Roses in Bloom
A/N: Okay, I've been meaning to tell you, the last chapter was like a crack chapter. I will repent for subjecting you guys to such retarded-ness. It was really weird, even for me. Well then, I'll get on with it.

Narrator's POV
Amy's heart was pounding in her chest, and for once in her life she was running not from fear nor anxiety that a life was going to be lost, but from the fear that if she stopped now, feelings would erupt. Feelings that had been locked ever since Evan's death, and if she ever had the nerve to crush on anyone, the guilt would eat her alive before anything could go anywhere.
Amy wasn't even running all that fast, it was more like a hasty jog to put as much distance between her and the devil behind her. "Devil" as in Jonah Wizard, fellow Cahill, distant, distant relative of the Cahills, internationally famous rap star, and currently, the main occupation of Amy's cluttered mind. She'd never let him know that and serve to inflate his already suffocating ego, but the racing and buzzing going on in her mind was driving her insane.
Part of her impulsive self just wanted to end it all and kiss the living daylights out of him for the shit that he tried to pull minutes prior, but her logic told her she'd be better off bungee jumping off a cliff with no support. So, she continued her run back to the mansion she'd wanted to leave so bad before, but now saw as her safe haven as Jonah followed her, still sauntering and simmering with pride as always.
Glancing back as she reached the gates of the mansion, she caught a glimpse of his smirk and quickly whipped her head around. "I want to wipe that smirk off with a Kleenex," she thought with frustration.
She entered the halls of the mansion, ready to lock herself in her room and break off any and all contact with. She was not in the mood to interact with people, most definitely not these people.
And as luck would have it, she was greeted by her always irritating dweeb of a brother, looking peeved, arms crossed and foot tapping the Pokemon theme song. What's new?
A look of exasperation pasted itself onto Amy's face. She was not dealing with this twerp; she was mentally exhausted, and she still had half the mind to strangle Dan.
"What." She deadpanned.
"You tell me what, Ames. HUH?!" Dan went bug-eyed, and he was straining so that his face and neck were pink and he looked like a constipated insect.
In response, Amy narrowed her eyes at him and contorted her face into one of bewilderment to indicate that she was both confused and about to possibly hurt him.
Dan had his open half-opened, about to reply when Jonah appeared behind Amy.
"What's goin' on?" Jonah, asked glancing between Dan and Amy, both seeming to be giving him dirty looks.
Jonah's questioning raised eyebrow riled Dan up even further, much to Amy's reluctant amusement.
Dan huffed and swiftly turned around and briskly marched into the house, indicating with a swivel of his head that they were to follow him.
They were led into the headquarters in the basement where the highest technological devices were installed so the Cahills could ensure that they had watch and control. They were literally the most important family of the world after all.
Ian was sitting in the swivel chair by the monitors, not turning to face Dan, Amy and Jonah as they walked in, instead letting out an uncharacteristic snort. He was intently focused on the multiple screens displayed, each showing a different part of the neighborhood.
Amy immediately picked up on the malicious vibes that were being expelled by both her brother and Ian, and stepped forward cautiously. Jonah seemed nonchalant either way, but Amy could see the way he was masking his doubt with the usual aura of confidence.
When she and Jonah were both in the room, Dan spoke up. "Cobra, you have the honors."
While Ian was working away at the keyboard, the main screen transitioned to a rewinding of a video, a recording of a dreadfully familiar scene.
Amy sucked in a breath while Jonah chuckled behind her, earning him several glares.
Amy felt that familiar pit in her stomach, when her heart jumped up and down, and her throat became dry and constricted; it was the same sensation she felt when she was the center of attention, and she felt the prickling gazes that bore into her.
The main screen replayed the part where she jumped into the dark slit of an alley with Jonah, and the silence that followed on the screen was broken by the hoard of girls. Seeing it from this perspective, it really did seem comical and ridiculously so. Evidently, Jonah had been thinking the same because he let out a laugh, worsening the blush that already adorned Amy's cheeks.
Minutes that seemed like hours to Amy passed after the fangirls left the scene, and what happened next made her entire being burn in flames of embarrassment.
On the screen, she was running out of the alley furiously blushing, with Jonah coming out seconds later smirking, hands in his pockets. When the footage ended, the screen blacked out, and tension filled the room.
Ian broke the silence first, to Amy's surprise - she'd expected Dan to explode before anyone could say anything, but looking over, she was almost on point with her prediction as Dan was fuming.
With his silky British accent, Ian said, obviously holding back the contempt, "Love, what were you doing with Jonah back there? Enlighten me, please." Dan was vigorously nodding his head, though it looked like he wanted to personally say some less sophisticated words.
Jonah rebutted before Amy had the chance to open her mouth to reply. Perfectly mimicking Ian's accent, the rap star mocked, "Snogging, obviously."
Eyes widened, mouths were agape and faces were red. Although Amy's was flushed for an entirely different reason.
It seemed that Dan had gotten over his anger and was now beyond disgusted. "Ewwww!" He crooned. He gagged and groaned, his disbelief that his sister, prude and nag extraordinaire would ever be subject for any sort of romantic affection; he was convinced at this point that guys really had no taste in girls if they were going for his sister.
Ian, on the other hand was itching to revert back to his villainous ways and drown Jonah in an assortment of poisons.
Just as the interrogation was about to start, Fiske's voice came in through the comm.
"Ian, may I ask what you are doing in there if you are not keeping an eye on the cameras?"
Everyone's heads turned to the screens. Indeed there were two figures standing at the front door, one obviously much older than the other.
"Is that-" Amy asked, trailing off, dismissing the possibility as impossible.
"ATTICUS!" Dan finished for her, completely disregarding her internal dismissal.
It was, indeed Atticus, and where Atticus was, you'd find Jake.
"And Jake, naturally." Ian deadpanned, sounding none too excited.
Jonah just sighed. Amy followed suit.
Why, oh why?
