Chapter 3 - Hades

I quickly ran into my dorm room and dumped the books onto my bed. I scrambled through the books and looked at the wall - changing each of the theories over with a new one.

I flicked through the books comparing them with the journal and at each dead end - I put a big X through the theory.

It was pitch black out when I went to retreat for bed. I got changed into some of my favourite pjs which consisted of doggy shorts and a doggy top. Very immature - maybe - but they are soooooo comfortable.

I relaxed into bed and flipped over a couple of times. I looked at my bedside table which was lit up by the bedside lamp I had left on - and to my surprise I saw the old, worn book which the boy had given me.

Curiously, I picked up the book and placed my reading glasses on as I started to read the text.

I flicked through the first few pages and came to the realisation that this was in fact a mythical creatures book. After a few more pages I was gonna retire for the night - however one sentence made me jump out of bed and run over to my already packed desk and grab the journal. This exact sentence looked familiar to the sentence that was placed in the journal - which was in the un decypherable code.

I flicked through the pages of the journal and stopped at the marked page. I looked between the two books and saw that they were the exact same and thankfully the book the boy gave me held the translation inside:

'The home of the God's.'

It read. I looked at the book curiously and flicked through some more pages - and to my surprise I saw more words appear in this bizarre language which thankfully all had translations with it.

I looked at the pages and it was about Greek Gods. I don't know why my mother was saying something in some weird, ancient language but something was definitely going on.

And also, why the hell did the boy know this would be the book I'm looking for? Also how the hell have I not seen this book in the library before?!

I took the Greek god book to bed and carried on studying the contents.

-----------------------------------------

I watched from the dark corners of her room as she kept reading the book which I had given her previously that day. She was completely engrossed into the book - just like father said she would.

He gave me the book in the first place and told me to hand it to her. No other orders.

Yet here I am encouraging her to read it by putting it her line of sight so she can see it. Putting it on her bed side table when she isn't looking so that she can see it. And I'm also standing in the corner of her room in the middle of the night - watching her read.

I don't know why. Maybe it's her somber presence. Her calmness. Her oblivious nature. Or maybe it's the way that her reading glasses hang low and how she can be so concentrated on the little book.

I shook my head and vanished back home. Which to me is hell.

I live with my father, Hades down here. He may seem cruel or mean but to me - his son - he is kind, wise and is a disciplined man and expects the same from me. I do as I'm told by my father and listen to his every word.

In the god world my father loves to cause mischief and I have a feeling this girl is apart of his plan somehow to cause more mischief. It's not like he's caused enough damage to the gods and gods a like enough. He's done plenty of damage for lifetimes to come.

I feel the reason my father is so mischievous in the god world is because his job is ; well - it's dead. He has to compensate for the draining job somehow. And I think thats how he has his fun.

I walked into the fiery red mansion to be greeted with my father - he doesn't have red horns nor does he have a red pointy tail, he posses godly like features and looks similar to myself, sharp jawline, jet black hair which he had pulled back into a man bun, slight stubble and the same obsidian eyes as my very own. That feature runs in the family. The main difference between my father and I is our attire - he wears aged, elegant, Royal clothing whereas I wear simple, modern, casual clothing.

"Hello dear son, how did college go today?" he asked curiously.

I smiled at my father and walked into the home, "i did the deed father and the lessons haven't really changed that much over the centuries."

Me and my father joined in a corus of a laugh and marched further into the home.

-----------------------------------------

I looked at my child eagerly through the crystal ball with my mother in front of me. We both looked into the crystal ball - both wanting to see the same girl we've watched grow up over time.

I saw her in her dorm room laying in bed, a book close to her whilst she read with those adorable reading glasses on. Her brown hair flopping down her shoulders as she engulfed herself within the book.

My mother quickly stopped the crystal ball and I followed suit by staring at her curiously.

"What is it mother?" I asked.

She gave me a look of fear and point at the ball, "look for yourself!"

I looked closer and gasped when I saw what my daughter was reading, she was reading an ancient book which I read the first day I got into the god world. But that wasn't the worst part - the worst part was the boy standing in the shadows. I instantly recognised the boy to be Hades son!

I looked at my mother with the same shock, "What? How?" I asked.

It was only me and my mother that knew of my child's birth. No other person knew.... So how did Hades?

"Hes up to something again dear. Maybe he doesn't actually know?" she suggested.

Those words did not calm me what so ever.

"Mortals that end up in Hades schemes always end up DEAD mother!" I stated.

My mother looked back at the ball, "i dont know dear. I honestly have no idea how he knows."

I sighed, "well I guess it's time to meet the lovely Hades again."

My mother stared at me curiously, "wasnt the last time you talked to Hades on your wedding day?"

I closed my eyes and shook my head. Trying to rid myself of the memories.

"Yes mother. And now I'm gonna have to see him again!"

Hade's turned up drunk to mine and Poseidons wedding - which was centuries ago with a mortal date by his side. The man could never have a wife for he was so uncertain and uncontainable. Anyway, on my wedding day he stumbled down the alter halfway through our vowels with the girl at hand and was in a fit of giggles. The poor mortal girl tried holding his weight up but her attempts were futile until he stood on his own glaring at me.

"This my dear sister in law-" he pointed to the girl next to him, "is my gift to you" he said which made the girl standing next to him stunned.

He then moved towards her and roughly pushed his hand towards her and the force of his hand went straight into her chest. He dug around a bit making the white aisle turn red with the blood - and then pulled out the slowly pumping heart, which made the girl drop to the floor- dead.

Hades held a large grin on his face, "this is what will become of you dear sister if you ever break my brothers heart!"

He then stumbled off back down the aisle talking about needing another drink.

And this meeting I will have with him will be the first meeting since mine and Poseidons divorce.
