Chapter 5 - Frost

Everyone had to walk back to their Empire as it was too dangerous to fly. The blizzard was bad enough that Lizzie's ocean was already starting to freeze over. The ocean.

Some people weren't used to the cold or anything so they had to stay in Mythland. Others however, had their Empires too far from Mythland so they stayed at other Empires.

Lizzie and Joel made it to Mezalea but it was too dangerous for Lizzie to swim back to Ocean Empire. Joey decided to stay at Rivendell with Xornoth. Gem and Fwhip stayed at the Crystal Cliffs. Niki Nihachu, a new member, Empress of the Syndicate Empire, stayed at Katherine's place. Pix, Jimmy and Pearl made it back to their own Empires.

Jimmy had made it back to his Cod Empire. He managed to get inside his house and close the door.

Wait. The cod! Sure the cod could survive surprisingly cold temperatures but probably nothing like this! It was absolutely FREEZING!

Jimmy immediately went to check on his cod. When he found that they were doing perfectly fine under a thin sheet of ice, he headed back to his house.

He then realized that the snowfall here was in fact, lighter than it was before in the Mythlands. It was just simply heavy snowfall. Sure it was very heavy, but compared to the blizzard in Mythland, this was nothing.

Jimmy frowned, confused. He couldn't figure out why the snowfall was lighter here. Maybe he had just gotten used to the mass amount of snow and just perceives it differently now?

As Jimmy headed toward his front door, he accidentally hit something with his boot. The cod hybrid looked down to see something red in the midst of white snow. Was it...Blood? Shaking from both the cold and fear, Jimmy bent down to find that it was just a flower. A poppy to be exact. The cod father picked up the small flower and brought it inside.

How could this little flower survive weather like this? Upon closer inspection, Jimmy found out it was lightly frosted over. Did the 'demon' do this? If it were really a demon, wouldn't it have destroyed this flower too?

Jimmy carefully placed the poppy into his hair, feeling as if it was the only right thing to do.

Niki, her Empire being too far from Mythland to be able to get to safely, decided to stay at Katherine's place.

"Is it me or is the snow lighter here?" Niki said, noticing the slight change.

"You're right," Katherine said. "It just seems slightly lighter. I wonder why..."

"You're right," Katherine said. "It just seems slightly lighter. I wonder why..."

"I wonder if it's like this in other Empires," Niki said softly.

"Well, let's get inside," Katherine said. "Lighter or not, this snowstorm is freezing!"

The two hurried into Katherine's house.

"Hey, Katherine?" Niki said.

"Yea?"

"On our way here, I notice the only flowers that are still alive from the cold are the poppies."

"The poppies?"

"Yea." Niki held one out to Katherine. "I managed to pick one up on our way here. The other flowers seemed to be dead or maybe buried under the snow."

Niki was indeed, correct. The poppy seemed to be frosted over or maybe frozen but alive nonetheless.

"That's strange," Katherine said. She carefully placed the frosted flower into a pot with soil that was coated with snow. It only felt right to as this plant was the only survivor of the harsh winter weather.

"What does it mean?"

"I don't know Niki..."

So in other Empires, the severity of the storm, out of 10, is off the shit but in Katherine's Empire, it's more like 100/10 and in Jimmy's, it's more like 80/10 ig? Tried my best to explain it. Also Shubble isn't here because Xornoth never got corrupted. I chose Niki instead because ✨ w o m e n ✨ and, I mean, Scott and Niki do know each other don't they? Also Syndicate Empire because I said so. Her theme is going to be somewhat related to the members of the Syndicate. Also, sorry for the short chapter-
