Aria was finally finished taking down the multitude of grunts that sent out their Pokémon's with her Kingambit and Quaquaval as the grunts yelled out, "Our Defenses are breached... It's all up to the bosses now!"

A pink car like Pokémon drove out of the tent as she stood her ground and her Quaqualva danced in place as the car drove out with a small, petite boy riding on the top of it, twirling his staff then making a pose and smirking.

"Huh, so you're Aria... Okaaay... Talk about underwhelming. I was expecting someone, I dunno, a little more beefed up?" He said while placing his chin on his hands and staff, "Well, whatever! I don't care who you are. Not like we're gonna lose to you anyways-"

Aria tilted her head in questioning, "Uhm... What do you mean, there's only one person standing on the Revaroom and that's...?"

Ortega looked next to him and noticed that, then facepalmed, "Oh my..." He then stared out and looked around, "Where'd (Y/n) go?!" He said as the grunts all looked around for the said boy.

"I'm over here, Ortie!" (Y/n) said as he ran up from the entrance of the base with his Toxel on his shoulder, and him looking disheveled with snow and mud covering his feet.

"(Y/n), you're supposed to be prepared for these situations!" Ortega yelled out as he waved his arms and staff in the air as Aria stood in front of the large Revaroom with a Quaquaval ready to battle, "You're not supposed to look like that before a battle-!"

(Y/n) climbed up onto the Revaroom, "Uph, my bad! I just had to let my Toxel play a little before we battled the person who was takin' all of the others down, so that we could practice a little and take them down!"

Ortega only blushed and facepalmed as (Y/n) grinned mischievously, then he regained his position from before (Y/n) waltzed off somewhere, "I swear sometimes, you can be really infuriating sometimes..."

"But you like it when I am!" (Y/n) chanted out as he held out a Pokéball and waited for Ortega to say his part of the speech.

"Anyways... As I was saying before we lost my partner for a moment. We're not going to lose against you!" Ortega said smirking holding his staff in front of him, "If you think Fairy types are all about cuteness, you're in for a nasty suprise!"

(Y/n) then hopped around Ortega, causing Ortega to blush and pull his staff back, "And if you think Poison can't melt Steel, you're also in for a corrosive conundrum!"

Aria stood her ground and trembled a bit as her Quaquaval and Kingambit were in battle ready positions, as Ortega spun his staff, twirling it around before tossing it into his other hand, then being interrupted by (Y/n) pulling him close and hugging him tightly as he held out a Dusk Ball, while Ortega held out a Luxury Ball.

"(Y/n)-! We're in a battle, you don't hug me beforehand!" Ortega yelled out as (Y/n) grinned excitedly, before letting him out of the hug and tossing out his Grafaiai. Ortega could only look like a Applin before sending out his Azumarill and shaking off the embarrassment of being hugged before a battle in front of a challenger.

Ortega then held his staff in his hand, and tapped it against his palms a few times before speaking, "I promise, we'll play nice, so don't blame me when this battle sends you blubbering back home!" He said as he gave Aria a look.

(Y/n) frowned, seemingly a bit jealous but angry, "I'm not! She's trying to make the team disband. I'll play rough, so you can blame me if she gets sent off." He said while gently grabbing a hold of Ortega's hand, and tugging it close to him a bit.

Aria looked at the two, seemingly taking a moment, this battle was gonna be a little tough, but she could manage as she had her two strongest Pokémon on the field.

The battle was tense, and by tense, this omniscient narrative means a tension between the two 'partners' was making the battle a little easier and less fun than Aria thought it'd be.

There was chaos in the battle and everytime Aria tried to hit Ortega's Pokémon, (Y/n) would counter the attacks with his Pokémon's attacks, but would mostly counter with not very effective attacks, and every time he commanded them to though, Ortega would would tell (Y/n) that he didn't need to be protected. A few times though, Aria noticed Ortega was mouthing something. Sometimes in battle one partner would stop battling just because the other wasn't going right in battle, and (Y/n) wouldn't really pay attention to the battle.

Aria sighed, realizing what was going on, so she yelled out and called time out. "A-Alright! Time out you two!" She said as she returned Queengambit to her ball, "What's going on with you two? Y'all are supposed to be partners in this fight and put your heads together, not literally!"

"What do you mean?" (Y/n) said as he stopped staring at Ortega for a moment, "We're working together perfectly fine!"

Ortega huffed then turned away from them with a irritated look, "We are working together well, this is just one of the times we aren't giving our full power."

Aria sighed, "Elvis literally almost one-shotted one of your boyfriend's Pokémon when it countered him. Then when he did that you tried telling him what to do."

(Y/n) looked to the side of him in embarrassment, then started whistling.

"You both need to work together as one, despite your differences!" Aria said as she tossed out Queengambit again, "You need to work together like one person and plan together too. If you don't then your battles are gonna end up being boring and not fun..."

"Why you-" Ortega was interrupted by (Y/n).

"No wait... She's got a point." He said as he slowly but gently grasped his partner's hand, "... Maybe we can try to work together as one?"

Ortega stared into (Y/n)'s glossy (e/c) eyes for a moment, his cheeks flushing a pink as light as his hair was, then nodding, "F-Fine... But we do this together, and I-I'm taking the first move, okay?"

(Y/n) smiled, his face flushing with happiness, "That's fine with me, Pinky..." He said as he turned to Aria still holding Ortega's hand, "Alright, Aria! Let's do this! Me and Ortie are gonna make you see Stars as we beat you down to the ground!"

Ortega nodded, "Agreed, (N/n), let's show this person how we deal with meteors!"

Aria and laughed a bit, "That's the spirit! Now show me that your two opposite minds combined!"

Aria might have lost that battle, but she was glad she was able to help the two lovers fix up their relationship and battles.

But that didn't mean she wasn't going to challenge them again, so next battle, she'd win for sure.

Sorry this took a while to come up with, I've been a bit busy trying to come up with better ideas for one-shots or I've been busy trying to deal with taking care of the house while I'm on my last days of Christmas Break.

Speaking of Christmas, how was y'all's Christmas? Did you all have a good time and get good stuff that you wanted?

Not much happened on mine, but I did get to see my brothers and sister again and hang out with my s/o, and I did get some Pokémon Cards and I got to play some S/V with my s/o too, so I'm happy. :D
