chapter twenty-seven: the grind
Elisa frowned as she sat in her bed, laying down. She looked over at her new photos that she took over her break. New frames adorning her wall.
"Elisa!" Janelle squealed as she ran in, making Elisa jump up and hug her.
"Janelle!" She responded, same level of energy.
The girls stood in the room in each other's arms.
"Did you talk to him?" Janelle asked as she pulled away, Elisa grabbed a picture frame of her and Peter and showed it to Janelle.
Janelle gasped and held it, holding a hand over her heart.
"My baby sister is thriving!" Janelle smiled and Elisa rolled her eyes with a smile.
"Yeah yeah," she said and looked at Janelles new weave design, "but look at this queen, left here with her a snack and come back to a four course meal!"
"Stop you're making me blush," Janelle fanned her face, doing a 360 and faced Elisa with a pose.
"Girl, you flexing on this whole campus!" Elisa laughed and looked to her dresser, watching her engineering project whir.
"What does that do?" Janelle asked, making Elisa smile.
"It cleans energy!" She answered, turning back to Janelle.
"You hungry?" Janelle asked and Elisa perked.
"I actually brought us food, I helped Vision make it for New Years so it's actually good," Elisa rambled, putting the picture frame back on the wall and walked over to her desk, a metal box sitting on top of her stuff.
"It's kept the food warm for us," she smiled and opened it, pulling out a paper plate and set the food on it.
"This is so sweet," Janelle smiled and Elisa shrugged, handing her the plate of food.
"Thought it'd be better than spending nine dollars on a sandwich as our reunion meal," Elisa smiled, making her own plate. They sat on the floor, leaned up against their beds, facing each other.
"So, tell me how you fixed things with Peter," Janelle smiled and Elisa smiled back.
"At first I wanted to run from him," Elisa started. Going on about the whole conversation and occasionally delving into his looks too much.
By the time they had finished, the food was gone and it was twelve in the morning.
"I would tell you about my break but I feel like I'm gonna pass out, good night lil' sis," Janelle smiled and Elisa smiled back, shutting the curtains and turning off the lamp.
"Good night big sis," Elisa smiled, climbing into bed.
Elisa shut her eyes and fell asleep, dreaming of a future with Peter.

"Get up, E!" Janelle shook her as she practically yelled.
"Jesus, what?" Elisa asked and Janelle sighed.
"You need to get up or you're going to be late!" Janelle sighed and Elisa shot out of bed, running around her side of the room.
Watching the girl, Janelle could have sworn Elisa had super speed.
"Elisa?" Janelle asked, Elisa raising an eyebrow as she put on mascara and put her makeup away, grabbing her toothbrush and toothpaste.
"Why don't you use your powers much?" Janelle asked.
"I don't have the need too, I'm not people watching or doing avenger work so there's no point," Elisa shrugged and Janelle nodded, "plus the light switch is that bright ass lamp and not next to the door so I don't have to turn it off."
Janelle laughed and Elisa stood up, grabbing her bag filled with completed homework and her keys. Elisa stuffed her hygiene essentials in Peters jacket pocket, picking up her project with both hands and looked to the door, opening it with her mind and ran up.
She ran down to a water fountain, quickly brushing and used her telekinesis to hold it up as she ran across campus with her project in hand. People stared as Elisa dodged people, looking as if she was on a football field, making it down to the goal.
Elisa finally made it to her first class, grabbing the brush and toothpaste and stuff then into a pocket in her bag. She pulled out her laptop and opened it to see her background, a photo of her and Peter laughing. It was an off guard, probably taken by Wanda.
She smiled and opened a new document for her notes. Elisa looked up and started writing down her notes. She could barely hear the professor but from what she saw from the notes, she knew exactly what he was talking about.
Elisa looked down at the project whirring next to her, distracting a few kids who heard it. She blushed and shut it down, Elisa finished the notes.
45 minutes later, the class was dismissed, Elisa put her laptop away, pulling out her homework and set it on top of the project, standing up and shouldered on her bag, she picked up her stuff and walked down, set down the paperwork and walked out, walking to her next class, engineering.
"Kid, you lost?" A woman asked and Elisa raised an eyebrow.
"I'm going to class?" She answered, the woman scoffed.
"This is college," The woman spoke and the guy next to her widened his eyes.
"That's Elisa Stark," he pointed out.
"Thanks Captain Obvious, can I go to class now?" She asked sarcastically, sighing and adjusted her grip on her project, walking off.
That's when the woman stuck her leg out, tripping Elisa. She used her powers to keep her from falling, along with her project.
"What is wrong with you?" The guy asked as Elisa went invisible, walking off with her project.
"Just wanted to see what shield sees in that brat," The woman spoke, the conversation growing quieter.
"I'm breaking up with you," she heard and whistled, turning a corner and walked into the class. Becoming visible and walked over to her workbench, setting the bag down underneath the table and checked up in the machine, starting it up and checked her product mass.
"Stark," The professor called out, walking over to her table as he flipped to a new page in his binder.
"What do we have here?" He asked.
"The Energy Cleanserinator," She said and he he looked up at her as a few other students chuckled, "it was two am and phineas and ferb was on."
"I don't need the story," he gave a weak smile and inspected the machine, "so what does it do?"
"It take energy and purifies it," she smiled and he looked to her, raising an eyebrow.
"You made a battery that lasts forever?" He asked and she nodded.
He nodded, an impressed expression on his face.
"Good job," he said, finishing his notes and handed her the sheet of paper.

Think of some more creative names!
Elisa smiled and set her project on her shelf. She sighed and looked at her phone as he didn't want to do anything for the rest of class. Elisa smiled at the text she got from Peter. She stared at it, leaning forward and used one hand to respond. Her mind was also focused on the tools that were laid on in the desk. The last person left a mess. She sighed and fixed it with the telekinesis, texting Peter as it finished.
"Weirdo," she heard someone whisper and Elisa rolled her eyes, setting her phone down on the bench.
She reached into her bag, finding a sheet of paper. She grabbed the sharpie on her desk and wrote in big letters @ ME. Elisa grabbed her phone again and lifted the sign using her powers, the person who was trashing her stopped talking.
Elisa lowered the sign with a smirk and turned around, seeing some people stare at a guy at a bench off to the side who looked angry.
She sighed and shook her head.
Kids these days.
