint of worry in her voice. Like she needs me rather than wants to beat me up.
I think she realized this because she instantly stopped. She got a slightly worried look on her face, restored everybody's stuff, and left.
"She's gone Beast Boy. You can come out now." Robin says. I scoot out of the crevice and morph back.
"What was that? She was about to look for you but then just up and flew away." Cyborg asked confused.
"Yes that is quite strange, even for Raven." Star said.
"I've got a pretty good idea why." I said. "Let's go home. I'll show you what I mean."
