Hunting Ghosts.

Red gulped when it came time to enter Dragonspyre. He knew that Duncan had given him some protection from the Death Aura the world would have. But the rest? He wasn't so sure. He kept looking over his spellbook over and over again until Ceren went over.

"Are you ok?" He looked up before the more experienced Life Wizard sighed and sat down. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know." He closed the spellbook and looked at the ground. "I guess I'm just worried I won't do well. I don't even know what to expect there. I just know that Blue will be there. And... that's not really a lot to go on." Ceren hummed at his concern.

"Have you brought it up to anyone?"

"Duncan and Nolan aren't sure how to help. I would talk to Suzie If I saw her, but-" Ceren sighed.

"I meant teachers."

"Oh... then no. I... haven't talked to anyone. No one that would understand at least." Ceren hummed thoughtfully. "I don't know a lot of people who would understand."

"What about Professor Giovanni?" Red looked at him funny.

"You mean the scary Myth Professor?"

"You just don't like him because of what he said to you on your first day." Red looked away and went silent. "Red, he does that with everyone. He's always been cold hearted. But deep inside, he does have warmth and an open mind. And I believe you can open him up." Red shot a look at him. "Next time you see Nolan, ask him about the picture in the Myth Tower. And if he asks, tell him I said to do so. You'll take me later."

~

Nolan was definitely confused about the request, but once knew that it was Ceren's doing, he could only sigh.

"There's a picture in the Myth Tower that Professor Giovanni brought from his home in Dragonspyre alongside two children. The picture has him, the three children he had at an orphanage and his own child. It's... not confirmed if his son made it since he never got out of Dragonspyre. But Professor Blue and Professor Daisy were brought here after they were rescued. The picture is the only thing that shows the five together." Red paused.

"Wait... so why does-" Nolan hummed.

"Ceren believes that the kid is alive somewhere. But I know what happened." Red glanced at him. "The rumor that the kid never escaped is false. The kid did make it out and came here. But during the time he arrived, Professor Daisy had fallen ill. Blue pushed the kid out and a lot of hurtful things were said. Neither of them were in the right mind and Giovanni never learned." He then sighed. "Ceren thinks that bringing the kid back will warm the heart that has gone cold. But I think there's a better way to warm it up." Red blinked.

"Really?" Nolan nodded.

"I'm talking about the 4th kid. Blue, Daisy, His bio kid and a little boy named Purple. That kid not only warmed the professor's heart, but also brought the other three together whenever they fought." Red hummed at that. "Red, when you do go to Dragonspyre, find that kid. According to Daisy before her death, she helped him hide somewhere to protect him. He should still be alive. He might be able to help save Blue from himself as well." Red gulped.

"Thanks."

~

Suzie smiled as she watched Red's eyes lit up. She showed him a large, magic computer she had set up. Duncan chuckled at Red's surprise.

"This will allow me, Duncan and Nolan to help you around Dragonspyre without putting ourselves in danger." Red nodded as she tapped something. "Using the key will allow you to enter here. We have a way to get you into the first ring. We'll need to search to get you into the second ring." He instantly showed confusion. Nolan instantly spoke.

"Go to Dragonspyre and wait for us to contact you." Red nodded before going out. Suzie giggled at Duncan sigh.

"Thanks Nolan. I didn't see him get lost."

"Yeah yeah yeah."

~

Getting to the Academy wasn't the hard part. Or any of dragonspyre really. It was the Dragon's Maw, aka the Headmaster's Office, that tore him down. The trio were having a hard time connecting with him because of Blue's powerful aura, so he was on his own. He finally reached the door before slamming into it, finding it locked. Tears filled his eyes as he pounded on the door.

"No no no-" His head spun before a soft voice filled his head.

"Are you ok?"

His eyes shot back as he turned, seeing a purple haired boy, quietly staring at him. He blinked twice before nodding. The boy blinked before he pointed to the side, right at four Dragconics that were flying around within a magic circle. Red paused before he noticed a second on the other side. The voice spoke again.

"You take one side. I'll take the other."

Red paused before the boy ran over to the one side. The Life Wizard chose to not ask questions as he went to the other. When they finished, Red realized that the boy vanished, but the door was open. He shook his head before he raced up the stairs.

~

After he interrupted the ritual, Blue fired spells at him. Duncan's blessing was shattered as the Death Aura pinned him down.

"Weakling. You would never understand." The Life Wizard gulped as he tried to fight back, only getting pinned down again as the Death Master neared him. "I just want my life back. Death has torn apart my family and now it will pay for it!" Red bit his lip as he forced himself to stand. "You can't stand in my way. No one can. Now... VANISH!"

Something blocked the blast that was fired while Red dropped again from the Aura. He trembled before lifting his head and pausing. The boy from before had a rather strong shield up as the blast was forced around them. He gave a weak sound that got the kid's attention, merely getting a nod in response. The blast faded slowly, almost as if Blue was confused about what he had hit. Blue growled a little.

"Who do you think you are, getting in my way?" The boy let the barrier drop and stepped forward, allowing Red to regain strength. He finally spoke, a soft voice following.

"You know that answer, Blue." The rage was seemingly fading before he growled.

"Answer me!" The barrier was back up before Red started getting up again. The blast faded again before a sigh followed. Red felt a pat on his head before strength covered him.

"Could you go fight him for me?" Red nodded before he got to his feet and pulled out his wand.

~

After managing to dangerously wound the Death Master, the boy went over with a sigh.

"Bluey, you were always so firm on dividing people." Red stayed quiet as he went over and wrapped his arms around the male's head. "You just want to be strong for sis and not let her die in vain. And she didn't. But this won't do anything good for her." It took Blue a second before he spoke, gently grabbing the smaller boy's arm.

"Purple?" The boy smiled as tears coated the Death Master's face.

"Rest. Daisy's waiting."

~

Red guided Purple back to Wizard City, grouping up with the other three. Purple chose to hide behind him as he talked to them.

"He's gone?" Red nodded as Duncan sighed. "I guess it can't be helped. At least he'll get reunited with Professor Daisy now." Suzie hummed.

"To be completely honest, I'm kinda surprised that wasn't his first idea. But it's not like I can blame him. Not everyone would've thought of killing themselves first. Still, I'm glad he got some good news." Duncan nodded softly before Nolan asked the more important question.

"How were you able to find your way to him?" Red titled his head. "We lost you after you went up the elevator. Did you figure it out?"

"Figure... what out?" Suzie and Nolan locked eyes before Duncan cracked a smile. He wasn't even trying and he was able to break the sadness that the Death Wizard had built up. Nolan sighed.

"We lost you. How did you get to Blue?" Red's brain probably made a loud clicking noise because the boy finally spoke.

"He... got help." They paused as he stepped forward. "What? It wasn't my fault he tried hitting a door to get it to open." Duncan finally broke as he giggled at Red's face, which went red with embarrassment. The others giggled before Nolan knelt down to the kid.

"Let me guess... Purple, right?" The boy nodded. "Your dad's here if you want to go see him."

"Yeah." Nolan led him over to the Myth school as Red blinked twice. Duncan took his hand and led him to the dorms.

"Come on. You need sleep." Red nodded as he leaned against the Death Wizard, allowing him to guide him to his bed. He had fought the Master of Death after all.
