war boy
i see what i get
the motion of walking--right foot, left foot
takes me nowhere, although
in this trickery path that has left me
perspiring in a sweat of guilt
pushes me to a house
a frolicking, aged house
starting to slump at the sides
but its rear still adamant about standing
and i see you in the window sill
perspicaciously grazing over my state
see that my hair has become something you can't even decipher
my statuesque stance quickly shrinking
a mere boy shooing me away with one solid stare
but i see everything
and you do not approve of my wiles
sitting behind a glass
that keeps everything nice and somber
as i walk--right foot, left foot
into the troubled airs
of this time
my time--your time too
you choose to ignore
as i behold everything
from the darkest sky to the dreary, stretching sun
as you sit behind your tepid, sagging cover
