"A day out"

Ajay
Oru devathai paarkum neram ithu...
My brain sings as I watch Sreedevi who is patting her wet hair with a towel standing in the bedroom balcony. I chuckle at myself. How I have changed in a week. I was someone who didn't even care about somebody's existence, a week ago, but today, by some or the other way, this woman in this beautiful orange saree means a lot.
Everything about Sreedevi feels like a magic. I know her since my childhood. Each and everyone in our gang hated her as she was always with herself and silent. We all avoided talking to her and I got used to it. But ever since I started talking to her casually, I just cant stop myself from getting closer to her. She was just a human being that exist on earth according to me, but after knowing her, she is not just a woman, she is Magic.
My heart wants to know everything about her. First time after years, everything around me is boring except her. First time I am feeling like watching movie with someone. First time I am feeling like going out with someone.
I am already excited to go to Coimbatore for wedding. Not because the fact that I am going home or meet my family, but the fact that I am going with Sreedevi. Its not the first time, I am going to Coimbatore with her. We have been there for a couple of times after marriage. But this time its different la? There is a change in our propotion and I am damn sure that I will be enjoying this trip because
Sreedevi is not a boring character like my fellow friends think.
Everyone knew that I was under some kind of depression. All my friends knew that I was marrying her only because my mom forced me to do so. As soon as I accepted to marry her, my friends especially Pragan tried to convince me that I needn't do this for my mom's sake. But my mom requested them not to change my mind as she was doing it for me to overcome my depression.
Avala katikita avan innum depresion la thaan povaan
I remember Pragan murmuring when Mom warned them.
If I wasn't in depression, Pragan and others would have cut ties with me for marrying Devi as they hated her.
But Devi is worth it!
I know nobody is permanant, but all I have in my life is Sreedevi and I have decided to not leave her like that anymore but now I feel like I should cherish every part of her. Like, I have never seen her angry and it was so cute seeing her getting angry. Like that I wanna cherish every side of her which she have been hiding from everyone.
Sreedevi turns around and I immediately act like sleeping burying my face in the pillow.
"Ajay??" She walks inside the bedroom. "Ajayy... Naa pathuten.."
I didn't raise my head but continued acting.
"Ajay? Ezhunthiringa mani 10 aayiduch" Sreedevi sat on the bed beside me.
"Mchh..." I sulked and tilted my head towards her "Ipove enthirich enna panna porom"
She gasped closing her mouth "Munadi elam neenga 5 manike enthichurvinga... Ipo mani 10 aachu.. Enthich enna panna porom nu kekringa??"
"Apo office irunthuch maa" I yawned and sat up stretching my limbs.
She sighed and stared my face. I touched my face checking whether there was something on my face.
"Mch" she pulled my hands.
I chuckled at her.
"Seri detergent, soap ellam gaali ayiduch...Supermarket poyi vaangit vaanga.. Naa list ready panren" she said and moved out of the room.
I moved to the restroom to refresh and took my own time to finish my morning chores. After a fresh shower, I got dressed in a white shirt and brown pants. I walked to hall and saw Sreedevi wiping the dining table, her saree tucked on her waist and hair tied in a bun.
"Aiyo ready ayitingala.. Naa inum list prepare pannala... Oru 5 minutes irunga varen" she walked past me.
I held her hands. She stopped and turned to me. I left her hands and cleared my throat.
"Athu... List lam onum venda... Neeyum vaa" I said.
"Naan ah??"
"Ama nee thaan.. Vera yaaru?"
"Aiyo Ajay naa ellam varala"
"Yen vara koodathu..."
"Yen varanum?"
"Inga summa thane iruka?"
She glared me "Athukk??"
"Athuk neyum varanum" I tied my hands behind me.
"Naa ellam varala pa..." She whined "Ipo naa varanum na dress mathanum.." she said.
"Yen intha saree enna nalla thane irukku"
"Ithuvaa???" She looked down herself at that orange saree.
"Ama.. Nalla thaa irukku vaa"
She pouted.
"Please maaa... Vaa"
"Seri naa dress change panite varen" she said.
"Haa okay" I shrugged. Atleast she is coming out.
"Haa okay va? Apo intha saree nalla illa thane??" She placed her hands on either sides of her waist and glared me.
Aathadi aathaa
I gulped.
"Poi sonneengala? Ungala nambi ithe dress la vanthurntha epdi irunthurkum" she hit my arms harshly.
"Ssssss.. Valikuthu maa" I rubbed my arms.
She moved to the bedroom without minding me.
I sat on the sofa playing with the car keys. Irritating her is also fun, but the only thing is I should arrange some defence from her sudden attacks. Though her palms are very tiny, it do hurts when she hits harshly. Trust me!
After 15 minutes, Sreedevi came dressed in a simple maroon chudidhar. Some hair from both the sides were combed and clutched in the middle.
"Polama?"
She nodded.
We moved out of the house after switching off the lights and locked our flat. We walked towards the lift but I stopped in middle seeing the woman that is walking towards us.
BBC news of Sunrise Apartments.
"Ajay yen nineetinga?"
Before I could answer Sreedevi or before I could hide away-
"Thambi????" That woman stood two inches before me.
Sreedevi and I smiled awkwardly at her.
"Enna thambi... Pontati kooda veliya poringala?"
Illa un mamiyar kooda poren
I shut my brain and just nodded at her.
"Enna ma.. Sowkiyama? Namma munnadi pathurkom.. Ana pesnathu illa... Naa thambi kitta unga veetla vela keten.. Ethuk pa un vootkariya kashtapaduthura.. Naa vela pathu tharen nu sonnen... Ana avan thaan illa illa avale pathupa apdinu sollitaan" she said to Sreedevi
How smoothly this woman is twisting words????
I eyed Sreedevi to not believe that stuff. She nodded slightly and awkwardly chuckled at that lady.
"Illa ka.. Naanga sernthu thaan ellam panrom.. Oru external help theva ila" Sreedevi said.
That lady was about to ask something but I interfered.
"Devi polama? Time aayiduch"
"Haan polamnga.. " She nodded at that lady and we moved from there hurriedly.
We left a huge breath when we reached the lift and shooked our heads looking each other.
We reached the ground floor and walked to our car in the parking lot. Sreedevi was standing near the door contemplating. I eyed her to sit in the front seat. She nodded and sat in the front seat. I started the car and we left to the supermarket nearby.
I played music in the car and Sreedevi just smiled hearing the songs. Nearby supermarkets were closed and we drove a bit more to the city thus we got trapped in the traffic. I tilted my head and saw Sreedevi staring some kids in the street who were running around their mother who was sitting on the footpath.
One child suddenly appeared out of nowhere with some toys begging her to buy it. She turned to me.
"Oru 50 rupee iruka? Naa bag eduthit varala"
I took a 50 rupees note from my pocket and gave her. She gave that to that kid and bought a set of pen.
"Thanks ka" that kid smiled and ran away.
Sreedevi just smiled.
Only when a horn sound heard, I came out from the trance and realised that the traffic was cleared. That little smile of her when she saw the kid jumping around made my day. Indeed she is a
