Chapter 12 - I Love You

Wasn't it just freezing? Wasn't he trapped in ice? Then why is it warm? Joey, without opening his eyes, buried his face further into whatever was keeping him warm. He heard a small grunt from underneath him.

Wait.

Joey pushed himself up onto his arms in a quick panic. But his panic was squashed when he realized that the thing keeping him warm wasn't an object. More of a person. Particularly Xornoth.

Joey sighed in relief as he lowered himself back on top of his crush...

Wait.

Oh.

OH WAIT-

Joey was SLEEPING on top of XORNOTH! The Lost Emperor's face grew warm at the realization. He scrambled off in a panic, accidentally waking up Xornoth.

"I- How did I get here? Why am I on top of you-" Joey's face was bright red and he was muttering nonsense under his breath.

"Good morning to you too," Xornoth said, scarcastically.

"Good morning," Joey finally said. "Can you answer my questions?"

"I brought you here. You're on top of me because you're on top of me."

Joey rolled his eyes.

Scott loving brushed the sleeping cod hybrid's hair.

What the hell are you doing.

Exor's voice interrupted Scott's care for Jimmy.

Why do you want to know?

Scott had managed to figure out how to communicate with Exor through his mind instead of orally.

Don't you use that tone with me!

Scott rolled his eyes. Whatever. Just leave me alone, will you?

Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Scott let out the breath he didn't realize he was holding. He looked down at the cod hybrid. He had to leave. He couldn't stay near Jimmy for much longer. Who knows what Exor will do to him.

Scott carefully got out of the bed, trying his best to not wake up Jimmy. He went towards the door. He opened the door and stepped outside. But before he closed the door, he looked back at Jimmy who was now hugging a pillow, sleeping ever so peacefully.
