i started shaking

heart like a leaf

descending into spiraled self-doubt

wretched feelings about

about me 

the inadequacy

the inadequacy

torment convulsed

drilled into the back of my head

and further back

until undefinite shadows scared me

i saw--see you everywhere 

like a ghost that won't die

and i restrict my movement

my eyes do not waver

hoping you don't resurface, that peace comes

anxiety builds

and you return

hair on edge,  nut-cracked open head
