Chapter 5: Forgiveness & the Schuyler Sisters
Y/N's POV
It had been a week since I had last seen Thomas. Well, I'd seen him. Like, walking in the street or something. But every time I'd try to talk to him, he'd turn on his heel and walk away.
I knew that me taking Alex's side must have hurt his feelings, but running away from me like that? That's just childish.
So I put on a mask of courage and stomped over to Thomas' huge mansion.
I couldn't help but think about how much I missed his face as I knocked on the door. The way he smiled. Even the dramatic way he walked. I pictured me in his arms.
But I knew that these fantasies were wrong to have. With Thomas' looks and personality, he was bound to be taken. And just because he flirted with me doesn't mean that he had feelings for me!
Right? He seemed like the kind of guy who would do that...
That's when the door creaked open, and Thomas' bouncy hair greeted me, along with his beautiful face.
"H-" I started to say, but got cut off by Thomas attempting to shut the door in my face; the attempt was a fail.
A foot that wasn't my own blocked the door from shutting. I turned around to see who it was.
Eliza was the one keeping the door open, while two other unfamiliar women were standing behind her, looking annoyed. Most likely at Thomas.
"Hey, Eliza. W-what's going o-" I began, but Eliza raised a hand to silence me. She glared at Thomas.
"Alexander told me everything about the meeting. And we need to have a little chat with Tommy over here. Come along, guys."
Me and the two women strode into Monticello, while Thomas said nothing. He seemed too shocked to try and kick us out.
We all sat down on Thomas' couch, including him. That's when he began to protest, trying to keep his composure. "Listen, ladies. You need to leave. I'm in the middle of something."
"What, taking a little nap?" one of the unfamiliar women spoke up. She had dark skin, curly, brown hair, and wore a yellow dress.
I snorted at her remark, earning a death glare from Thomas.
Eliza looked at the woman, a small smile crossing her lips. She then turned back to Thomas and started asking him questions, with lecturing in between every couple of words.
"So, what stupid reason did you start avoiding Y/N for?" I knew she already knew the answer, but it was sort of a therapy session, I guess. So she had to ask.
Thomas grumbled the answer so that we couldn't hear.
"What? Speak up," the other unfamiliar woman demanded. She had slightly darker skin than the first, curly, black hair, and wore a pink dress.
Thomas sighed and did as he was told. "Because Y/N sided with Hamilton and not me." He looked at Eliza when he said that.
Eliza told him, "Tell her, not me."
He looked at me with those brown eyes of his. "Because you sided with Hamilton and not me."
Eliza and the other women nodded. (I'm pretty Eliza told them about the meeting too.) Eliza turned to me. "And how does being avoided make you feel?"
I looked at Thomas. "Well, it's kinda crappy. I mean, I knew that that would hurt your feelings, but I was kinda in a rough spot. If I agreed with you, the plan would get to my dad and there would be a chance that the plan would be approved, and if I didn't, your feelings would get hurt. I couldn't risk your plan getting approved, because, no offense, I didn't like it. So I sided with Alex. But running away was kinda childish on your part. But, for the record, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings."
Thomas smiled at me for the first time in weeks. "It's okay. I guess I was being pretty childish."
Eliza nodded. "Yes. Yes you were."
Everyone shared a laugh.
I turned to the two other women. "I'm sorry, guys, but I didn't catch your name."
The one in yellow smiled. "I'm Peggy."
The one in pink smiled as well and stuck out her hand for me to shake. "Angelica. Pleasure to meet you."
I took her hand. "Same to you. And, I'm Y/N, if you didn't know."
"We know," Peggy and Angelica chorused.
"Eliza told us everything from your name to what Thomas did," Angelica said, glaring at Thomas. He guiltily shrugged, smiling.
I raised an eyebrow. "How do you guys know Eliza? I was curious since you came here, but I couldn't find the right time to ask."
The women all looked at each other and smiled. "We're sisters!" they all told me simultaneously.
"Aww!" I smiled. "You guys make really cute siblings!"
They stood up and curtseyed. "Why, thank you!"
Thomas began to look nervous. "Um, can I have a moment alone with Y/N, please?"
They all nodded curtly and left the room, dresses sweeping behind them.
Thomas stood up from the couch, as did I. Because, well, I HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON.
He began to walk towards me, while I stayed still. He stopped, and his chest was lightly touching mine. I could hear my heart pounding in my ears as he tucked a stray h/c hair behind my ear.
"You're really beautiful, you know that?" he purred.
"Th-thanks," I stuttered. My head raced with questions.
'Did he just call me beautiful?'
'What's happening?'
'Does he like me?'
He silenced my mind by pressing his lips against my own. I was shocked at first, but loosened up and melted into the kiss. His hands wandered through my hair and my arms were around his neck.
We pulled apart.
Thomas smirked at me. "I have a major thing for you, hun~."
I smiled, hoping I wasn't a tomato. "S-same, Thomas."
He kissed the top of my head and ushered me outside. "I'll see you soon, love~."
I waved as he shut the door. That's when a chorus of squealing could be heard behind me. I groaned and turned around.
As I expected, the sisters were having a fangirl fit. I rolled my eyes, chuckling. "I'm assuming you saw?"
"Every bit of it!" Peggy squealed. "You guys make the cutest couple!"
Angelica and Eliza nodded their heads in agreement.
I buried my face in my hands and blushed. "Stop."
Angelica removed my face from my hands. "Thomas is lucky to have you," she said, smiling.
I smiled as well.
Thomas' POV
As soon as I shut the door, my flirty attitude completely disappeared. I buried my face in my hands and made weird noises.
One of my maids, Sally, came down the stairs, a smirk on her face.
I looked up at her, a confused expression crossing my features. "What?"
When she said nothing and kept smirking, my face melted into pure terror. "Oh, no."
"Oh, yes," she laughed, resting a hand on my shoulder. "I saw everything, Thomas."
"From where?!"
There was a window on (one of) the upstairs floors that allowed people to look down at the floor below that, and she pointed to it. "The window."
There was silence, then...
"You should ask her out, Thomas."
My eyes widened. "Like...on a date?"
Sally nodded.
I thought for a moment, then got out a piece of parchment and a quill.
"That's the Thomas I know," Sally smiled.
Operation "Ask Y/N Out On a Date" is in full effect!
