Chapter 5- Pony Ride

As we made our way out, Blue noticed Blake's Audi.

"Woo, nice ride." She commented, eyeing the vehicle in front of us.

"That's actually my car." Blake laughed, and her mouth just formed an 'O'.

"'Sup everyone. Thanks for acknowledging me." Aiden butted in, and Blue turned around to take a look at him. She obviously hadn't noticed him.

Her eyebrows raised as she stared at the dark haired boy, and then began wiggling them at me.

"June, are you actually insane? This dude is hot as-"

"A tea bag?" Blake interrupted, and Blue blushed, not realizing he could hear her.

I laughed and Aiden just stood there looking confused.

"Alright everyone hop in, I can't take this whole fourth-wheeling thing anymore." He said, and Blue giggled.

I rolled my eyes playfully. It seems I have mastered that expression lately.

"Okay, I'm going in the back." I said and they all looked at me like I had just cursed them all.

"Oh ok. First you want to kill me for leaving you alone with Blake and now it's because I won't leave you alone with him? Who understands you." I whispered and she gave me a cheeky smile.

"Pleeease." She begged.

"I don't wanna sit by Aiden!"

"But-"

"Blake and Aiden, you guys in the front. Blue and I are going in the back!" I said loudly and they both nodded.

"You guys are weird." Blake said and Blue and I just shrugged.

We all got into Aiden's car and I couldn't help but notice everything about Aiden matched.

His clothes seemed to suit him, his personality definitely did and his car just happened to be a black Porsche. I suddenly felt jealous at the fact the two guys in here had cool cars and then there was me.

Like, am I the only not rich person here?

I mean Blue didn't have a car, but that was because she was pretty down to earth. She didn't even really need one. We took a taxi, the subway, or simply walked places. However, in reality, her dad was the owner of some company and she was pretty wealthy. I was honestly really glad she wasn't a snob.

Then there was Blake. I'm not one to judge but I mean, you could just tell he was raised in a rich home. I mean the dude had an S7 and dressed like a casual model.

And finally Aiden. I didn't really know much but I sure knew his car was pretty. And that's good enough for me to think I was practically poor around these people. I was lucky enough to get my Ford back home. It was an 18th birthday present and I later found out it was a car my dad's best friend was selling. It was insanely cheap since he had to leave in just a few days to some other country and was desperately searching for someone to buy it. Not that I wasn't grateful but you get the point. I was the Duff of the car.

"So is anyone in here scared of heights?" Aiden asked, and Blue raised her hand.

Or at least tried to do so in the small space she had attempted to raise it in.

"Oooh, we got a scaredy cat in the car." Blake teased, and Blue pouted.

"I'm not a scaredy cat. I'll get on any ride." She said bravely, and I shot her a surprised look.

She never does that.

Looks like Blake has an effect on someone.

"How 'bout you, cupcake? Dare to get on every scary thing out there?" Aiden smirked, making eye contact with me quickly through the rearview mirror, before looking back at the road.

"Duh. I'm here for the rides. You didn't think I came for you, did you?" I smirked back, and he clutched his heart in fake pain, keeping his other hand on the steering wheel.

"Oh no, you just hurt my feelings. This pain, this sting...is it what they call...rejection?" He replied dramatically, and I started laughing.

"Idiot." I said, and he just smiled.

--

"Why had I never heard of this place?" I asked, excitement in my voice.

"Because you're a loser." Aiden said and I smacked his arm.

"Ow that almost killed me. Do you think I should get a doctor?" Aiden told Blake, his tone thick with sarcasm, and the blue eyed boy began to laugh.

"I don't know dude, I got the feeling it might be broken." Blake played along, gently touching it, and Aiden faked a girly scream.

Blue started laughing at the scene in front of us.

"Okay, enough you babies. Let's go do what we came for." She said, shaking her head playfully, and I nodded.

"Yes, you guys can stay here crying. We'll be on the pirate ship ride." I said, and Blue and I started running off towards the ride.

Aiden and Blake quickly caught up and we all got in line.

As my eyes scanned the place around me, I noticed most of the people here were teenagers.

I honestly didn't understand why kids didn't like this ride. It was the best. I used to get on it thousands of times as a child.

We finally reached the beginning of the line and stepped inside the ship. When it was over, Blue was suddenly extremely pumped.

"Yaaaaassss, now let's get on something faster and more thrilling." She grinned, her eyes glowing with excitement, and we all laughed at her reaction.

"Extreme ferris wheel?" I asked, and her eyes widened. Her face suddenly turned from excited to terrified in a matter of .5 seconds.

"W-what? That exists?" She asked, and the rest of us began to laugh again.

"Nah, I'm kidding. But you just got way too excited for a second." I said, and she frowned.

"You guys suck." She mumbled, and I hugged her, still laughing.

"Don't worry, we're just going to the regular ferris wheel." I said, and she rolled her eyes.

"Duh."

When we got to the ferris wheel, there was only one more seat left, which meant only two of us could get on.

Obviously, I made Blue and Blake get on. There was no way I was putting myself in that situation with Aiden.

Since we had nothing else to do in the meantime, we decided to go play the fair games.

There were several but I immediately made my way to the one where a giantic stuffed fluffy bunny was at.

I had to have that thing.

Aiden followed me and chuckled.

"For someone who tries to act like a big girl, running towards a huge bunny is definitely unexpected." He teased, and I stuck my tongue at him.

"Bunnies are beautiful no matter how old you are." I replied, and he laughed.

"Alright cupcake, I'm getting you that bunny." He said, trying to sound as manly as someone possibly can when they say a phrase like that one.

"Good luck. But I doubt you will. I'm the best at this game." I challenged, and he smirked.

"We'll see about that."

He called the guy working at that stand and gave him three dollars which gave him three tries.

The point of the game was to throw a ring and get it to land on the top of a bottle.

It was probably one of the hardest games there.

"Alright, here we go." He said, and threw it.

His shot was totally off.

I laughed at his horrible failed attempt and he frowned.

"Shh, it was just a test try." He tried, and I gave him a look.

"Sure it was." I said sarcastically, a teasing smile on my face.

He ignored my comment and threw it again.

That time he almost made it, just missing by like half a centimeter.

He smirked.

"Still didn't make it." I reminded him, and he rolled his eyes in response.

On his third try, he looked at the bottle intensely as if he were trying to kill it, and a part of me thought maybe he would make it.

I bit my lip, feeling the suspense build up. He narrowed his eyes in concentration, and after a few seconds, he finally threw it.

The ring landed on the top and suddenly flew off again.

"What?! Nooo! That's so unfair man. I had it!" He complained and groaned at his failure.

I started laughing and then gave the guy two dollars.

"Watch and learn. And I only get two tries." I said confidently, and he raised his eyebrows amusingly.

"Oh well, look at you all confident. Let's see what you're made of." He told me, and I smiled.

On my first shot, the ring flew out just like his had on his third try.

I frowned.

I better make it. Don't let me down now, ring. I need the victory and the bunny.

I decided to throw my second ring slightly softer and then boom, it landed perfectly.

"Ha! How does it feel you punk? June Love just beat ya lil booty! Mmm yeahhh, take that suckerrrrr!" I said, dancing excitedly and wiggling my nonexistent butt.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." He said, rolling his eyes at me, and I rested my hand on his shoulder.

"Aw, lil Aiden is gunna cry?" I said, making the voice you'd make to a baby. "Don't be such a sore loser." I said laughing, and he just rolled his eyes—this time, playfully.

"You're annoying." He stated, and I smiled widely at him to annoy him more.

"Hey, you're the one who wanted me to come." I winked, before running off with my huge bunny.

It was literally probably bigger than me.

"Hey, wait up!" He shouted laughing.

"Hurry up buttercup!" I yelled back, not bothering to stop and wait for him.

--

"Oh my gosh, that bunny is SO adorable!" Blue gushed, hugging it tight and wiggling it around at the same time.

"I know dude. I'm so glad I won it." I said, looking at Aiden, not letting him forget I'd beaten him.

"Shhh. It was just luck. I guess you've been getting a lotta that lately." He winked, and I laughed sarcastically.

"Really? I thought it was a gift from God as a reward for me managing to not punch that pretty face of yours." I said sweetly, fluttering my eyelashes at him.

"Awe, you think I'm pretty?" He replied, mimicking my expression.

"I'm so done with you." I said, and he smirked.

"I didn't know we had started anything babe! Are you breaking up with me?" He said, making his question in a girly voice.

"Shut up already." I laughed, and Blake made a gagging noise.

"Gosh, stop. Please go flirt somewhere else." He told us, pretending to be grossed out.

"Oh, who's talking?" I teased, the corners of my lips quirking up in a playful manner, and Blue nudged me in the ribs.

"Second day knowing you and you're already bullying me." Blake said jokingly, and I blew him a kiss.

"True friendship." I laughed.

"So now what?" Aiden changed the subject.

"Let's continue with the rest of the rides." I said.

After that, we decided to get on all of the best rides. I was pretty impressed at Blue, who only chickened out on one ride due to her getting nauseous. None of us bugged her about it though, we knew she was doing everything in her will to actually get on the rest of them. After we rode everything, I was tempted to ride one of the ponies they had at the mini farm rides.

"Do you think they'll let me get on one of them?" I asked, and the two boys looked at me as if I were crazy while Blue smiled excitedly.

"Oh my gosh! I hadn't even noticed them! Let's go ask." She encouraged me, and the guys just chuckled as they watched Blue and I walk over to the girl in charge of the attraction.

"Am I allowed to get on one of the ponies?" I asked her, and she nodded.

"You're small enough to get on our biggest pony over there." She said, pointing to a black and gray pony who just stood there, looking rather depressed.

"As for you, you're too tall. I'm sorry." She told Blue, who pouted sadly.

That was one of the advantages of being short. I was only 5'3 and would usually fit on both big and little kid rides. Blue, however, was rarely ever allowed on little kid rides with her 5'6 height.

I looked at Blue.

"I don't have to go on it." I said, feeling bad for being able to get on it while she couldn't.

"No, it's okay. Get on it." She said smiling at me, and I smiled back, knowing she was being sincere.

I walked over to the pony and got on it with no trouble.

Shortly after that, the ponies started moving and Blue and the guys started laughing at the view.

There were only little kids on this ride, me being the only teenager who was on it, and quite frankly, it looked like I was enjoying it the most.

I was laughing and making cowgirl noises and some of the kids laughed at me too.

"Hey, June, smile!" Aiden yelled, holding up his phone to take a picture.

Without thinking, I looked at the camera, still laughing.

In a matter of seconds, all three of them were taking pictures of me and I knew I'd probably hate 99% of them when I saw them considering they were all practically candids.

After the ride was over, I walked over to them.

"You are officially crazy." Blake said, his tone sounding amused.

"Normal is boring." I said, quoting some basic thing I saw on tumblr.

"Well kids, sorry to break it to ya but we better get back. It's already 11pm and three of us got an art course to attend tomorrow." Aiden said, sounding like our responsible older brother.

"Alright Mr. Responsible, let's get going." I said, and he just laughed lightly.

Today had honestly been pretty fun and Aiden and I actually got pretty along.

But I wasn't breaking my promise. I still hadn't forgotten that I needed to stay away from him and today was just a way of letting us start over. To me, that meant I could move on and forget about all this. I wasn't going to let him distract me. I needed to win that contest and surely after the course, we'd never speak again. Unless I saw him again at the coffee shop with one of his many females. I couldn't afford to let his good looks get to me like most other girls. After today, this would all be over and I wouldn't have to interact with him anymore. I needed to do whatever it took to win that art course—even if it meant coming across as a weird, bipolar psycho.

--

When we arrived back at my apartment, Blue was already asleep. Being the gentleman that he is, Blake offered to carry her back to the room. I obviously didn't even hesitate to say yes. Of course, Blue would kill me for letting Blake see her sleeping and claim she looks like a nasty thing while asleep, but this was an OTP moment I couldn't waste. Yeah, call me selfish, but anyone would do it. Hardcore shipping problems. Don't judge.

Blake made his way upstairs and Aiden grabbed my arm before I could leave.

"Hey." He said, and I suddenly felt nervous at the fact we were both alone under the light of the moon and twinkling stars.

Okay, lies. It was actually pretty cloudy and the moon wasn't even in sight. But you know what I mean.

"Yeah?" I asked casually.

"I'm forgiven right?" He asked, his eyes curious.

"Uh, yeah." I said lightly, and he frowned.

"I know you hated me and I ruined your stuff but-"

"No, really. It's fine. We're cool. Now we can both just go back to living our lives in peace." I laughed, and he did too, but he seemed conflicted.

"Uhm yeah, live our lives in peace." He repeated, and I realized he had no idea what I had meant by that.

I decided not to tell him because even though I'm sure he wasn't going to be heartbroken at the fact I didn't want anything to do with him anymore, it just felt like something I shouldn't tell him.

"Thanks for taking me to the fair." I said smiling, and he nodded.

"No problem. It was the least I could do. Oh, by the way, do you want to take a look at those pics?" He asked.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten.

"Sure." I said, and he smirked.

"Oh look, it's pretty late." He said, his eyebrows raising in 'surprise' as he stared at the invisible watch on his wrist. "I guess I should probably just send them to you." He said cooly, and I narrowed my eyes at him.

That sneaky little butt.

"Seriously Aiden?"

"Hit me with that number, girl." He told me, a lopsided grin on his face, and I laughed.

"I guess I just won't get to see those pictures." I winked, and started walking away.

"Oh no she didn't." He yelled, and I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Oh, she did." I yelled laughing, before shutting my door.

What a night.
