Welcome all, to the first contest of the Pokémon Writing League!

Currently everyone is at Normal Rank, but that is soon to change by the end of this month. There will be only three places, no ties, and the rest honorable mentions. We will be judging entries based on quality, originality and structure (located in the Q and A book). Deadline for entries is on midnight of MARCH 31st. There will be no exceptions to this; remember, please PM us the title and the word count of your entry.

I'd also like to just bring up the fact that this contest has taken to the highest level of fairness possible. If you are not satisfied with your results, please do not fret. There is always next time!

So without further due, here are the prompts:

PROMPT 1:

Create an One-Shot describing your/a character's lucky/first Pokémon. (Was it caught? Was it a starter? Why was it special? Etc.)

PROMPT 2: Create an One-Shot that tells an original backstory for a character in the Pokémon game franchise. (It does not matter if it is a villain, a protagonist, Gym leader, trainer or etc. If a character already has a backstory, you may still create an original and different one.)

* One-Shot: 3000 words or less*

One-Shots that were written prior to March 1st cannot be entered.
