Two years have passed since lady (l/n) bought her grand daughter to the lotus temple she proudly watched (y/n) blossom into a strong beautiful woman capable of holding her own against the world she passed peacefully knowing her grand daughter could now face the world without her.

(Y/n) stood over her grandmothers grave holding a white lotus flower in the palm of her delicate hands her (e/c) orbs admired the flower as she fondly remembered her grandmother, she had a wistful look on her face as she placed the lotus flower on her grandmothers grave she kissed the head stone saying a silent prayer for her beloved grandmother.

"It's time." Koji said he placed a strong hand over the young lotus dancers shoulder firmly giving it a reassuring squeeze, offering her a warm but soft smile (y/n) relaxed to his touch Kojis presence bought her a sense of welcomed comfort she placed a hand over his nodding curtly.

"I was just saying goodbye." She replied with a wistful smile giving his hand a squeeze reassuring him that she was alright, she glanced over her shoulder as they departed looking at her grandmothers grave one last time as they left on their journey to Fujikasane mountain she did not know when they would return nor if they will ever return the adventure they are about to embark on is one filled with danger lurking in every shadow.

The finale selection for the demon slayer corps have finally arrived the day she anxiously awaited the day she would see her beloved, her heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing the eldest kamado son, she began to let her mind drift wondering how the tragedy could have changed him was he still that innocent, bubbly and warm boy she remembered so fondly.

(Y/n) inhaled a deep breath trying to calm her nerves as they neared their destination wisteria trees stood in the distance their purple flowers bloomed brightly, she clamped her sweaty hands her mind began to race with thoughts of what she would say to him "are you nervous about the exam or about seeing him?" Koji said cocking an eyebrow his raven hair creating a shadow over his dark eyes.

"Both." (Y/n) replied in a hushed tone as she wiped her sweaty hands on her shrine maiden garments Koji smiled warmly placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder "what if he isn't happy to see me?" Koji dug his free hand in his back pocket scrounging through it his face lighting up as he pulled out a wad of candy offering the girl some sweet treats "You're over thinking (y/n)." He replied placing a sweet in her palm humming happily as he unwrapped one shoving it in his mouth.

His lips curled into a delighted smile as he chewed the toffee his hands unwrapping another "thank you Koji." (Y/n) replied letting out a hearty chuckle as she watched the boy scarf down his hidden candy, She had grown fond of the boy during her stay at the lotus temple he was warm and welcoming above all he was supportive they bonded over romance novels and music.

Her life underwent a complete overhaul in the past two years a 9 months after her departure her fathers letters became fewer and fewer until they stopped coming at all, (y/n) travelled to Tokyo to investigate what she found there broke her heart.

Koji and (y/n) arrived at Tokyo to visit her father Koji suggested the trip after weeks passed without lord (l/n) writing a letter to his only daughter, "what if a demon got him?" She asked in a anxious tone chewing her lips anxiously.

"(Y/n) you're over thinking it he runs your family business here in Tokyo he's probably just busy." Koji replied trying to reassure his friend "you'll see when we arrive at his house he'll be in good health and happy to see you." (Y/n) nodded biting her nails.

"Yeah you're right." She replied perking up the corners of her lips curling into a confident smile "I'm sure he has a good reason." (Y/n) said as they approached the door, Koji noticed her hesitation to knock "here let me." He said firmly knocking on the door.

They were surprised when a very pregnant woman opened the front door she had a confused look on her face "hello children can I help you?" She politely smiling warmly, they exchanged a confused look turning back to the woman "I'm sorry we're looking for Lord (l/n)." Koji said hesitantly.

"I'm afraid my husband isn't home would you like me to give him a message?" (Y/n) grew pale hearing the word husband her father never mentioned a woman, marriage or another child in his letters, "You're pregnant." (Y/n) said in a shaky voice the woman's face lit up as she placed her hands on her baby bump.

"I am my husband is especially excited for his first child he said." Her world shattered hearing the words first child out of the woman's mouth she stumbled as she began to fell faint, Koji caught his friend in his arms he saw the tears welling up in her (e/c) orbs without saying anything he dragged her away leaving the woman confused.

"He doesn't want me anymore." She sobbed into Kojis shoulder as he held her in a warm embrace a sense of guilt riddled him for bringing her to Tokyo, "he's a fool for not wanting you any father would be proud to have a daughter like you." (Y/n) hiccuped as she pulled away wiping her tears with her sleeves.

They walked through the streets of Tokyo preparing to depart on their journey home to the temple (y/n) had not spoken a word since the incident, Koji tried desperately to cheer her up buying her sweet and savoury treats he tried lightening the mood with hearty jokes to no prevail he decided to let her process this enjoying the treats by himself.

Her head hung low as she stared at her feet ignoring the crowd around her lanterns lit the city street as night descended on Tokyo (y/n) perked up as she bumped into a stranger she glanced up her puffy blood shot eyes met a unfamiliar pair of red eyes that held an ominous glow.

She swallowed the lump in her throat avoiding eye contact with the well dressed stranger, trying to hide her tear stained faced she bowed respectfully "I apologise sir I didn't see where I was going." She said apologetically, her voice was raspy from sobbing the man offered her a warm smile his eyes seemed cold and vacant.

"It happens." He replied pausing momentarily (y/n) began to feel a familiar tingle the arms on her hair stood up it was an effect of her demon blood it allowed her to sense the presence of demons even when hidden "be careful you wouldn't want to bump into the wrong person miss (l/n)" her eyes widened as the man said her name she looked up at the stranger but he was already gone.

"Hey (y/n) there you are what happened?" Koji asked seeing the pale look on the girls face he cocked an eyebrow, was he a demon? (Y/n) shook her head "nothing." She replied grabbing his wrist pulling him through the crowed of people in a hurry.

(Y/n) hasn't spoken of the incident with the mysterious stranger from the city of Tokyo a few days after they returned to the temple she received a letter from her father, he said that he had started a new life and he thinks she should start her new life without him.

(Y/n) never wrote a response instead she scrunched up the paper and threw it out the window in a fit, Lady (l/n) was furious when Koji informed her of their discovery in Tokyo "That ungrateful son of mine." Lady (l/n) screamed her voice echoing through out the temple Koji watched with a frightened expression as her aura grew dark he carefully back out of the room closing the sliding door behind him.

He heard the sound of glass breaking as objects were thrown across the room "how could he do that to her she already lost her mother." She said enraged her nostrils flared in anger it took several days to calm her grandmother down she had packed her bags for Tokyo determined to beat her son with her cane on his own door step.

The two lotus dancers walked through the crowd that gathered around the mountain "I was hoping he'd be here." (Y/n) said with a solemn expression her eyes fluttering to the ground, Koji placed a warm hand on her shoulder offering her a sincere smile "he'll be here." He reassured they drifted into the crowd unaware of a pair of burgundy eyes watching them from a distance.

Tanjiro placed a hand over his heart a pained look painted his face there in the distance stood (y/n) and the mysterious man his teeth gritted as he felt envious, he must be the reason why she never wrote him back Tanjiro had written her letters during his stay with master Urokodaki each expressing how he dearly missed her.

He wrote how once he found a way to turn Nezuko back he'd find his way home to her his burgundy eyes held a look of jealousy, he shook his head trying to rid himself of the negative thoughts it was unlike him to feel hostility.

He should be happy for her all he ever wanted was for her to be happy even if it meant letting her find that happiness with another man, his brows furrowed as he tried to focus on the task at hand but he couldn't stop his burgundy eyes from drifting over the (h/c) haired girl who laughed carelessly with her male companion a wistful expression on her face.

His heart ached yearning to hear her laugh, feel the warmth of her embrace and see the smile that lit up his world he fought the urge to approach her forcing himself to turn his back to the two, (y/n) perked up as she noticed a familiar head of burgundy hair she turned around but there was nothing I must be seeing things she thought to herself turning back to Koji.
