Chapter 33: Bond*

"This is so great!" Korrena laughed "I finally have you locked and unable to move! How lucky did I get?!" She held me on her chest while she forced some strong clothe to cover my mouth. I bit against it to remove it, but nothing worked.

"Let go of her!" Xavier shouted, holding his sword up.

"Sorry, pretty boy! But I'm ordered to take this princess back to her little corner where she belongs!" I didn't have the energy to fight back. I was just standing there in her arms like a doll.

"Serena!" Shauna cried. I frowned and looked at Xavier looking as he was ready to jump at her. I raised my hand and waved it, shaking my head, begging him to not do it. He dropped his glare and lowered his sword.

"It'll be too hasty to take you all the way to the League Castle, so I asked a Elite four member to come and pick you up" Korrena smiled. I choked in shock. S-She did what..?

"W-Whee..?" I asked as best as I could with the cloth in my mouth "Pleshhh, Don ot do it" I begged.

"Sorry, but I can't understand you!" She laughed. Kirlia was too afraid to do anything to Korrena while Absol stood in front of my friends so nothing can happen to them. I care about them more than myself at the moment "They should come any moment now"

"Please let her go!" Trevor yelled "She just wants a chance to live! So what if she's a half breed? She has more heart than anyone here! Isn't that enough?"

"I'm afraid I don't know what that means. You can beg as much as you want, but it won't change a thing! She wasn't meant to be alive in the first place! Her existence is not necessary and-" I looked at my hands, thinking of a way to get pass this mess without using too much energy "-I'm not really sure why they kept her alive for this long, but the queen ordered it!" Everyone's eyes widened.

"The queen wanted her alive?" Trevor asked.

"I thought..." Tierno said. Xavier's face became horrid "Didn't you say your mom kept you alive..?"

"Hm?" Korrena giggled "What? Did you not tell your friends who you are?" I glared and turned away.

"It's even more surprising that she turned out to be alive for this long" I froze. Korrena turned her body to face one of the Elite four members walking in with her stylish clothes and heals "For the pass 16 years, you were locked in your room without taking a single supply of blood from your maids. We estimated your death so be sooner after you were released, but here you are. You seem to impress me the more I hear that the leaders were killed left and right. No one else could had done it" she clapped her hands "My dear Princess, are you ready to go home?"

"No" I glared "Imat gon bac!" I drooled out. She snorted and looked at my friends.

"Did you make yourself some friends? Hunters and crafters! I'm even more impressed!"

"Wait... aren't you the Kalos news anchor lady from tv?" Trevor asked "Malva?"

"Oh yes, that's right" she smiled "It's nice to meet some of the princess's friends"

"You keep saying princess... What are you hinting at?" Xavier asked. I gulped and looked down, knowing that I wasn't able to hold my secret for very long.

"Hinting? There's no hinting. You are looking at the royal princess of Kalos, birth by the queen of vampires" I glared at the floor "You kept this from them, princess?" I didn't respond "How sad! You're leaving them all confused and without answers. That's okay, your story is not their business. In the end, if anyone knows who you are, they have to be killed" Her eyes went completely black. I gasped and crashed around Korrenas arms, trying to get out even if I didn't have the ability to.

"Dot toshhh!" I cried. I never even told them... and they're being punished for something she said herself!

"I hope you all had good memories with the princess. It's the last time you'll get to see before I slice your neck and take your blood. Hmmm, I can't wait!" She smiled. My mouth was still able to open and close. I was able to remove myself from the cloth and brought my hands towards my fangs to make myself bleed. The blood dripped fast and I quickly shoved it all into Korrena's mouth. She coughed at first before taking a large gulp and released me with a scream.

She dropped to the floor and held her throat like it was burning. I covered my wound and looked at Malva curiously holding her chin.

"Oh my, what did you do, dear? I was too busy with something else" I looked at what was going on and saw my Absol laying against the wall.

"Absol!" I gasped "You did the same thing that Drasna did! Don't touch my friends! She killed a friend who found out I was the princess because she said it outloud! And she knew she was there! Don't find an excuse to kill my friends who didn't know if it wasn't for your big mouth!"

"You have a mouth on you" Malva laughed "Not sure what you did to that girl, but need I remind you that you have no place to speak to me like that-"

"Shut up!" I glared. She paused and stared at me struggling to stand "You stupid demon! I'll make you regret laying a finger on the ones I care about!" Malva snacked her lips and came over to raise her arm at me with her sharp nails out and strike me. I quickly closed my eyes, but never felt a impact. I reopened them to see Korrena flying towards the floor with white blood splashed from her chest.

"K-Korrena!" I cupped my mouth.

"Oh?" Malva became curious again "You got in the way? I wonder why"

"I won't let you hurt her... it's like her friends said. She has the biggest heart out of everyone" Korrena coughed. I quickly went to hold her head up "I never felt my heart beating this fast before... I won't let you touch her, even if it'll cause me everything"

"W-Why would you do that..?"  She turned to smile at me with white blood leaking from her wounds.

"It's a bit overwhelming, and I wish I could get use to it, but my wounds will not heal with Mistress Malva's slash" she raised her hand. I took it closely and squeezed it "I skated this land with hatred in my heart, but I dreamed to master mega evolution and bond with my Pokémon just like grandpa use to do... We all have dreams, but the demon corrupted our hearts. I was bonded with you for a short moment, but I'm glad I got to express how I really felt" tears rolled down her cheeks "I'm sorry I did this... I'm sorry I couldn't find the good in me before"

"It's okay... it wasn't you, it was those demons" she chuckled, then coughed.

"it'll be wrong of me to ask, but I like a favor"

"What is it..?" She smiled again.

"Release my followers so they can live their dreams..." I bit my lips "and to make sure my Pokémon find good homes. They deserve better than how I treated them" she sniffled "I'm sorry, Princess... this was all my fault" I had no words...

"I see now!" Malva gasped "You removed her bond with me and replaced it with yours! Wow!" She smiled "I'm impressed" Korrena's eyes were getting heavy.

"Stay with me, Korrena..." I gasped, lightly slapping her cheeks.

"You might be human, but your royal blood was still able to do incredible things! I'll be damn" Malva giggled.

"Shauna, come here" Shauna jumped over, passing Malva, and took Korrena in her arms. Even Korrena's Pokémon were near by to help "Help as much as you can... take a sample or whatever. I don't want her dying" I said, getting Kirlia to help me stand again.

"There's no use in saving her" Malva showed me her claws "My skin released some of my blood that absorbed into her system. My blood won't allow herself to heal" She giggled and held her hip "What's the point in doing so anyways? Come on, I don't have time for this now" she quickly grabbed my hair and forcefully made me lose my balance "It's time to go"

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you! I don't want to be locked in that room again! Get off of me!" I hissed, but she wasn't effected by it.

"Yannie!" Xavier called me. I frowned and looked at him "I'm sorry. If I didn't do what I did, you wouldn't have ran away from me. We still would had been relaxing in another city... away from all this"

"Xavier..." I peaked at Malva staring at him.

"Hm? You look a bit familiar. Do I know you?" She asked.

"I'm X of the hunter family in Vaniville town"

"Ah! You're the young fellow with the type X blood!" She gasped amazed "Wow. I'm actually amazed right now"

"Why is that?" I asked, trying to get her to release my hair.

"Because Wikstrom heard of him and planned to snatch him away from his home to serve you. Since his blood is one of a kind, I had wondered if it would've worked for a half breed like you since you refused so many other types" his blood..?

"Xavier..." I gasped "Your blood!" I suddenly remembered what I had in my bag. I took out the long knife he gave me and quickly cut my hair off her hold, leaving it shorter than I expected.

I fell on the floor and looked at Xavier kneeling down to open his arms. My body was driving to get a taste of him again...

"I won't do the same thing I did before... I promise" he frowned "cross my heart and hope to die" my eyes burned and something leaked onto my cheeks. It wasn't tears...

I ignored it and bit my lips "Kirlia!" I yelled out. She nodded and send me flying to wrap my arms around Xavier, immediately letting me explore his neck and bite onto his flesh.

"Oh my..." Malva's voice muffled, probably pinching her nose like the boys who backed away "What a horrible smell..."

"Yannie..." Xavier brushed on my hair "I'm so sorry I betrayed you like that..." I opened my eyes slightly. "If I can take it back, I would" I closed my eyes in his warm arms, took a few swallows of his blood, let go of him to fall into Tierno's arm, and looked at Malva looking at me in disgust.

"Who would've thought you'd actually drink from someone..." she stared into my eyes and looked a bit taken back "You were shedding tears of blood... you looked just like your mother when she was first turned by the Ultimate weapon" I jumped at her and grabbed her arm, not letting her expect it. In a hush voice, I send a prayer as a form of exorcism. She screamed and pushed me into Trevor's body, trampling him.

"What in the..?" Malva stared at her arm burning. I did that..? I didn't know what I was expecting. It was the first thing I thought to do when dealing with a demon "You..." she glared and backed away "Quite curious. You humans seem to impress me everytime, even on the news" she smiled "I'm actually curious to see what else you'll accomplish as the way you are now. From what I can see, you're nothing like the child I met hiding in her room all the time" she chuckled "I'll let it go for now" she walked away "As of now, I will take my leave and look forward to what you will do in the future"

"You're just going to let me go?" I asked. She didn't respond and left the building. I looked at Xavier sitting up and falling asleep on Tierno's chest "Xavier..." he looked up at me and smiled, raising his hand to rub the damp bloody tear on my face.

"You've gotten stronger since I last saw you... I'm happy to see that" He closed his eyes and fell asleep. I smiled and kissed his forehead before turning to Shauna still trying to keep Korrena alive.

"Korrena!" I hurried to her side "Everyone, give her some room!" I moved her Pokémon and her grandpa away from Korrena growing weaker and weaker "Please stay with me" I told her, holding her hands. She smiled at me and held my hands back.

"I've committed a lot of sins during my years as a leader... I was chosen for my strength. I killed many of the students in this place, angry that they got to learn about mega evolution instead of me. It was a jealousy I didn't know I had. I deserve to die for everything that I did. Please let my followers live so that can reach for the dreams they don't know they have. Bonded with a leader will keep them from knowing that they were born for a reason. I wish I got to live out the reason why I was born" she smiled at her Pokémon frowning at her "To embrace my Pokémon and tell them how much they mean to me. I'm so sorry I treated you poorly. Forgive me"

Viola and Grant were in the same situation as Korrena. They had dreams they couldn't express freely. With Viola's talent for photography and Grant's love for sports, I can only imagine the world if the Elite four didn't come from the bottom world and hurt everyone.

I lowered my head and prayed for her sake, releasing the bonded vampires and wish she'd get better. She deserves to live... live the life she didn't get to explore.

"You removed my followers so easily..." Korrena cried "Thank you..."

"Hey, What makes you think I'm going to let you die like this?" I squeezed her hands "You're going to live, understand? That's an order" She held her chest slowly beginning to heal and she sobbed hard, painfully "The demon is gone from your veins. You'll heal quickly and you're going to live, okay?" She held her mouth and nodded.

While she was asleep for her recovery, I was taken to the side in one of the rooms of the tower to talk to my friends as Xavier was sleeping on a bed "I don't know what to make of this" Trevor said "Instead of punishing a vampire for their violence, we allowed them to continue living"

"Demon blood is the root of their evil. My blood was able to remove their bond with the Elite four and become part of me. I am responsible for what happened, so I'll take the blame"

"We also learned that the Duplicate with Korrena was just a simple man who just taught students, but were killed by Korrena's jealousy. Bonded or not, this won't look good" Shauna frowned.

"She is no longer a leader since she's no longer bonded with a demon. Like I said before, I'll take responsibility. Since she's bonded with me now, her heart is fuller"

"You bonded with someone before, Serena?" Tierno asked. I peaked at Shauna and looked back at them, telling them about the hair dresser that found me in Lumiose City and accidentally bonded with me.

"You should bond with more vampires then" Trevor chuckled "Well, it's not up to us to make this decision. The headmaster agreed to let a half breed in our group. He'll understand better than we can"

"I'm sorry, am I bothering you?" I frowned. He flinched, turning a bright red, and waved his arms.

"N-no! That's not what I meant! I'm just saying that-" I smiled.

"It's okay. I get it. From now on, if Xavier keeps his promise, I would like to keep exploring the region and meeting new leaders for the sake of bonding with them, not killing them. I was lucky that Malva let me go, so I'll take advantage of this opportunity and remove anything that has to do with those demons"

"What was up with her anyways?" Shauna asked, annoyed "Putting her hands on you like that!" I played with my hair reaching my shoulders and smiled a bit.

"You felt how powerful she was, didn't you?" She frowned at me "My mom is the most powerful being in this world, yet she is out numbered by the Elite four. If her scale was 100, they would be about 80 and multiplied by 4. She may be the strongest, but she can't beat them. She has no choice but to do what they say, especially when it comes to my own safety"

"I just can't believe you're actually a princess" Tierno said. Absol growled, getting my attention by the bed. I looked over to see Xavier awake and looking at me.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked. I frowned and looked down.

"I was one of your target. You told me yourself that you aimed to kill the council, the Elite four, and the royal head of vampires. How could I tell you?" I looked back at my friends "besides. It was crucial that you didn't know my identity since those demons will kill anyone who knows. Augustine knew from the moment he saw me"

"From the start?!" Shauna gasped.

"Is it that surprising?" I chuckled "He knew my mom because she married my dad in secret. The king of kalos" Xavier quickly sat up, but ended up falling back on his pillow.

"Careful!" Shauna glared.

"You're... King Danny's daughter?" He gasped. I slowly nodded "you said he was killed by the Elite four because you were discovered... my dad wondered for years on what happened to him! He wanted to defeat the council to get to the league castle faster to get answers!" He looked crushed "My dad died before ever knowing what happened..." I went over to sit on the bed with him.

"I was 2 when he was killed, which means you were most likely 4 years old. He and my mom had me in secret. It's impossible for a vampire to mate with a human because of the amount of chromosomes, but my mom was different. She was born a human, and transformed into the very first vampire to exist during the Kalos war. My existence wasn't planned, but I was loved by them both and protected by them until the very end. Dad lost his life, and mom worked hard for my life. I now know that me being part of both species has its advantages. Vampires can't perform exorcism, but humans can. I just found that I can do something about this mess" I held my chest "I got a leader to bond with me! That's gotta mean something! I don't care if I should be punished for letting a murder live. I finally got to see the reason why I'm still here!"

"Are you saying instead of killing all the vampires, you want to bond with as many as you can?" Xavier asked "That sounds like an amazing idea. They will develop your personality and won't kill anyone anymore"

"We'll be out of the job" Trevor held his chin "but if it's for the sake of humanity, I don't mind retiring early" he laughed. I smiled and looked at Shauna holding in something.

"What is it, Shauna?" I asked. She shut her eyes.

"I'm... I'm willing to support you in every way possible! Since we're on this subject, I... I would also like to say that bonding with Serena has been the best decision I ever made!"

"Bonding?" Trevor blinked. She started shaking a bit.

"I'm also... a vampire" Tierno and Trevor looked shocked while Xavier and I smiled at each other. This will be good for us... a better future instead of creating chaos. I can't start with Korrena since I released the bond in fear that she might not make it, but I have high hopes that I can overcome the rest of the vampires and save my mom from the Elite four's force. I may be punished with Xavier, but as long as I can make a difference, I don't care how much I have to suffer.
