For this one, Give me my sister's Purrloin back boy. ... Yeah, I should've came up with something better for him, I'm sorry-
If you are a person who doesn't like situations like this, feel free to skip this one-shot.

... Why did this have to happen? Why did I not listen to them when they had told me to stay?
What happened you might ask? Well, let me explain.
I'm (Y/n) (L/n), a person who traveled around the world with my partner Pokémon, Salamance. I was one of the most talented Flying-type trainers to ever have been born, is what most people say about me, and some would say I was a fearless Sky Trainer and that I was brave to decide to fly across the world and it's many dangers that thrived underneath the world's beautiful facade, especially with having only one Pokémon with me, and I was praised as a hero due to helping out in some of the incidents that happened throughout the regions, like the incident that involved a woman being killed in the process, after she had attempted to make Rayquaza obey her commands, or the incident where a Team known as Team Galactic attempted to create a new world and destroy the one that currently thrived with the Legendary Devil itself, Giratina. Though I did nothing mostly in these battles, except help them fight with the grunts and villians of the teams, I was hailed as the Angelic Wyvern as I soared upon the regions, assisting in defending the world from ruin.
I've been to almost every region. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, Galar, almost the whole entirety of the world. The only region where I have not been was Unova, and although I was warned by my sibling that I shouldn't go there due to it being incredibly cold from it being winter. I decided to ignore their warning.
Well, you know Beartic, right? The Ice Type Bear Pokémon that evolves from Cubchoo? Well, it seems we had caught a pack of Beartic's eyes, and a few had aimed at Salamance's wings as to knock him down into the snow. Salamance tried his best to stay up for at least a little bit longer, but his wings were frozen, and unable to hold up any longer, and crashed into the snow, taking me along with it.
"Ack-!" I said as my back hit the snow. I tried pushing myself up as I tried to get to my Partner Pokémon to check if he was okay. Salamance still had a pulse thankfully, and he was still breathing, but his breathing was faint.
"Salamance, you've done enough for now..." I returned him to his Pokéball, "We've g-gotta find a Pokémon to h-heal you up a-at..." I then continued my journey through the snow as it continued to fall on my own. I wasn't risking my Pokémon's life just so I could live and besides, he was like family to me and you never leave the people you call family behind.
A few hours of walking, my body started to feel heavy. Where even was I? Was I anywhere near a route or city yet? Or was I just completely lost in general to the point, that no matter what was going to happen, I was going to die in the cold, leaving Salamance to suffer in the cold with me. I didn't want that to happen, it couldn't happen... I had to keep pushing forwards...! But unfortunately, my legs had decided they finally had enough and gave out from underneath me.
"N-No-! I-I can't give up yet! I-I still... haven't made it back home y-yet! I still..." My eyes slowly fluttered closed as I tried to drag myself forwards, "I st-still haven't made it back home..."
I closed my eyes and everything was fading from white to black. Before I was completely unconscious though, I heard a voice speak out from above me as I felt myself being picked up by a pair of warm arms, before letting my body rest in the person's arms.
--------
I had awoken in a warm room. I wasn't dead from the cold thankfully, but I could only wonder where I had ended up. The room was warm and comfortable, and the bed I was in was enough to put me into another sense of sleep if I had stayed lying down. I was questioning on if I should get up or not, when the door to the room was suddenly opened and I looked at the silhouette who stood at the door.
It was a boy around my age, he had dark blue spike-like air, and wore a red and white jacket and blue pants to finish off the look. He also wore some black fingerless gloves, which made me confused as to why he was wearing those type of gloves in winter. I didn't question it though.
"So, you're finally awake." The boy spoke as he walked towards me, "What made you decide to go out into the cold without a single fire type on you and only flying type Pokémon? Don't you realize that you could've risked losing your life out there?"
I nodded, "Yes, I did realize that, but I only wished to get here to Unova to finish what I've been aiming to do for a while."
"And what's worth so much that it involved getting almost killed by hypothermia?" He scolded me, seemingly disappointed.
"I wanted to finish my dream of traveling to every region of this world. I've always wanted to see what it was like to be unbound from my home in my region and what it was like to actually travel out on an adventure like everyone else has." I said as I smiled, remembering the first day I left to travel to my first destination, Kanto.
"Really? You could've waited until winter had ended then," He told me as I looked at him with a irritated look on my face, "Seriously. You can ask your Salamance what it feels like and he would tell you how much it hurts."
I was going to come up with a come back, but then I realized that it was true, especially due to Salamance having a 4x weakness to ice types with its Dragon/Flying type.
I reached for my bag to see if Salamance was still there but then realized that it wasn't on me, "Wait, where's did he-?!"
The boy shushed me, "Don't worry, your Pokémon is fine, all it needed was a trip to the Pokémon Center and a small rest. It's still in its ball, don't worry."
I sighed, relieved that it was okay and not still critically injured, "Oh thank Arceus... I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I had lost my Pokémon." I then tried to stand up, only to have been pushed lightly back down by the boy.
"No, you're still not able to completely stand. You need just a little bit more rest, then you should be able to walk around." He told me with a bit of genuine concern in his tone as he turned to walk out of the room, "And you can stay with me until winter ends."
"H-Hey! Wait, I didn't get your name yet! Can you tell me who you are?" I said as he stopped in his tracks before he could walk out of the room.
He gave a small grin, then spoke, "I'm Hugh. What's your name?"
I smiled softly, "I'm (Y/n)..."
Over the months that I stayed, Hugh took care of me, making sure I had ate everyday and making sure I had everything I needed. And each day I had felt myself becoming more and more healthy and by the end of the next two weeks, I was fully back to health, and although I wanted to leave earlier, I didn't want to deal with another situation like with what happened to me and Salamance again, so I took up Hugh's offer on staying with him until winter had ended. Though, for some reason, he would never let me go out of the house alone as he'd stay right by my side so that an incident wouldn't happen again. I didn't mind it too much, he acted like a husband to me, but it did annoy me when I attempted to buy things with my own money, only to have him decide he wanted to pay for whatever I was buying himself.
It was only small until one day, he told me that it was too cold to go outside and that we were snowed in too much to be able to go out, and I, although reluctant, believed him.
After that day, it was the same thing over and over again, but with different excuses each time.
"We can't go outside, there's people taking advantage of other people's schedules and if we leave, they'll come here and steal things from us."
"A pack of aggressive ice type Pokémon have been roaming the streets again, if you went out, you wouldn't be able to properly protect yourself."
"Team Plasma Grunts have been stealing Pokémon again, if we went out they'd try to steal your Salamance from you."
Each excuse I believed, yet every time he had went out to get food or essentials, it was perfectly safe to go outside.
Each day that passed by, my hopes of getting outside declined. Slowly, I believed the world was going into a problematic place, but I still wanted to go out. If it was problematic, then someone needed to stop it!
I decided to wait one day when he had went out again to go out, my Salamance sitting in its ball with a fierce but scared look in its eyes. I put my jacket that I carried with me in my bag, then put my hand on the doorknob.
As soon as I opened the door to the house, I closed my eyes, feeling the cold wind blowing against my face and hands, causing me to shiver a little bit as it hit me. It didn't seem as dangerous as Hugh said it was...?
I started walking forwards into the woods that surrounded the city, it wasn't as cold or dangerous as Hugh said at all! It was beautiful!
Until I was attacked by a Cryogenical, the snowflake looking Pokémon making a loud noise as it used Ice Shard.
"Oh son of a Giratina-!" I yelped out as I narrowly dodged the shards of ice aimed at me. Salamance was still in its ball waiting for me to let him out, but I refused to, "No, I never taught you any fire type moves, and I'm not risking you just for a situation like that to happen again!"
I continued running further and further until suddenly I tripped on a branch, faceplantining in the snow, "Sh-!"
The angered ice type Pokémon made a buzzing noise then charged up an Ice Beam. I closed my eyes, then waited for it to hit me...
"Samurott! Use Aqua Tail!"
The Cryogenical was hit by a Samurott and was knocked far away from where I was.
The trainer who had the Samurott was none other than Hugh himself, "I told you it was dangerous out here!" He scolded me as his Samurott fought with the Ice Type Pokémon and ran towards me, picking me up, then running with me in his arms and returning Samurott soon after.
He was seemed furious, but he held ne tightly when he'd gotten us back to his home, he sat me down into the room that I rested in the time I've been here, then he sat down beside me as I feared he was going to harm me, but instead he stared me straight into the eyes, glaring at me.
"Why did you run?" He asked as I shook under his gaze, "Answer me!"
I started trembling at this point as he gripped onto my shoulders, almost leaving a mark on them, "I-I-I-!"
"You WHAT?" He said almost yelling, "You wanted to get hurt!?"
"N-No! I-I just-!" I stuttered, fear rising in my chest, "I just wanted to see if the world was actually what you said it was like!"
He then huffed, taking one hand, and rubbing his temples. He took a small breath, trying to calm himself, then looking back to me, before taking my Pokémon away from me. "I'll be taking this."
"Huh-? Hey! That's my-!"
"Not anymore." He said as he placed Salamance's ball in his bag, "You didn't do as I said, Little Dragon, so you're not getting him back."
He then put a hand on my face as my breath hitched in my throat, "I'll give him back when you learn to listen when you're warned, but if you don't learn, then, well, you won't be getting your Pokémon back."
He placed a small kiss on my forehead before walking to the doorway. "Now, stay in here until you learn your lesson." He said in an agitated tone as he slammed the door behind him.
I could feel tears fall upon my face, a feeling of fear, hopelessness, and hate mixed for both him and myself.
Him for taking my Salamance and my freedom and hope for the outside world.
... And mine for actually falling in love with someone like him.
... Why did this have to happen?
