"No, Thal, come on. I'm sorry, I was just so- you were right, I was thinking with my dick, you're so hot that-"

"Sorry Jungkook, but no means no and in this case, no also means no more,"

"Thal, please, just give me another chance. I never beg like this, but for you I will,"

"You've had enough chances. You'll get another girlfriend easily, so you won't be lonely,"

"I don't want another girlfriend, I want you!"

"Bye, Jungkook,"

Thal sighed as she finally hung up on her now ex-boyfriend. She hadn't expected him to beg for another chance - from what she had heard, Jungkook had never been upset from past break ups. Then again, he was always the one doing the breaking up.

Pushing his image from her mind, Thal reluctantly dried up and put on a pair of pajama shorts and t-shirt. Her Mother was enjoying an incredibly rare night off so she had promised to watch a movie with her.

Her Mother was already sat on the sofa waiting when Thal came out of her room and in the pale light of the moon, she was reminded how beautiful she was. Long cascading lengths of dark blonde hair thag reached just above the small of her back, pale skin with silver eyes that shined like the ocean at night. Her rounded cheeks showed dimples when she smiled and her lips were full and pink. She always wore a plain set of pearl earrings and she had a small tattoo of some kind of swirly pattern within a circle on the swell of her left breast.

On top of that, she didn't look a day over twenty one, which made people assume they were sisters when they went out together.

It was like she wasn't from this world. She was the complete opposite to Thal. Her Mother was always calm and composed, like a princess from old story books. She was rather timid but could stand up for herself or her daughter if the situation demanded it.

Thal, however, had thick dark brown hair that hung in unruly waves over her shoulders. Her skin was slightly darker and she had eyes that were, in her mothers words, the colour of melted chocolate. Mud. Thal had eyes the colour of a muddy puddle in the forest, despite what her Mother said. She had only one dimple, but had good curves like her Mother. She was also outgoing and confident, but tried to dollow her Mother's example of staying calm in trying situations. It didn't often work, as she was very hot-tempered.

Apparently, she took after her Father.

"I have popcorn and good news," Her Mother smiled as Thal plonked herself next to her, "What do you want first?"

"Popcorn," Thal said, taking the offered bowl, "Just so you know, I broke up with Jungkook,"

"Oh no," The reply was genuinely sympathetic, "What happened?"

"He was thinking too much with his little head and not his brain,"

Thal's Mother sighed and nodded, "You will find that a lot of men are like that, especially at your age. Don't worry, you'll find someone else when the time is right. You don't ever need a man, but sometimes it's nice to have one around to open jars and lift heavy things,"

Thal snorted out a laugh and her Mother's eyes twinkled in the moonlight. She threw a piece of popcorn at her, "What's the news?"

"Mr Kim promoted me. I'm a manager now, so I can leave one of my jobs. I won't be working nights anymore and I'll have an extra day off,"

"That's great, Mum," Thal threw her arms around her, "Let's watch The Little Mermaid as a celebration- although I still don't get why she wants to leave the ocean,"

Her mothers smile wavered a little, "Yeah... Me neither,"

The Kings palace was shrouded in shadows but Taehyung was confident as he moved swiftly through the hallways towards the throne room.

Moonlight barely penetrated this deep but thin rays light up some parts of the room. The area in front of the throne was illuminated by a combination of brightly glowing rocks and bioluminescent algae that was specially cultured by their people. As such, the only truly dark part of the room was the back, where the great King sat on his stone throne, his powerful dull grey tail coiled like a snake underneath him.

"My King," Taehyung greeted him, bowing at the waist. He then waited to be spoken too, not wanting to upset the volatile male in front of him.

It was quite a few minutes until the Lord of the Ocean spoke, and his voice was deep with anger - as it always was.

"Where is she?" His voice was almost a growl, "Why haven't you brought her to me?"

"Your highness," Taehyung said, finally lifting his head, "We still haven't found her-"

"The was seen by my shores but two years ago," The King interrupted him angrily, "You know what she looks like, go and bring her to me,"

"Yes, Your Highness," Taehyung bowed again, "I will bring her to you,"

A wave of the Kings hand dismissed Taehyung and he turned and exited the room, his black tail propelling him smoothly through the water. The trip to that particular beach would take about a day, which at least meant the King had given him extra time.

Now he just had to find her and drag her to the King.

Back to her home.
