Chapter 13- An Extra Long Day

**Nothin' But The Radio by Blackbear on the top (: Cute song to listen to. Kinda gave me the feeling for this chapter**

Sitting in the car alone with Aiden was probably one of the most awkward things I had experienced in my life. Not only because of what had happened, but because I had no idea what to talk about. I tried asking where we were going, but it was of no use; he wouldn't tell me. So now, here we were, sitting in silence.

After a couple of minutes, I couldn't take it anymore so I spoke.

"Why'd you bring a beanie if we're going swimming?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.

"In case I get cold." He said and I gave him a skeptical look.

"You do realize it's like 90 degrees outside, right?"

What is wrong with this boy?

"You have a point. You want to know the real reason?"

"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't." I replied, rolling my eyes at his dumb question.

"I have no idea why I brought it. I guess I was just in the mood." He said and I just shook my head.

"You're weird."

"You do know how to swim, right?" He asked, changing the subject.

I noticed we had already left the main city, and were now in some more suburban part of New York. It had been about 45 minutes since we left and I no longer recognized the place.

"Duh." I replied sassily and he just chuckled. "Are we almost there?"

"Yeah. We'll be there in about 10 minutes." He said and now I was really curious.

There were no waterparks around; I knew that for sure. And I didn't think he would travel an hour just to go to some random pool.

So then where the heck were we going?

I decided to look out the window and take a look at where we were.

There were a lot of houses everywhere and there was a lot of trees. It didn't even feel anything like the city. It almost reminded me of my childhood, when I lived in Virginia. Everything here seemed so ordinary. It was quiet and calm. If it weren't because I knew where we had driven from, I would never guess there was a city nearby. As we drove through the neighborhood, you could see children playing and people walking their dogs. I smiled at the view.

"You like it here?" Aiden asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, it's nice. It reminds me of when I was little." I admitted and he smiled.

"Where'd you live?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the road.

"Small town in Virginia." I said and he nodded. Before he could reply, I noticed a lemonade stand set up outside.

"Look!" I said, pointing my finger at it.

"The lemonade stand?" Aiden asked and I nodded, smiling.

"Yeah! Can we get some?" I asked excitedly. I love lemonade stands. I think they're adorable. I used to set them up all the time when I was younger.

I love stopping by because I know the exciting feeling you get when you finally have a costumer stop by. Plus, never hurts to have a little lemonade, right?

Aiden laughed at my reaction but decided to stop anyway.

We stepped out of the car and walked up to the two little girls in charge of the stand. One of them had big green eyes, curly blonde hair, and freckles on her nose and cheeks. The other one had bright blue eyes, long beautiful eyelashes, and short brown hair. They were both absolutely adorable.

"Well hello there ladies, are we still open?" Aiden asked, smiling down at them.

"Of course!" The curly haired girl said.

"Alright, well then we would love two fresh lemonades, please." He told them and each one served one cup of lemonade.

"Thank you." I said, giving them a friendly smile.

Aiden pulled out two dollars and as he was about to put them inside a jar full of money, I spoke.

"Oh, it's fine. I can pay for mine." I said and I began to move my hand toward the jar to put my dollar inside it.

He quickly swapped my hand away, making me frown at him.

"Nope. I'm paying for you." He insisted and the brown haired girl spoke.

"That's very nice of you to pay for your girlfriend. My mommy says that's what gentlemen do!" She said smiling and I felt blush creep up onto my cheeks.

"Oh, he's not my boyfriend." I said, laughing. "He's just a friend."

She just smiled back and whispered to Aiden, but I could still hear her.

"She's very pretty. She should be your girlfriend!"

Aiden began to laugh and shook his head. He whispered something back in her ear and this time, I couldn't hear what he said.

She began to giggle and he just ruffled her hair, a playful grin on his face.

Finally, we both gulped down our lemonades and Aiden made an 'ahhh' sound, exaggerating how good the lemonade was.

I mean, it was good, but he was obviously trying to let the little girls see how much he liked it. I smiled at that.

"This is the best lemonade I have ever tried! What's you secret?!" He asked with wide eyes and both girls started giggling.

"It's a secret!" One of them said, still giggling and Aiden pouted.

"Well, you guys keep it up. One day you could be famous lemonade chefs. In fact, I will contribute to the cause. Ten dollars of extra tip!" He said, putting a ten dollar bill in the jar and they both looked each other with wide eyes, huge smiles plastered on their faces.

"Thank you!!" They both said at the same time.

I laughed.

"No, thank you very much for this amazing lemonade, ladies." I said, smiling at them and threw plastic cup away in the tiny trashcan by the stand. Aiden did the same and we said our goodbyes.

We walked back to the car and Aiden opened the door for me. As I got in, I found myself smiling.

Well this was certainly an unexpected behavior from Aiden. Who knew he was so good with little kids? It was honestly so adorable.

A second later, he stepped inside the car and started driving again.

"Well that was very nice." I said and he smiled.

"Yeah. They were so cute." He said and I raised an eyebrow.

"So you like little kids?" I asked and he nodded, still smiling.

"Yeah, unless they're annoying little brats." He told me. I laughed lightly, shaking my head.

"Pretty sure no one likes those." I replied in agreement.

"So, I'm your friend, huh?" He asked, his smile turning into a smirk.

I was confused for a second, and then I realized he was referring to the statement I made when I said he was my friend, not my boyfriend.

"I guess. I'm not sure what we are, really. I'm constantly torn between thinking you're my frenemy and an irrelevant twat." I said, making him chuckle.

"Or crush." He winked and I let out a dry laugh.

"Cute thought. Sorry to break it to you though, but no. I'm into someone else." I said, a small smile on my face, and he suddenly seemed surprised.

"Oh. Really? Who?" He asked, trying to seem cool and I smirked.

"Why do you care?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I don't. I mean—I don't know. You mentioned it so I asked. Just making conversation." He said awkwardly at first and then changed his tone to a more nonchalant one. A genuine laugh escaped my lips.

"Too bad. I'm not telling you." I said, smiling teasingly and he frowned.

"Fine. Don't tell me. It's whatever." He replied, sounding slightly salty.

I smirked at his reaction and he quickly shot me an annoyed look, but was still half smiling.

"Okay, I'll tell you. His name is Chris." I said and he made a face.

"Chris?"

"Yep. Chris Collins." I said proudly and he rolled his eyes.

"Cool." Was all he said and I started laughing again.

If only he knew Chris Collins is one of my Youtube crushes.

"Salty." I said and he frowned.

"I'm not salty." He spat and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Mhm, sure."

He didn't reply after that, which I found quite amusing. Guys are so easily aggravated.

After about three minutes, Aiden entered a small road that led into a deep part of the forest.

I raised an eyebrow but didn't question it. He probably knew what he was doing. Or at least I hoped he did.

We finally reached a random spot and he parked. Aiden got out and I remained in my seat, waiting for him to come and open the door for me.

He looked at me from the outside with an 'are you getting out?' look and I just sat there.

I motioned my head towards my door to let him know he had to open it for me. He rolled his eyes playfully and walked over to open it.

"Took you a while." I said and he shook his head playfully.

"My bad." He apologized and I smiled.

He went to the back of his car and started to get something. I just stood there patiently and that's when I noticed the sound of water. It sounded something like a river or a waterfall. Well that's interesting.

Finally, Aiden made his way over to me and I noticed he was holding a basket.

"What is that?" I asked, smiling a bit.

"That, my friend, is a basket." He replied, and I gave him a look.

"I mean, what's inside the basket?"

"Oh, well now that you specified, I can answer properly. Inside this basket I have placed some food and a table cloth so we don't die of starvation." He exaggerated and I nodded.

"Great. I love food." I replied simply and then we began to walk.

As we kept walking, the sound of the water became louder and then we finally reached our final destination. There were trees everywhere, making it feel like they were some kind of nature gate hiding this pretty little spot.

My eyes widened and a huge smile formed on my face as I witnessed the view before me.

"You like it?" Aiden asked me, his tone slightly hopeful.

"Yeah, it's beautiful! How did you find this?" I asked, amazed at the gorgeous place we were at.

We were currently standing in front of a small lagoon with a waterfall coming down on it. There were rocks and trees everywhere. On the very right, there was a way to get up next to the top of of the waterfall and a rope to swing off into the lagoon. It looked quite fun.

"We used to live nearby when I was about sixteen and I found this place one day as I took a walk around the block. I haven't really brought anyone else here because we moved shortly after I found it." He explained and I couldn't help but feel kind of special for being the only one he has brought.

"Aw, I'm honored." I said and he chuckled.

"The real reason I brought you here is because I needed someone to teach me how to swim." He said, with a serious look on his face and I laughed awkwardly.

"Wait, are you serious?" I asked, not really sure if he was kidding or not.

"Yeah, my reputation is already bad with you anyway so it's not like I'm worried I'm going to embarrass myself in front of you." He said and I laughed.

"You're unbelievable." I shook my head playfully and he shrugged innocently, chuckling a bit. "Alright, I guess I'll teach you. It's not like I have much of a choice, anyways." I told him.

Suddenly, he slipped off his shirt and pants, leaving him with only his bathing suit and his exposed beautiful six pack.

He smirked when he saw me looking and I quickly looked away.

Deja vu.

I decided to quickly turn around and take off my shirt and my shorts to avoid him making a comment. However, that didn't exactly work, because as soon as my clothes were off, he whistled.

"Dang June, lookin' good." He said, eyeing me up and down.

I—somehow—stopped myself from turning bright red and smirked at him instead.

I let my hair loose, and then turned around to face him.

"I know I do." I said, in the same cocky tone he usually uses. He laughed, amused at my unexpected reaction.

"Well would you look at her, Ms. Confident." He said, still smiling.

All I did was wink at him and then sat on the ground.

"Let's eat." I said, and he set out a blue and white plaid table cloth on the ground. He then proceeded to take a seat and started taking out all the food. First, he took out some turkey ham sandwiches, then two bottles of apple juice, and finally, two slices of chocolate cake.

A grin made its way onto my face as soon as I saw the cake.

"You brought chocolate cake!" I said, sounding like a child, and he chuckled.

"Indeed I did, ma'am. But no dessert until after you're done with your meal." He said, sounding like a strict mother.

"Ugh, they mix together at the end anyways." I pouted and he shook his head.

I frowned.

"Fine, fine."

I grabbed the sandwich and took a bite out of it. Yum.

"Hm...this isch akcholy prty gd." I said, my mouth still full of food.

"How ladylike of you." He said, a playful smile on his lips, and then took a bite out of his own sandwich.

"Oops." I said, after swallowing.

We continued to eat our sandwiches, barely talking. Once we were done, I immediately grabbed the slice of cake.

I smelt it first, being the weirdo that I am, and then tried it.

"Oh man...mmmmm. Oh yes, this is- woo! That's what I'm talking 'bout baby. This is good." I said, savoring the tasty pastry and licking some chocolate off my lips.

He started laughing at my reaction and I just gave him a look.

"Don't judge my love for chocolate, Aiden. This is serious business." I said and he raised his hands in surrender.

"Hey, I just laughed." He said, with a lop-sided grin.

"Yeah, okayyy. Well, now what do we do?" I asked and he took out a sketchpad and some pencils from the basket.

"I'm going to draw you. Would you prefer a front view or a side view?"

"Front view, please." I said, remembering how much I liked that portrait he had made of me. He was really good at it.

I sat there and then waited for him to finish.

As I watched him draw me, I realized he hadn't actually told me why exactly he had brought me here. He had just dragged me out of my house with no explanation. I felt like it might've had to do with the whole 'getting to know each other' thing for the art course, but we weren't even really trying to do that. We were just chilling. In fact, every time we hung out, we never actually bothered asking each other actual stuff to know each other better. It was weird.

"Hey, why did you bring me here anyway?" I suddenly asked, speaking my thoughts out loud.

"Art course requires us to spend time together." He said, his eyes still glued to the sketchpad, and I just gave him a look even though he wasn't looking at me.

"Yeah, but like, every time we hang, we don't ever actually try to get to know each other." I pointed out and he seemed to be in deep thought for a second. I couldn't really tell if he was trying to figure something out related to the statement I had made or at the drawing he was working on.

"I think it's better that way." He finally said, and I raised an eyebrow.

"How so?"

"The assignment says to make our painting based on how we feel and think of each other. If we tell each other too much, it would kind of ruin our personal image of each other. I like getting to know you by how you act and the things I see you comment on. I think that's how I get to see who you really are. If I do it by all you tell me, it would be slightly biased, don't you think?" He said, smiling, and I returned the smile.

"Hate to say this but...I like how you think, Blackwood."

"Thanks, Love." He winked.

He then continued to finish his sketch and after about thirty minutes, he was finally done.

"Alright, you ready to see?" He asked.

"Yes! Let me see." I replied happily.

He handed me the sketchbook and I smiled when I saw it.

"Aiden, this is so good!" I gushed. The picture consisted of me sitting in my bathing suit with the waterfall and the lagoon behind me. It was exactly what I looked like right now, but somehow, he made it look prettier.

As I stared at the paper in front of me, I couldn't help feeling insecure. Part of me was scared I wouldn't win the competition. He was really really good. His work was original. All I could really do were realistic looking things. That's basic stuff. How was I ever going to win with that?

"Well thanks, you." He said, seeming genuinely grateful about my compliment.

I decided to stand up and started running towards the swinging rope by the waterfall.

"You're actually jumping off?" Aiden yelled, and I gave him a thumbs up.

"Duh!" I yelled back, grinning.

Oh, this is going to be so much fun.

I noticed Aiden started walking towards the rocks and wondered if he just wanted to get a closer look.

I grabbed the rope and held on tight to it.

"Here I go!"

1...2...3!

I jumped off the rocks and was swinging in the air for a few seconds, feeling the fresh summer breeze hit my face. Finally, I let go and fell down into the water.

I felt cold for about half a second, but then the temperature adjusted to my body, making me realize it was actually pretty warm. I guess it made sense though; after all, it was summer.

Suddenly, I heard a loud splash behind me and quickly turned around. Obviously, it had been Aiden, but he was nowhere to be found.

Oh no.

HE CAN'T SWIM. IS HE STUPID?!

I moved around everywhere, trying to see if I could feel him inside the water. However, I found no sign of him. I swam inside, but the water was too dark to see anything. I swam back out, gasping for air, and felt my stomach turn into a knot.

"Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh. Aiden, you freaking idiot. Where are you?!" I started whispering to myself in panic.

I felt my heart beating fast inside my chest and then tears started rolling down my face. My breathing got agitated and I started to cry even more. Aiden's going to die and it's going to be my fault.

Suddenly, I felt someone grab my waist from inside the water, scaring the crap out of me, by the way, and then he came out of the water.

I screamed, not expecting it.

Naturally, my first instinct was to punch Aiden in the chest.

"YOU IDIOT!" I yelled, still trying to calm down from my previous panic attack. He began to laugh but then quickly noticed my state of being.

"Wait, are you crying? Oh my gosh, what the—June. Why are you crying?" He asked worriedly, and at this point, he was holding me gently.

"I—Nothing. It's just I thought y-you were drowning and I thought you were going to die b-bec-cause o-of my fault." I said in between cries, and suddenly, he pulled me close and hugged me.

"I didn't mean to scare you so bad, I'm so sorry. Gosh, I feel like such an idiot right now. I'm sorry." He apologized, and for some reason, I held him tighter.

"You are an idiot." I mumbled and I heard him chuckle.

"So you don't want me to die?" He said, looking down at me, smirking.

Of course he's smirking. Does he ever stop?

I wiped away the tears of my face, even though I was already wet.

"I rather not be accused of murder. I don't need another thing added to my criminal record." I said, letting out a small laugh.

He did too and then we were both laughing nonstop. Finally, after a few seconds, the laughter died down and it got eerily silent. I looked up at him and found him looking at me, a scrutinizing gaze on his face.

We were both still, and all you could hear was the sound of the waterfall and birds chirping.

I felt myself start to get nervous and then he started moving closer towards me—closer than we already were.

For some reason, I moved slightly closer too. His hand slowly moved up to my cheek, his thumb softly stroking it. I gulped down my anxiety.

What are we doing?

His green eyes flickered down to look at my lips, and then back up at me again as he started to lean in even closer.

Danger zone. Warning. You have gone past private property. Keep your boundaries.

All these thoughts crossed my mind as we got closer and closer, but I didn't move one single inch. I was too mesmerized by his stare to function. In all honestly, I didn't even know if I wanted to function, anyways.

Our lips slightly brushed and then suddenly, just as he was about to close the gap between us, Aiden's phone began to ring.

We both quickly backed away from each other, startled at the unexpected noise, and let out awkward laughs.

Can this get any more cliché? The phone rings as we're about to kiss. Okay.

"Yeah, uh...I gotta get that." He said, starting to swim away. He took one more look at me, and I noticed a very subtle, small smile on his face. "Sorry—um, yeah." He apologized again, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

I started to swim out as well and sat on a rock.

"Oh no. Man, I forgot about it. What time again?" Aiden spoke into the phone and then groaned.  "Alright, I'll be there. See ya. Yeah, bye."

I looked up at him.

"What happened?" I asked, wondering why he looked so stressed all of a sudden.

"I completely forgot I had dinner with my parents tonight. I was like an hour late last time, so I gotta be there on time today or they'll kill me." He explained and my mouth just formed an 'O'.

"It's already 5:30 and we have to be there at 7 o'clock. We gotta get going." He said, already putting all the stuff back in the basket.

"What do you mean by 'we' have to be there at 7?" I asked, and he smiled innocently.

"I have no time to drop you off back home. Plus, it'll be fine. It's just a family dinner." He said and my eyes widened.

"Look at me! I'm soaked. And all I brought was a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Not exactly proper dinner attire. I'm not meeting your parents looking like this." I said, freaking out.

"Cupcake, you're acting like you're my girlfriend and I'm taking you to meet my parents." He smirked and I shot him a death glare.

"Relax. We're just friends, remember? I'm sure they won't mind." He said and I laughed incredulously at his 'we're just friends, remember?' comment.

I didn't understand what we were at all.

Do I like him? Does he like me? Yes? No? Then why were we just about to kiss?

Just thinking about it gave me a headache.

"Yeah okay, sure. Whatever. Now, can I have a towel?"

We walked back to the car and as Aiden opened the trunk, he looked at me with wide eyes.

"What now?"

"Uh...I could've sworn I brought the towels." He said and I groaned.

Is he serious? I'm so done with this boy.

"How could you forget the towels?!"

"I don't know! I must've left them on my counter when I was putting all the food in the basket." He said and I face palmed.

"Ugh...Aiden. Well now my clothes will be all wet when I get there." I said, furrowing my eyebrows together, and he bit his lip.

"What if you get in the car with only your bathing suit on and let it dry on our way back." He said and I groaned again.

"Of course you would like that." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Hey, it's a win-win." He said defensively, a smirk making its way onto his face as usual, and I just walked in the car. I didn't have the patience for his nonsense.

However, he was right. If I let my bathing suit dry, I'd be able to put my clothes back on without wetting them by the time we got there. I decided to take his advice for once and threw my clothes in the backseat.

Aiden made his way inside as well and then we were on our way back.

Thankfully, it was still light outside so the sun was still able to dry me up a bit.

He decided to turn on the radio and switch to your everyday's top music radio station. Suddenly, the sound of Justin Bieber's voice filled the car.

To my surprise, Aiden started singing along.

"What do you mean? Oh, ohhh. When you nod your head yes but you wanna say no, what do you mean?"

I started laughing at the fact he actually knew the words.

"Didn't know you were the JB type." I said, still laughing.

"I'm not, but his songs are on the radio 24/7. And hey, gotta admit it's kinda catchy." He said, laughing too.

I decided to join him and, soon enough, we were both singing loudly, and rather badly, if I do say so myself. I have to admit though, it was a pretty fun thing to do.

I was so relieved to know that even though Aiden and I kissed today, and then almost kissed a second time, we never ended up making it awkward around each other. It was like we'd just magically forget it even happened at the moment. However, part of me knew that, eventually, all of this would come up and I'd have to deal with it whether I liked it or not. I didn't think we could go much longer pretending these things weren't happening.

Either way, I think I was slowly starting to learn to embrace Aiden's...Aideness. It's like the more time we spent together, the less I hated him. Honestly, today had been pretty fun. We didn't argue, with the exception of me having a panic attack and then punching him, and I actually enjoyed being with him. I didn't know how to feel about that. It made me feel at peace and yet, it scared me at the same time.

After our jam out, I felt pretty exhausted and really felt like taking a nap. I bit my lip, debating whether or not I should actually fall asleep in front of Aiden. I didn't know if I was prepared to risk getting drool all over me and letting him see me at my worst point.

Aiden turned to look at me for a second, noticing I had gotten quiet.

"Why so frown-y?" He asked and I sighed, rubbing my eyes shortly after.

"I'm sleepy." I admitted.

"Oh okay. Uh, well you can get my sweatshirt in the backseat and put it on top of you as a blankie, if you want. Or put it on, it's up to you." He offered and I smiled at him.

He could be such a distracted mess but could also be so thoughtful at the same time. Men have a very complex brain that I'm not sure I'll ever really understand.

"Thank you." I said and he smiled back, nodding at me in a friendly way.

I grabbed the sweatshirt and put it on. It smelt really good. It smelt like Aiden.

I put the hoodie on to cover my head and then turned around and faced the car door so that Aiden couldn't watch me while I slept.

After a few minutes, I finally drifted off into a deep sleep.

--

I woke up to someone gently rubbing my back and whispering my name.

"June, we're here."

I slowly opened my eyes and noticed a big house outside.

"C'mon, you gotta get dressed again." Aiden said and I groaned. I forgot all I had on was Aiden's sweatshirt and my bikini.

I got out of the car and put my shorts and t-shirt back on.

"Alright, here we go. You ready?" Aiden asked and I smiled groggily.

"As ready as can be." I said, letting out a yawn.

I stood in the same spot for a few seconds, trying to wake myself up a little more. Finally, we both walked towards the door and he rang the doorbell.

"Your parents have a very nice house." I commented, taking a better look at it.

It was huge and very pretty. It had a front porch with many flower pots hanging from the ceiling, and a little swing bench. They had many bushes and trees that worked as a fence on the sides and into the backyard. The house was definitely the type of home wealthy people live in.

"Thank you." He said and then a man opened the door for us.

As we walked in, he greeted us.

"Hello Mr. Blackwood. And hello, Ms..."

"June." I said, smiling politely at him.

He nodded in understanding. "Good evening Ms. June."

"Hey, what's up James?" Aiden said, fist bumping him, which made James look somewhat awkward. You could tell he wasn't used to having Aiden around.

"Your parents are waiting in the dining room. Should I let them know you're here?" He asked, and I felt all the nervousness come back.

Aiden took a look at me and shook his head.

"Not yet. I'm going take June to the guest closet and get her something more proper for the occasion. I also need to go and put something else on." Aiden said and James seemed somewhat relieved. He was probably hoping Aiden and I wouldn't go have dinner with these clothes on.

With that said, we both began to make our way to the 'guest' closet. Whatever that is.

As we walked, I noticed the house was bigger than I thought. The house had two main stairways at the entrance and your typical chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

"I didn't know you had a butler!" I said, shocked at the fact he had never mentioned he was rich. Not that it mattered much, but it would've been cool to know.

"I don't have one anymore. My parents do." He pointed out and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"You know what I meant." I said and he just shrugged, as if it weren't that big of a deal.

Finally, after passing about five bedrooms and what looked like a playroom, we arrived at the guest closet.

My mouth was agape when I saw it.

"Dude, this is better than Hannah Montana's closet." I said and he let out a deep laugh.

"Well then, enjoy it. Just pick a casual dress. Nothing too fancy." He said and shot me a smile before exiting out of the room and shutting the door behind him.

The closet was arranged by size and gender. They had a section for jackets, shirts, pants, dresses, and shoes. I walked over to the dresses section and began to look for a casual one like Aiden had told me to do.

After digging through many fancy ones, I found a simple navy blue strapless one with white flowers on the bottom. I slipped it on and it fit just right. Oh, thank goodness.

Then, I proceeded to find a pair of shoes. It was so tempting to put on some sparkly, beautiful heels but sadly, they didn't match my dress at all. Besides, wearing heels is the worst.

At the end, I ended up just putting my navy blue converse back on. I don't think Aiden meant this casual, but the rest of the shoes either didn't match or didn't fit right. I didn't really have a choice.

I looked at myself in a mirror on the wall and noticed my hair had dried pretty well and my natural long wavy curls looked decent for once. You could see the gold highlights in my brown hair and I smiled in satisfaction. That's when I remembered I had no makeup on.

Crap.

I couldn't just show up downstairs completely bare faced!

It was already bad enough that I had to come borrow a dress and wear my converse. Clearly, his parents are kind of a big deal. I needed to look at least remotely nice in front of them. I was pretty tanned from all the time I'd spent in the sun today, so thankfully, I didn't look like a vampire, but I needed at least some mascara.

Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door.

"June, you done?" Aiden asked and I opened the door.

"My face." I stated and he gave me a weird look.

"What about it?"

"It's naked! I need some mascara at least! I'm not showing up like this downstairs." I said and he rolled his eyes playfully at my girly comments.

"There's a box in here with some makeup, I think." He said and walked in the room

He grabbed a box that was just lying on a corner. He opened it and there were several eyeliners, eyeshadows and mascaras.

I swear, this house is amazing.

"Oh my—thank you!" I said happily and quickly put on some light sparkly silver eyeshadow, some eyeliner, and some mascara. Surprisingly, Aiden just stood there and waited for me to finish. Who knew patience existed within him?

"Alright, I'm done." I smiled and he nodded in satisfaction.

"You look good, cupcake." He complimented and that's when I finally took a look at what he was wearing. My mouth opened in surprise when I realized we accidentally matched.

"Hey look! We're both matching!" I said childishly, and he looked at my outfit, then at his.

He was wearing some khakis, an opened button up, short sleeved, navy blue shirt with a white plain t-shirt underneath, and some blue converse.

His mouth formed an 'o' and then raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, well then I should probably go change. This is kinda creepy. My parents will probably make something out of it." He said awkwardly and then I faked a laugh.

"Right." Was all I said, and then we awkwardly stood there in silence for a second just looking at each other's outfits.

Okay, yeah, it was kind of creepy.

Just as Aiden turned around, James walked in and spoke.

"Oh, you're both ready. Great!" He started. looking at both of us and nodding his head in approval. "Well, you better get going because your mother is waiting. You're already ten minutes late." He told us and Aiden sighed.

"Guess I can't change now." He mumbled and then we all made our way downstairs. I felt myself start to get nervous once again and Aiden seemed to notice. He gave me a reassuring smile, trying to comfort me, and I smiled back gratefully.

Okay June, you'll be fine. It's just Aiden's family.

Aiden's possibly super attractive, rich family.

No. That doesn't matter. Bella would probably be there. I'm sure they won't be rude. It'll be great. Just be calm, collected, and mature. That's all you need to do.

Finally, we entered the dining room, and there they were: Bella and Aiden's parents.

...and a gorgeous blue eyed, plump lipped, brunette.

She looked me up and down as if to judge my appearance, and then at Aiden, smiling at him.

Okay...

That's definitely not his cousin.

A/N:

HELLO LOVELY PEOPLE! So, no it is not Thursday! I have decided that if I get to edit my chapters on time I will update on Tuesdays. If I don't, it will be on Thursdays. This means there will be no update on Thursday this week! It's either one or the other so I guess it will be a surprise from now on! (:

Don't forget to comment/vote!

Hope you liked the Jaiden stuff here lol
