Chapter 7 - Let's go on a Date!

Frisk's P.O.V

I woke up after a few hours of resting. I looked around the house for a clock and saw a time that read 10:50 a.m. I just remembered that Papyrus has asked me on a date. I wonder where he'll take me today?

I heard the door open and stepping out was Papyrus.

"CREATURE, YOU'RE AWAKE AT LAST!" He beamed, stomping his way down the stairs to approach me "NOW WE CAN FINALLY BEGAN OUR DATE. HOWEVER I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE BUT I BELIEVE WE'LL HAVE A GREAT TIME TOGETHER."

"So where are we going?" I asked.

"WELL, I DECIDED TO TAKE YOU OUT TO GRILLBY'S, BUT THAT PLACE IS SO GREASY."

"Grillby's?"

"THAT'S THE DINER THAT'S CLOSER TO OUR HOUSE. SANS ALWAYS GOES THERE TO EAT AND DRINK."

"Can we go there please?"

"WELL, IF YOU WANT, WE CAN BUT WE NEED TO GO AND SEE HOW SANS IS DOING." He picked me up into his arms. "COME ON, LET'S GO." He carried me to the front door, opens it to step outside and shuts the door behind him. I shivered due to the morning cold air so I snuggle myself against Papyrus to keep warm. Papyrus made his way to east side of Snowdin towards a dark cavern. I can hear the water rushing and when I looked up, I can see blue gems sparkling to create a glow to illuminate the darkness. By the time we arrived, I felt Papyrus stopping in his tracks. I looked up at him and notice his face scrunched up in annoyance. I followed his gaze to see Sans sleeping at his hot dog stand. Hearing a low growl, Papyrus stomped his way over and slammed his fist onto the counter.

"OH MY GOD, SANS! YOU LAZYBONES!" He yelled.

"Gah!" Sans immediately woke up from the bang and looked up with panic, only to calm down to see his brother and me. "Oh hey bro, hey kid, what's up?"

"LAZYBONES! HOW CAN YOU SLEEP WHILE ON THE JOB?"

"Dunno, but what's going on with you two?"

"FRISK AND I DECIDED, SINCE YOU'RE GOING ON YOUR LUNCH BREAK, WE'RE GOING TO GRILLBY'S TOGETHER."

"I thought you hated that place." He stated.

"I DO, HOWEVER, FRISK WANTS TO GO THERE SO I HAVE TRUST HER."

"Great, that means I'll tag along." He walked out of his station and stood beside them. "Let's go."

They turned around and began to walk back to Snowdin. As we walked, I saw some other Pokémons roaming around town. There's an Ursaring decorating a Christmas tree in the middle of town and a Scraggy just staring at him. I giggled when I heard the conservation. He was bragging about how cool the Head of the Royal guard was and how it beat up some bad Pokemons. I'm taking a guess that this Pokémon never stops talking about it. I felt my nose began to twitch and I let out a cute sneeze.

"ARE YOU OKAY THERE, CREATURE?" Papyrus asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Just little cold." I replied, smiling softly.

"Well, don't freeze up just yet. We're almost at Grillby's." Sans stated, continued walking until we arrived at the diner. I took a look at the building in front of us, it was like an old classic pub with the big orange title on top. "Welp, here we are. Let's head in." Sans opened the door and gestured us to head inside. Papyrus walked in and warmth of the place flows over us, thawing our coldness.

I surveyed the area of the pub as Papyrus puts me down on the ground. There are lots of Pokémons here including the Dog Pokémons I've encounter while journeying through the Snowdin Forest.

"Heya everybody." Sans greeted, as everyone in the pub greeted him back except quite a few of them were drunk. Sans lead the way while Papyrus and I followed him. I looked around and notice quite a few stares at me, making me nervous.

"(Oh, hi there. I remember you. You were that puppy that we met before, right?)" Dogressa greeted.

"Oh yeah, that's me." I replied happily, scratching the back of my head. She raised her paw and softly pats my head in a gentle gesture before returning back to her lover.

"Hey kid, over here." Sans called, as he got up on the bar stool. "Here, get comfortable."

I walked over and crouched down while wiggling my bottom and leap as high as I can to get on the stool. Well, just about... since I was at the edge while my belly was against the seat with my feet dangling off the edge. I clawed myself up until I sat down comfortably.

"GRRR... I REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS PLACE." Papyrus mumbled, taking a seat besides Sans.

"Alright, let's order." He reached over the counter, grabbed a menu and handed it to me. My small paws held the menu as I read through, my little eyes shifting left and right as I read. While I was reading, a Fire-type Pokémon approached from behind the counter and greeted us.

"Oh hello Sans, what brings you here?"

I perked from the menu and saw a Chandelure hovering in front of us wearing a white collar and black bowtie. (A/N: it's the accessory that dog wears on a formal wedding.)

"Oh, hey Grilllby, thoughta bring with my bro and the kid here for lunch," Sans replied casually, nodding his head at me and Papyrus.

"I see." The Chandelure fixed his gaze on me, "Who's this?"

"Oh, why don't you introduce yourself, kid?" He asked, nudging me in the arm by his elbow to make me answer the bartender's question.

"Uhh... Hi, my name is Frisk the Eevee." I introduced softly.

"Pleasure to meet you Frisk, I'm Grillby." The Magmar replied, holding his black arm out for me to shake his hand. "So, what would you guys like to order?"

"I'll have... Big Malasada with Moomoo Milk please." I ordered, looking back at the menu to make sure I've made my order correctly.

"Double order of the Big Malasada and I'll have 'the usual' thanks," Sans added.

Grillby nodded, writing down the order in his notebook before going to the kitchen at the back of the bar. While we were waiting, I spotted a jukebox in the corner of the bar. I leapt from my seat and made my way to the jukebox. I grabbed some gold from my bag, insert them into the machine and picked a song from the selection.

Classic jazz music filled the room and the Pokémon in the bar seem to like this music. Sometimes, other music they may have listened was quite nice except some songs they probably heard all of them. Later, Grillby came back from the kitchen with two plates and two drinks floating in the air due to using Psychic. He gave a plate of four malasadas and Moomoo Milk to me and another plate with a Soda Pop to Sans.

"Wow, this is so good." I squeaked happily, grabbing one from my plate and bite into it. I felt something sticky and gooey at the tip of my tongue. I pulled back to see white cream oozing out of the doughnut. It tasted like vanilla, but I shrugged it off and keep on eating.

"How's your food?" Sans asked, watching me eat my food.

"Great, how about your's?" I muffled with a mouthful of the malasada stuffed into my mouth.

"Not bad actually, never knew you like this food." He told me, grabbing the Soda Pop and chugged it down.

"That's because I have a sweet tooth." I winked at him, which made him blush a bit. I giggled and grabbed another malasada and gave it to Papyrus. "Here, try some."

"FINE." Papyrus took the malasada and threw it into his gaping mouth, chewing it quietly. "HMM... IT'S NOT BAD, BUT I WOULDN'T CHEAT ON MY SPAGHETTI."

The two of them finished off their malasadas and drinks before it was time to head back. I gulped the last remaining milk before placing the empty bottle back down.

"Looks like we're done here." Sans said, leaping off his seat and landed on the ground, "Say kid, could you pay the meal? It's only 1000G."

"What? 1000G!? That's impossible." I gasped in disbelief.

"HOW COULD YOU PAY ALL THAT, SANS?" Papyrus asked, glaring at his brother.

"Relax guys, I'll pay it later." Sans replied casually, before looking over at the bartender, "Grillby, put it on my tab." The Fire-type Pokemon glared at him before writing the total price on the receipt. "C'mon, we're going." He began to walk off and Papyrus and I followed him outside. The cold air returned back to us and I shivered again.

"NYEH? YOU'RE COLD AGAIN, CREATURE?" Papyrus asked as I nodded "WELL, I'LL TAKE YOU BACK TO OUR HOUSE SO WE CAN WARM YOU UP AGAIN." He picked me up again and looked over to Sans, "AS FOR YOU BROTHER, YOU GET BACK TO WORK."

"Sure thing, Papyrus, And thanks for taking me out on my breaks." Sans replied, and look at me, "I'll see you later then, kid." He waved goodbye before walking back to Waterfall.

"COME ON, LET'S GET YOU HOME," Papyrus told me, as he began to carry me back to his house. By the time we got the front door, he remembered something. "WAIT A MINUTE, I FORGOT TO SHOW YOU MY ROOM!" He began to stomp his way up to his room while I was holding onto his armour so I wouldn't fall off his hold, "ALLOW ME TO WELCOME YOU TO MY ROOM." He used one of his hands to open the door and stepped inside.

I surveyed his room, it looks like a kid's room except the bed was made of straws. There is a table of Pokemon figures, a Duskull flag, and box of Thick Clubs and Rare Bones.

"SO, NOW THAT WE'RE..." He started, looking around for something, "OH! I JUST REMEMBER!" He stomped over to the closet and opened up to reach to grab something which I cannot see. "AHA! FOUND IT!" He withdraws back from the closet carrying a box full of accessories, "CREATURE, I HAVE BROUGHT YOU SOME DRESS-UPS." He placed the box down and had a big grin on his face, "SINCE WE JUST HAD OUR DATE, WE CAN JUST HANG OUT HERE AND PLAY LOTS OF GAMES!"

I dropped my gaze upon the box curiously and reached in to grab a mask that looks like a green tortoise. Tilting my head in curiosity, I put it over my head and pulled the mask down to cover my face. I turned to Papyrus, who looks surprised and laughed.

"YOU'RE A TURTWIG, RIGHT?" He asked.

"Yes, I am!" I giggled.

"WELL, I CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT." Papyrus dug his hand into the box and pulled out a pair of Black Specs and put them on, "BEHOLD!" He struck a pose and grinned, "I'M THE COOLEST DUDE IN THE WHOLE UNDERGROUND!"

I snorted a giggle and used my paws to cover my mouth to stifle my laughter.

"SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK?"

"I love it!" I appraised.

"WOWIE!! A GENUINE COMPLIMENT!!!" He gasped, "THAT'S MEAN YOU REALLY LIKE MY SECRET STYLE!" I nodded to him, "I SEE... DO YOU THINK WE-" He was cut off when he heard a phone ring, "EXCUSE ME." He pulled off his specs, throwing it back in the box and stomped over to locate his Pokegear. He picked it up, pressing the button to answer and place it near his ear, "HELLO?" He said, and then a voice whispered out to him, "OH, HELLO UNDYNE. WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?" He narrowed his face as he listened to this voice name Undyne, "OH... I SEE, WELL OKAY, I'LL SEE YOU AT WATERFALL THEN." He ended his call and turned to me, "I'M SORRY CREATURE, BUT WE HAVE END OUR HANGOUT NOW. I NEED TO GO AND SPEAK WITH UNDYNE ABOUT SOMETHING, SO PLEASE STAY HERE IF YOU WANT, OKAY? AND HERE IS MY NUMBER IF YOU NEED ME." He gave me a piece of paper with his number on it, "GOODBYE." With that, he picked up his Thick Club and left his room.

I let out a sigh and removed the mask from my face before leaving his room and back to the couch in the living room. Hopping onto it, I curled myself up in the warm blankets and fall asleep.
