A grave mistake
Deep within the forests of Vale, Adam Taurus and a small group of White Fang travel through the forest in search of something known as The King's Tomb. He truly believes that by defiling the corpse of a war hero will shatter the morale of Vale. Although searching for a week, Adam is determined to find this tomb. As they continue to walk, a White Fang member rushes over to him.
"Adam, Adam! We found something! I believe it might be the tomb entrance!", he says as he stops infront of Adam.
"How can you be certain?", Adam said, bracing himself for another false alarm, his hand firmly placed on Wilt and Blush as he stares down the White Fang grunt through the mask obscuring the upper half of his face.
"We found a cave with two pillars outside the entrance and the Vale symbol overhead. I was sent to find you while the rest went in to search inside." The grunt explains to him.
Adam sports a smirk from the news, "Lead me to it."
----
Inside the cave, the three remaining White Fang members make their way deeper into the cave, their weapons drawn in case of anything. Using their flashlights, they light their way in the cave as they keep walking. As they continue on, one member starts to wobble on the spot and places his hand on the wall to balance himself out. Another with deer antlers rushes over and places her hand on his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" she says with concern for her fellow White Fang.
"I'm fine. Just got light headed is all." He says as he shakes his head to clear the sudden dizziness.
They move on and continue walking down the cave. After a few minutes they come across a strange stone door. Knowing what to do they immediately start placing explosives on the door. All three of them feel an unsettling warmth emanating from the door as they are setting up the bombs, the strange feeling of light headedness striking all of them. They walk a fair distance from the stone door to avoid the blast. After a few seconds of walking, the one with the antlers pulls out a detonator and presses down on the button. A loud explosion reverberates off the walls and shakes the whole cave.
The air around them suddenly starts to burn as they hear footsteps coming towards them.
----
After a few minutes of walking, Adam and his group of White Fang make it to the cave. Now believing this to truly be The King's Tomb, Adam starts to walk towards it. Before he could take another step, two members stumble out of the cave. One of them trying to hold up the other, both of them seem to be covered in blisters while most of their skin is completely red. They both fall to the ground, one on his back as he convulse and hyperventilate while the other falls to his hands and knees while gagging. A second later he starts to vomit blood on the forest floor.
Shocked by what he is seeing, Adam takes a step forward, "What the hell happened!?" He yells as he grabs his sword. The air starts to get strangely warmer.
Immediately he starts to hear screaming from the cave. It continues to get louder as a tall figure starts to walk out of the cave. He is seen wearing a grey fur pelt and leather pants, a bow is slung over his shoulder and a handle of an unknown weapon pokes over the other. What catches Adam's attention is what is on his head. There is the skull of what appears to be a sabre tooth tiger. Adam now notices that the screaming is coming from the remaining White Fang being dragged across the ground by one of her legs. She continues to scream as her skin seems to boil for no reason, smoke emanating from her body. The stranger stops as his victim keeps screaming. Suddenly, with eminence strength, he swings her in the air and smashes her head open on the ground, finally silencing her. Her skin still blistering.
Adam and the rest of the White Fang flinch from the audible crunch. The strange man grabs his bow and charges at them.
"Fire!" Adam yells as he pulls out his sword and uses the scabbard's built in fire arm to shoot as well. The figure rolls forward, getting back up and immediately pulling back the bow with three strange arrows in place. As he lets go, the three arrows are sent straight to three seporate targets. Two being impaled in the head while the third arrow punctures through and into another behind them. The White Fang start to surround him, their bullets tearing through him as if his aura is non existent. None of this seems to faze him as he stands back up.
One large member, a lieutenant, charges at him with a chainsaw. The stranger grabs the handle over his shoulder and swings it around to block an on coming attack, till being shot by the others. The new weapon seems to be a flat club with black shards embedded around the edges. He pushes the chainsaw out of the way and swiftly chops through both of his arms with the strange weapon. As the lieutenant yells in pain, the two stumps seem to emit smoke once the weapon made contact. Wasting no time the stranger swings his weapon and embeds it in the lieutenant's head, killing him instantly.
Watching his lieutenant fall to the ground, Adam sheathes his sword and prepares strike. Before he can, however, he notices the stranger starts to emit a bright light from his body, raising his hands out. Thinking fast Adam quickly runs into the forest just as an explosion goes off, sending him flying into a tree. Aside from Adam, the rest of the White Fang are consumed by the explosion and incinerate to nothing along with the surrounding flora. Consumed by a burning sensation, Adam struggles to get back up as he looks back at the explosion. All that remains is the stranger standing within a small crater. He steps out of the crater and walks towards Adam.
"Stay back!" Adam desperately yells as he tries to crawl away, consumed with fatigue. As the figure moves closer the strange burning sensation becomes more intense. Within moments the stranger is on top of Adam and places both of his hands on the faunus's face. As his hands make contact, Adam's face begins to burn from the touch. Screaming from pain, Adam tries to grab the stranger's arms only for his hands to start burning as well.
As the stranger continues to hold onto Adam's head, smoke starts to emanate from between his finger as blisters begin to form on Adam's face and hands. Adam's mask begins to melt away and burn into his eyes. Screams slowly fading, Adam begins to struggle less and less with each passing moment as the burns become unbearable. Finally releasing the head, the stranger pulls his hands back as some skin peels away from Adam's face along from his hands. His eyes are completely burnt from their sockets, nearly covered from the blisters. Two burnt hand marks cover most of Adam's face now.
Finished with his prey the stranger stands back up and starts walking through the forest, plants wilting away in his path.

Professor Ozpin sits at his desk over looking the reports on his scroll. A few days ago he heard that the grave of an old friend of his was desecrated by the White Fang. What caught is attention, however, is that the sight is now a radiation hotspot. Three officers have lost their lives before they found out. At first he chocked it up as the act of the White Fang, but the silhouettes of bodies on the ground and nearby trees show that this bomb was used against them.
What he found most disturbing is that they found the body of Adam Taurus, leader of the White Fang, just a little ways away from the blast zone. His face and hands heavily burnt. He swipes across his scroll to show another picture of a strange but very familiar kind of arrow. A two and a half foot long metal arrow with no feathers. Ozpin only knows of one man that could be able to use these arrows, a warrior by the name of Polo the Huntsman. An old friend of the former king of Vale many years ago.
What still confuses him is what are one of Polo's signature arrows doing there? And why was it one of the most heavily irradiated things at the scene? Before he could think any further, Ozpin receives a message from one of the investigators at the location. He presses a button and reads it.
[Professor Ozpin, during our search of the tomb, we found nothing much but the body of who I assume to be the king. Along with an old journal. Unfortunately the journal is highly irradiated as well. So, we have taken the liberty of taking photos of the pages and sending them to you. Keep in mind that most of the pages are either missing or coated in what I believe to be blood.]
Ozpin scrolls down and finds photos of aged out yellow pages, but still mostly readable. True to the investigators word there are not that many pages as it seems, and most of them are covered in blood. Over all, Ozpin recognizes this handwriting as that of the king...

Quite an interesting day. A week after the peace treaty, Polo claims to have discovered a new mineral never before seen. He has called it 'Polonium' after himself. He never seaces to amuse me with his antics. I am a little concerned about this mineral though. Anyone, except Polo, that is around this Polonium seems to fall ill. I will trust Polo's judgement on this and shrug this off as a paranoid king worrying for his people.

I have just discovered something quite unsettling about the final battle of the Great War. I found out how Polo survived. His semblance allows him to absorb any form of energy and use it for his own gain. I have learned that that includes the life energy of another being. He has been reaping the lives of others to prolong hi-------- speak with him as -----------ible.

I too am trapped in my own tomb with this thing I was once proud to call my friend. Whatever sickness that emanates from Polo is quickly getting to me. He no longer tries to fight me, but just sits across the room. Staring at me.
----
That was all that he could read. Ozpin couldn't believe it. He knew of the disappearances and strange sickness that plagued Vale all those years ago, but never knew it was all orchestrated by someone he trusted. The only real question now is, why? Why betray the king and his own people?
Wasting no time, Ozpin grabs his scroll and prepares to make some calls. However, as he looks down at his scroll, a drop of blood drips onto the device. Surprised by this, Ozpin raises his hand up to his nose and wipes it. As he pulls away, he sees blood on his fingers. Before he can question it, he hears the sound of a straining bow. Quickly looking up, all he had time to see is a familiar arrow flying towards his head.
----
"It has been one week since the death of Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy, and it seems to have sparked a series of disappearances all across Vale and Vacuo. Along with pockets of radiation mysteriously popping up in both kingdoms. As the new Headmaster, Professor Glynda Goodwitch reassures that she is doing everything within her power to figure out what is happening to our kingdom. I'm Lisa Lavender, and this is VNN." As Cinder watches the news on her scroll, she can't help but smile on how easy this will all be now.
Ozpin dead, all of Remnant in a panic, there is no possible way Salem's plan will fail. The death of Adam Taurus will complicate things however. She still doesn't know what he was searching for, but it was obvious it has led to the loss of his life. Which is the loss of the White Fang's support in the end.
She hears footsteps approaching her. Turning around she sees the deranged scorpion faunus, Tyrian. However, he seems to be much more pale as of recently, "Tyrian, you look... awful."
"Your opinion is duly ignored. The mistress sent me to find you." Said Tyrian with a monotone voice as he lets out a cough at the end. He leads Cinder through the halls of the Grimm Castle. They make their way to the doors of the meeting room. Tyrian takes the lead and opens the doors, being the first to greet Salem. "Hello, mistress! I have brought Cinder as you asked." He says taking a bow.
"Oh my god!" Cinder shouts as she sees the form at the end of the table.
Tyrian looks up in confusion and sees what has arisen her panic. Sitting limp in the main chair is the body of the Queen of Grimm, Salem. A single metal arrow pierced through her chest keeping her upright in the chair. Her head, chopped just above the jaw, lays on the table infront of her body. Blood covering most of Salem's black gown.
Suddenly Tyrian is struck at the base of his skull with another of those arrows, dropping him dead. Moving quickly Cinder spins around and launches a fireball at the doorway, only to be met with a fly macuachuitl being embedded into her left shoulder. She falls backwards onto the floor as her shoulder begins to turn red and blister. As she stares at the protruding weapon, breathing heavily, the sound of footsteps approaching catches her attention. She stares into the doorway and sees a bulky figure walking towards her, patting his chest to put out the fire caused by Cinder. What catches her attention the most was the type of headgear her attacker was wearing.
As he is now standing above her he grabs his weapon and yanks it out of Cinder's shoulder, eliciting a yelp of pain from her. Looking down at her, he quickly raises his weapon and swings it down on her. Cinder raises her one working arm up to try and protect herself, only for the weapon to cleave right through it and into her chest. Over and over again, he struck down Cinder until her cries of pain are silent and the audible crunching of shattered bones become soft thuds.
As he is about lay down another strike he stops, the sound of voices can be heard in the distance. One boy and one girl. He decides to move on from the pile of meat and runs into the halls to where the voices are. On the hunt for more prey.
