A/N: Chapter dedicated to The_Golden_Trash because she's really great. Okay? Okay.

"You're such an idiot!"

"Rey I'm--"

"Don't even try to make an excuse!"

"Rey I didn't--"

"You know what? First I find you sobbing on the ground for no obvious reason and now we don't have food tonight!"

"Rey--"

Her eyes started to water, as she brought out something from behind her back.

"Because of your fit, we had to leave early and we weren't able to get enough parts. And yesterday I noticed you were shivering which I'm guessing is due to Jakku's cold nights, and I felt bad. So when I went into the market today after your incident I could either trade the parts for a blanket or some food tonight. And you know what I did? I got the blasted blanket because I didn't want to see you shivering like that again. Here, take it or whatever." She threw the folded blanket harshly at him before storming out.

"Rey! Wait!"

She didn't answer and guilt seemed to fill Ben's insides. He shouldn't feel guilty, she was his mission. But he did, and the guilt started to eat at him.

That same guilt then drove him to walking out the AT-AT much to BB-8's dismay and walk North towards the town square. Ben heard a few angry beeps coming from the droid but he simply ignored them, clutching the same locket in his hand, hoping that it'll be worth something, anything.

As he walked on, he felt a slight vibration coming from his pocket.

Hux.

"What is it Hux?"

"How's the mission faring?"

"Good, the girl has no clue."

"Good, good. Snoke says to hurry it up."

"What do you mean?"

"He would like the map as soon as possible, so the girl is needed."

"I understand."

"Do not fail him Kylo Ren."

"I won't."

He sighed, placing the communication device safely back into his pocket. If Ben squinted hard enough he could see the town square in view. His hand tightened on the locket, a new found hope surged through him. Maybe by getting some portions for her, he could get her to trust him enough to leave with him. Just maybe.

But he didn't have to look that deep to realize that the mission wasn't the only reason driving him closer to the storefronts. Ben couldn't get himself to admit it though.

Soon enough the front of Unkar's stand came into view. It was quite an attraction. Big, grimy, and the center of the square.

So this is him.

He walked to the front, facing the man. Without much of a thought Ben placed the old locket in front of him. He saw a flash of greed go across Unkar's eyes.

"What might this be?"

"The locket of Queen Amidala."

Unkar's grubby little hands smoothed over the front. "Nice, very nice," He murmured. "I know some people who'll pay good money for this..."

"So what will you give me in return?"

A smile formed on Unkar's face showing off his missing teeth.

"20 portions and one of these three items."

The man turned around for a moment before stacking up the portions in a pile followed by the three items: a thin blanket, a single strand necklace with a small yellow mineral for a charm, and a pot. Ben pointed towards the necklace. "I'll take that one."

"Nice choice."

And with that Ben loaded up the satchel given to him earlier by Rey and he headed back up to where Rey lived. At this time the sun had moved closer to the horizon, after leaving the somewhat busy square Ben noticed it had went silent maybe except for the occasional vulture here and there. Soon enough the abandoned AT-AT came into view and outside, stood Rey and it seemed as if she was waiting for him.

Ben walked closer and soon realized Rey held an expression of pure anger on her face. He winced as she ran forward and hit him across the legs with her staff. He fell to the ground groaning.

"Don't you ever do that again, do you hear me? Don't you ever."

She hit him against the chest for good measure before letting him get up.

"What was that for?"

"Being stupid."

"Well, in my defense I was trying to apologize."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's go inside and I'll show you."

Rey nodded slowly and the two walked in. Ben sat down slowly on his mat and placed the satchel in front of his lap.

"You know that locket you found me holding?"

"Yeah and?"

"I apparently still had it with me when we came back."

"So?"

"So I've traded it?"

She didn't say anything as he pulled out the portions from his bag, making sure to keep the necklace inside.

"What...?" Rey breathed, her face in complete shock.

"I exchanged them for food, I felt bad because you couldn't get food for tonight."

She still held the same surprised expression on her face, crouching down in front of him she grabbed at the portions.

"Am I in a dream?"

"No, I guess the locket really was worth a lot."

Rey took the packages of food into her arms before going to store them in the shelves.

"So we aren't going to make one of them now."

She shook her head.

"It's getting late. We need all the sleep we can since we have an early wake tomorrow."

"We're scavenging again? But I just got all this food which you have yet to thank me for."

Rey smiled. "Yes, and thank you for the portions."

"Why are we going though?"

"We need shower tickets as well as items like clothing and plates."

Ben didn't say anything, instead nodding in response. He laid down onto his mat, pulling the blanket Rey gave him over him.

It seemed to have some grains of sand on it, but at that moment, he chose not to care. And before he drifted off to a dreamless sleep he remembered Rey's smile and found himself smiling too.

Just a little bit.
