Beginning of an End
A/N: Before the other announcement, here's a shoutout to my most avid readers and followers THANK YOU SO MUCH for a Wattpad writer like me, who's barely made it to the surface of the community, it really means a lot to have supporters like you guys. I really try to update more often than I am, but with school getting more intense, it's getting more infrequent, and I apologize. Once summer comes, be ready!
Now...
This fic is coming to an end! Other than the fact that this was never meant to be a long work with a plot or many characteristics of a true story, I've also hit a wall with this. I will take requests for one-shots, but this pleasure fic will come to a stop with each of the rivals leaving, because remember, this arrangement in the Cahills' mansion was not a permanent one. Adieu!

Strolling back to the mansion hand in hand, Amy and Hamilton basked in the comfortable silence and the early evening breeze. Still draped in the jacket she snatched off the rack, Amy stepped forward to unlock the front door, untangling her fingers from Hamilton's. His warmth lingered for a moment before dissipating and she couldn't help but mourn the loss as she pushed open the door.
Unsurprisingly, she was greeted by a small pandemonium. Discordant voices rang throughout the house and Amy could pick out "jacket" and "I'm late!" amongst the distinct yells.
Footsteps thundered down the stairs and Jonah, his dark skin glistening with a sheen of sweat skidded to a stop in front of her. His eyes landed on the leather jacket draped across Amy's shoulders and let out a shout of recognition.
Jonah strode towards her and she could feel Hamilton tense besides her. Oblivious, Jonah let out a sigh of relief, throwing a beaming grin at Amy. She handed him his jacket, looking utterly confused.
Jonah laughed. "This is custom-made, aight?"
Amy shook her head. "That's not what I meant. What are you in such a hurry for?"
Dan, Sinead, Ian, Jake, and Atticus came up behind Jonah when the commotion had been disturbed.
"I forgot I had a tour coming up. Going back to Europe, my people. They love me there." His eyes glazed over as he imagined the thousands of fans awaiting him.
Amy felt a pang in her heart. She was starting to grow attached to him and now he was going to leave so soon? It wasn't romantic attachment; no, that spot as reserved for one blondie. She glanced at Hamilton, who was watching the happenings with an inkling of a smile now. But she was just getting used to the spontaneous raps he belted and his inclination for physical contact. It was very often that Jonah would throw his arm around her or rest his chin on her head - it drove everyone crazy.
Catching the girl's forlorn expression, Jonah reached over to ruffle her hair. "No worries Ames, I'll hit you up sometime soon," he teased. Throwing a glance towards Hamilton, he continued in a whisper low enough that only the two of them could hear, "Watch out for me on TV, cool?" Drawing his head away with a wink, he chuckled when he saw the glare Hamilton was throwing his way.
He turned around to meet the gazes of the guys. "So long, fam."
Dan saluted him off, Sinead smiled warmly at him, Ian said nothing, but didn't snap when Jonah chuckled, Atticus waved cheerfully and Jake nodded his head in acknowledgement.
"YO NELLIE!" Jonah called.
A distinct voice yelled back from the kitchen. "YEAH?"
"SAYONARA!"
"BYE MY LOVE!"
Jonah spun back to Amy and Hamilton. She waited for Jonah to finish whatever form of bro handshake he had with Hamilton before smiling. Before she could say her proper goodbyes, Jonah leaned down and gave her a peck on the lips.
"Too bad it couldn't be in an alley, huh?" Jonah laughed when Hamilton socked him on the arm.
Messing her hair one last time, Jonah stepped to the door. "Gotta blast!"
Hamilton shouted at the retreating back of Jonah, "You know you indirectly kissed me, right?"
"Y"NASTY!" The star called back from outside, soundly thoroughly disgusted.
The door closed with a finality that left the house silent except for the clattering of dishes from the kitchen. Amy was coming to a realization that the guys were all going to leave sometime soon now that the Vesper issue had been resolved without a hitch and they were safely in federal prison. The arrangement was only temporary, after all.
She hadn't realized, however, that these guys no longer instilled fear in her like they did when they were still hostile and out for her throat. Even when they cooperated to fight the infestation of the Vespers, they'd never really gotten along. But now, something happened and the branch leaders were closer than anyone would imagine.
Hamilton rubbed soothing circles on the small of her back as if he knew exactly what he was thinking. Amy could practically feel the prickly gazes of everyone on them. She looked up to see a myriad of expressions.
Sinead held her hand out to Dan and Atticus and smirked triumphantly as they each placed a five dollar bill in her palm. Jake laughed, shaking his head in disappointment when he saw that his brother had lost the bet. Ian looked bewildered, shocked that he'd been outdone, and picking up on the lack of surprise from everyone else, irritated that he'd been left out of the loop.
Ian looked to Jake, "You knew about this?"
Jake leaned against the wall, crossing his arms and shrugging. Meeting Amy's eyes, he nodded imperceptibly, indicating that he was going to keep the happenings in the room between the two of them. And Hamilton, he gestured with the tilt of his head.
Sinead clapped her hands together. "Well, this was all very predictable. I'm going back to my room. Don't kiss and tell, dudes and dudettes."
"You're dating my sister?" Dan asked warily. Atticus was failing at stifling the grin on his face. Dan elbowed him.
Amy and Hamilton shared a look, coming to an agreement that their relationship could go official.
"Yeah, what about it dweeb?"
"I don't know how I feel about this." Dan whined. His turbo nerd and geek supreme of a sister dating his best buff buddy gave him conflicting emotions.
Looking thoroughly confused and frustrated, Dan frowned, "I'm going to drown my sorrows in a violent video game." Atticus looked fully on board as he trailed after Dan.
That left Ian and Jake, the most formidable opponents Hamilton had. Ian was gaining his narcissistic confidence back – Hamilton could tell from the way his posture straightened and his gaze leveled with his in an intimidation attempt. That would be difficult to handle. Jake had a glint in his eyes and the fact that Hamilton had no idea what he was thinking meant trouble. He did notice that Jake's gaze never really left Amy, looking as if he was planning his next move. The expression on his face was that of a conspirator.
Behind the shroud of calculations, Hamilton's arm never left its protective position resting on Amy's lower back.
She shrunk into his hold, seemingly wilting under the intense gazes of the guys. Her inexperience with such attention was putting her at a disadvantage. This battlefield was not going to be settled quietly. People were going to get hurt, and Amy had no doubt she would be one of them.
"Yikes," Amy thought, not out of concern for herself, but for the guys, because she had to bring out scary Amy, and that Amy hadn't seen the light since the Vespers.
