Autumn's perspective

After being trapped in this room for what felt like hours without anything, I felt myself starting to starve. "Let me go!" I cried and pounded on the door as a last resort. I collapsed on the ground when no one reacted, having lost my last bits of energy. I placed my hands on the ground and lifted my head up, willing myself not to give up.

'The gang will come for me. My brothers will come for me,' I kept telling myself to keep positive.

I saw a match under the bed, laying there, and kicked up at the opportunity. Retrieving it from under the bed, I slid it towards me using my foot. I slid it across the cement floor as hard as I could without breaking the stick, a trick I learnt from Kyle. It still wouldn't light, as many times as I tried.

I sighed and picked up the stick in my dirt filled hand. I slid it across my painted fingernail and watched as the stick brightened in flame. Smiling at my success, I took the lit match and acted fast, walked quickly towards the cement door. I slipped the match under the small opening of the doorway as far into the hall as possible, hoping it would catch fire on something. Moments later, several smoke alarms went off and I heard yells from the other side of the door. Smiling slyly, I grabbed the empty glass that the man had accidentally left on the bed. I backed up to the other side of the room and went back to my original position, acting clueless. The cement door burst open and several men flew into the room. They came over to me and grabbed me by the arms as fast as they could, coughing as the smoke started filling the room.

I throw the glass I was holding at them and it shatters, the moment it hits the ground. They hesitate for a moment, letting go of me as a reaction, and I sprint out of the room and start racing down the hallway. I inhaled more smoke the faster I ran and broke out coughing but ignored it, as I turned down another hallway.

"Hey! Get back!" I heard a man scream and turned around just in time to see him trip over a log. I continue sprinting down the unfamiliar hallways, without any idea as to where I was going.

"The exit, the exit," I muttered to myself and continued running, my eyes wandering through for any sign of an exit. I reached a dead end at one of the smoked hall-ways. I squinted my eyes and finally noticed an open door. I could see sunlight from the other side so I sprinted in that direction, dodging the men running after me.

Seeing familiar figures standing near the end of an alleyway, I wonder how they came so close to finding me, before screaming out to them. "Adrien! Kyle! Colin!" I scream, out of breath as I sprint towards them. They turn at the sound of their names, eyes wide, before seeing me running towards them.

"Oh my god," I hear Kyle gasp, looking at the men chasing me, before jumping into the van behind them. Colin and Adrien help me get in the backseat of the van, before climbing in themself. Kyle immediately steps on the accelerator and we drive away, leaving the chasing men behind.

"Autumn! How? Wha-" Colin starts but immediately replaces his questions with, "my sister is a superhero," and pulls me into a hug.

I hug him back and Adrien holds onto me from the other side. "I was so worried," he says, a voice that sounded so close to breaking into tears. "I love you."

And this time, I was able to repeat it back to him, "I love you too."

"I'm super glad you're okay Aut, but you have a lot of explaining to do. What happened to rule three?" Kyle says, glancing at me through the rearview mirror. Noticing that he was still in his pajamas, I laugh before agreeing that I would.

Meeting Adrien and the gang brought out a new side of me I'd never met before. Although the thought of a new life with a boyfriend polar opposites of me would've been alien to me a while ago, as I spent more time with them, it became less unfamiliar. We all had people we loved from the other side of the tracks and all it took was one train ride to bring them out.

I love my brothers, I love my boyfriend, and I love my best friends. And this was the new life.
