"It's okay, Ralts. The light will show us the way" I told my Pokémon when we arrived to the entrance of the cave. There seemed to be no one around, unlike what I expected. It was too quiet and there were blood droplets either going in or out the cave.

"It's vampire blood" I stated "I feel some in this cave"

"Looks like our little honeymoon will have to wait" Xavier joked. I blushed and looked back at the Absol that lead us here.

"What do you think of that Pokémon, Xavier?" He looked at the Pokémon staring at me.

"It must like you, since it's been staring at you like a log the whole time" I don't understand what he means by a log "Maybe you should catch it"

"W-What? Am I able to?! I haven't trained Ralts as much!" He chuckled.

"That's okay. Psychic type Pokémon can't battle against dark types, so you wouldn't be able to fight it anyways. I can help, but for now, we need to take care of what's going on in here" I nodded and turned to the Absol after Xavier entered the cave a little.

"Thank you for bringing us here" I bowed and followed Xavier towards the beautiful cave with beautiful green glowing crystals in the ground and walls "Look Ralts! Isn't it beautiful?" I touched as many crystals as I could "We're not allowed to take any, aren't we?" I asked Xavier sending a message through his holocaster.

"No, but they do have a gift shop back in the rental climb shop. We can go back later after this" he took my hand "stay close. I don't want anything happening to you" I nodded and stayed close to his arm, feeling on his warm aura more than I could focus on the beauty of the crystals.

"Hm?" Xavier looked at my head where Ralts was. There was a hint of light coming from up there. What is it? He just chuckled and continued straight before we found a sign pointing at a spot where paleontologist are digging up fossils.

"That's a big word" I looked into the entrance "I feel the presence in this direction" Xavier nodded and hid me behind him while taking out his sword. We entered the opening and saw digging equipment and lights lighting up the ceilings. There was someone talking on the phone while wearing all red. His scent was odd... but I knew for sure he was a vampire.

Xavier cleared his throat to get the guy's attention. He turned to us and gave us a look of disgust with his red eyes exposed for us to know he's a vampire "Oh? What do we have here?" I suddenly got chills. Something about this person made me feel like uneasy.

"Hi" Xavier greeted blankly. I stayed behind him, feeling more safe behind him. Something in me just really wanted to stay away from this negativity I'm feeling. It's far more different than what I feel when I'm around normal vampires. Why is this stranger different?

The stranger chuckled and approached us with a sly smirk on his face "Oh, I see. We have some nosy little trainers poking around"

"Who are you..?" I asked, holding my strong voice cautiously "Speak up!"

"Ah, a fisty one, are we?" He laughed and shrugged "why does it matter to you? You're the one that came here. I'm not saying a thing" I flinched. He didn't listen..? He didn't even look scared at my demand.

"You think we would come and ask who you were if you weren't inside this cave meant for scientist?" Xavier asked.

"You're one to talk" I bit my lips and stood between them to face the stranger who was boiling my blood very slowly.

"I asked you to speak up! Why won't you listen?!" I glared.

"Why would I? Say, if you don't want to get hurt, I suggest you leave" Xavier raised his sword.

"You make one false move and I'm not afraid to stick this blade into that smart mouth of yours" whenever he has to interact with a vampire, I notice that his eyes go as cold as ice. It was enough to send shivers down my spin, but my blood was hot now.

"Just because I'm a vampire?" The stranger crossed his arms "I guess it's a Hunters job to attack vampires who attack humans, but what did I do?" Xavier scoffed "Either way, I won't give you the chance. I'm not going to do anything. I'll only do something if you dare to interfere with us" I snapped and grabbed his neck.

"Yannie!" Xavier yelled at me.

"Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?" I hissed at his face.

"Whoa, a hunter attacking a vampire that hasn't done anything? Isn't that against your law?" Why isn't he cowering!? "But wait, you're a vampire on your own. Well, from those tiny fangs, I can tell that much" I closed my mouth at his teasing "You'll be doing a crime to attack a vampire who didn't do anything, so if you would be so kindly as to take your little hands off of me-" he choked when I squeezed it tighter, making him go into a full and confused panic, and unable to get me off him.

"I could care less about the law. I don't care what happens to my career or if I get in trouble for disobeying the rules. I'm being quite generous right now. State your name or I won't be afraid to kill you right here, right now" he glared and grabbed my wrist as I loosen my grip a bit, only enough to let him talk "Talk... NOW!" I hissed again. He snorted and turned his head away a bit.

"Fine. We're the fashionable team whose very name makes people tremble in fear: Team Flare!" What is he blabbering about? "Team Flare's goal is to make it so we're the ones who are happy!"

"Pardon?" Xavier glared "Only you and your team?"

"Exactly. We don't care one bit about what happens to other people or even Pokémon" the stranger shrugged his arms "not that they matter anyways. They are below the food chain as it is- agh!" I squeezed his neck again.

"Yannie! Stop!" Xavier tried pulling me away, but I wouldn't budge. I wanted to teach this vampire a lesson about disrespecting me like this...

"I'll kill you..." I bit my lips "I'll kill you and bring you back to life... then I'll kill you again! And again! And again!" I threw him on the ground hard and aimed to jump him, but Xavier pulled me back "Let me go!" My personality completely took a full turn.

The vampire side of me who held so much anger in her heart was reaching out and wanting to seek revenge on those who wronged her. The girl I met before in my dreams, the one who told me I had to accept my race if I wanted my human side to live on. She controlled me, and I couldn't stop myself from this attack.

"You may have your mothers pure blooded heart, but a human heart can corrupt even the more purest people" my own voice spoke out. My human heart was speaking out "Any negative impact a human goes through can change personalities very quickly without warning. It changes faster than a insane vampire. This human nature had mixed with your vampirism and it is why she has full control over the emotions your holding within. If you don't stop yourself and control your own emotions, you will not be able to stop" I got some control of my body and stopped fighting Xavier, but my anger was still there.

"Mental health is a serious thing and it can make the vampire side of you go as wild as any other vampire. You may not hurt a human, but think about what you're doing. Mom wouldn't want you to live like this" mom... the purest person I know... The woman who was forced to hurt so many people. She would be disappointed to see me like this. She would blame herself that she made me like this... She gave me a human heart who is sensitive to emotions, and a vampire heart who takes things to the extreme. She would blame herself... I have to control my emotions, but it's so hard...

I collapsed on my knees and held my face, ashamed of what I couldn't control "Yannie..." Xavier hugged me from behind. The stranger was coughing on the floor. I looked at him glaring at me before standing up and take out a Pokéball .

"I don't want to get my outfit dirty. So, since you stopped yourself from killing me, I'll be nice enough to not hurt you, but challenge you to a battle instead"

Xavier took me to sit against the wall while he took out his own Pokémon to fight. I stared at them blankly before looking at Ralts teleporting to me with glowing horns.

"My emotions overpowered my vampire senses... I don't have enough royal blood to keep me pure like my mom" I looked down "another reason why I'm a disgrace..." Ralts hugged my leg and rested her head on it. I pet her head and smiled "I'll try my hardest... I can't let you see me like this all the time. It'll make sure both of us remain growing" I looked at Xavier battling the strange vampire who disobeyed my orders and got defeated. Xavier is so strong...

"You're pretty tough for a human, kid" the guy told Xavier "but watch yourself! I'm not the only member of Team Flare!" He ran passed Xavier to exit the cave at the same time his suspicious eyes were looking at me just calming down against the wall. Team Flare... If they're a organization filled with vampires like him, what can I do..?

"Yannie" Xavier ran up to me "Are you alright now?"

"Yes. I'm sorry I worried you like that. I didn't know what came over me" I held my heart "He didn't obey to my command... I got frustrated"

"That's weird. Usually a vampire would cower at your voice" he held his chin "I guess your hypnoses didn't work this time" yeah, it's definitely hypnoses, not royal blood. Haha... "that guy was kinda weird. He didn't bother hiding his eyes and didn't even try to attack. I don't want to believe it was because he wanted to protect those ugly clothes, but he battled me instead. What do you think?"

"What I know for sure, his presence was definitely different than any vampire I ever felt. I still feel them around here" he nodded and looked around.

"The scientist the fossil lab told us about should be here, so we need to make sure he's safe from these weird vampires in ugly suits" I nodded and followed him through the cave, where we ran into more vampires in strange clothing wanting to battle instead of fight. Even when they lost, they didn't get angry like normal vampires would. They get upset, but just flee.

"Normally I would have to ready myself after I defeat a vampire. Their pride is too great for them to lose so they would attack" Xavier said "Yet these guys just flee. I don't get it. I guess they are different like you said" I nodded and looked up to see two of the strange people talking together before noticing us.

"I wondered what the racket was earlier" the girl said, exposing her red eyes just like the ones behind us.

"I'll ask you like I asked the others. What are you bunch doing here?" Xavier asked. The two of them stared at him before noticing me watching from behind him. The girl blinked a few times before shaking her head and looked back at Xavier.

"That's none of your business" the guy said.

"He asked you a question. Answer it" I said calmly, not wanting to snap again and hoping my royal spell will work this time. The girl rubbed her eyes and sighed, looking a bit troubled.

"If you must know, we were looking for fossils to sell" she answered! But is it because of me or something else?

"Hey! You weren't suppose to tell them that!" The guy said. Xavier nodded at me and send out his Pokémon.

"Well, we can't have you causing trouble here. Have you hurt anyone while you were here?" He asked.

"No" the girl said, honestly.

"W-What's wrong with you?!" The guy glared and send out his own Pokémon. She did the same, but not as aggressively.

"Two against one..?" I frowned.

"Battle with me" Xavier said. H-Huh?! "This is your chance to have a real battle. You've trained a lot so far! This is your chance to show off what you learned and become even more stronger!" I looked at Ralts hiding behind my leg. Xavier has been helping me train ever since I received Ralts. For the most part, she's just been scared to try anything, but she's been getting better at participating. Will she want to do anything now? Against other people?

"I guess I can give it a try..." I looked at Ralts "Let's battle" Ralts flinched and hid more behind my leg "Ralts, please" I faced the group and their Pokémon "Use something! Like Confusion!" Ralts did exactly as I did and lifted their Croagunk and threw it against the wall. I cupped my mouth surprised.

"Hey!" The guy glared at me. The girl looked like she was in a trance of some sorts, not really paying attention to anything. Because she was like this, the battle was done very easily and faster than expected.

"You win this time, but it won't be so easy next time!" The guy glared before taking the girl's hand and ran off. The girl and I looked at each other the entire time before they disappeared into the corner. So strange... I wonder what was going on in her head.

"I hope that's the last of them" Xavier said and walked forward. I picked up Ralts to hug closely.

"You did really well. Thank you for battling with me" she blushed and nodded. I quickly went to follow Xavier and saw him walking up to a man in a lab suit just noticing him.

"Hello sir, My name is X and this is my teammate, Y. We are from the Hunter corporation. We came to see if you were hurt in any way. There were a few vampires roaming here" Xavier said.

"What strange names you have..." I sweat dropped at the comment. It's our work names, not our real name. It would be wise to take in the fact that we are from a organization where we protect people from vampires, but I guess he was focused more on fossils  "I just been looking for fossils" I knew it.

"Alright, don't worry about it then" Xavier looked at me "looks like he was completely absorbed in looking for fossils. Those Team Flare guys weren't here to hurt anyone. They just came to collect what they needed" I nodded.

"That girl had a strong scent on her. She must've been wounded. She was acting a bit funny. Don't you think?" He shrugged and looked at the scientist picking up a rock to show us.

"Since you're here to make sure I was safe, I like to thank you with this" I observed it, confused "It's a fossil that I already have. I'll be glad to give it to you" I gasped and looked at Xavier.

"It's a Fossil! He's giving it to us! Can we have it? Or... you should have it!"

"Huh? Why me?"

"You did all the work, after all" I looked away "I couldn't do a thing... you should keep the fossil" I forced a smile back on him "I want to see it revive! Come on!" He stared at me for a moment before chuckling.

"Alright" he bowed to the scientist and took the fossil "thank you"

"This is a jaw fossil. The scientist in the lab will be able to restore it for you. I'll be here collecting more if I can find anything. I'll be fine. Thanks to you" the man said. we nodded and turned away to leave the cave, seeing that it was quite windy outside.

"It'll be dangerous to leave the mountain like this" Xavier said, covering me from the direction of the wind. I looked around and spotted the Absol from standing by a pile of rocks, staring at me.

"Look" I pointed, coming close to the Rhyhorn waiting for us "It's still here. Why are you still here?" Ralts telepathically noted to me of why it was here "Am I really able to handle another Pokémon..? I can't even handle myself" Xavier chuckled and held my shoulders.

"Normally, Pokémon don't approach others like this, especially a Pokémon like Absol. It can help you out with sensing dangers. When I'm not around, I would want a Pokémon like this to protect you" I frowned at him, feeling like he meant something weird by stating that.

I looked back at the Absol still staring at me while taking out a Pokéball I had in my bag "Why wouldn't Xavier be around...?" I asked myself in my head. I leaned on my knees and offered my hand first "If you come with me, I'll be able to keep people safe. You'll be a big help. Would you like to come with me?" It jumped off the rocks and came up to my hand to sniff. I smiled and pointed the ball to its head, opening the ball and take it inside for a slow capture. I kneeled and stared at the ball...

I am very excited to get myself a new Pokémon, but at what cause? I feel like this Absol knew it had to be by my side, like it needed to show me the dangers that will come soon. I looked at Xavier smiling at me. Dangers that would come soon... I have a bad feeling in my gut that he's going to do something I'm not going to like...
