Chapter 7: The Pokemon Egg

Chapter 7

The Pokemon Egg

-Bree-

I walked out of the stadium after battle club. I was going towards the infirmary to heal Vulpix. It's practically just a glorified Pokemon Center that also treats students. I heard a sharp voice coming from the alley way between the school and the infirmary. I hid behind the wall and peeked into the alley way. It was Mr. Curt. He was talking on his phone.

"Just wait okay? I'll get back to you once I'm ready." He turned off his cellphone and jammed it in his pocket. He started to walk in my direction. I ducked my head behind the wall. I pretended like I didn't hear anything and walked towards the medical center entrance. But, Mr. Curt stopped me.

"How was your first day at battle club?" He asked.

"Good. I feel like I got some good practice in," I said trying to sound normal.

"I couldn't be there because of some school work I had to sort out. I will See you at class," he walked at an abnormally fast pace in the other direction.

The automatic sliding doors opened for me enter. A nurse was typing on computer behind a large desk with a red top. Two vases of flowers were on the desk. One on the right and one the left.

"Excuse me, can you heal my pokemon?" I asked, rubbing my thumb on Vulpix's Pokeball.

"Of course. Just give me a few seconds," the nurse replied.

I handed over my Pokeball and she placed it in a machine. She pressed a few buttons and the machine beeped and flashed lights. In about a minute, the nurse took out my Pokeball and gave it to me. I walked out of building and went to my dorm room. Abbie was on her bed reading a magazine and her Chikorita was at the foot of her bed sleeping.

"Hey," I said through yawn. I flopped on my bed and sighed.

"Where were you?" She asked, putting her magazine down.

"Battle club."

"Oh, cool. Didn't know you signed up."

"I didn't." I said, rolling off my bed. Abbie adjusted her glasses and gave me a puzzled look.

"I'm going to change into my pajamas," she said. She dug through our shared dresser and pulled out a pair of lime green pajamas. She walked towards our bathroom and shut the door behind her.

"Listen up, class!" Ms. Thompson, the caring for Pokemon teacher (finally caught her name), said. "This is by far my most favorite part of my class. I will by giving each student a Pokemon egg to take care of. After they have hatched, we will give them to the Pokemon day care here at our school, so that new students, who don't have Pokemon, may chose one of them."

Everyone whispered excitedly as she passed out eggs from a cart. All of them were in glass dome incubator. I wonder what mine will be? She handed me a vanilla colored egg. I carefully held close to me. I thought I could hear something within the egg.

The rest of the class Ms. Thompson stressed how important it was to keep them in the incubator tubes. After class, I showed Vulpix the egg. She looked it over and wrapped her tail around it.

"You want to help me take care of it?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Great!"

I carefully placed the egg in my bag. Vulpix jumped in as well. Like before, she held the egg close with her tail to keep it from harm. It was really sweet. It wasn't evening her own egg, yet she wanted to take care of it. That's my Vulpix for you. I smiled and went on to the next class.

"Professor Ryker?"

"Yes?" He looked up from his paper work. The classroom was empty and all the students had left.

"I have something to tell you."

He leaned back in his chair and brushed a strand of black hair out of his eyes.

"Ask away."

"Well this is kind of a long shot, but I might know where one of the orbs are."

Professor Ryker looked astonished. He got up from his chair and closed the door.

"Please, continue."

"I had this dream before I came to this school. I was underwater in an ocean or some body of water. I went inside a cave and an orb was buried in the sand. There was also a giant Gyrados who ate me, but that's not important. This could all be a stupid dream, but I think it means something."

The teacher paused. He sat back down in his chair.

"Thank you, Bree. I'll look into it."

I left the room and walked down the halls. I was going to be late for Battle class. I don't care. All I could think of is how I might be right about the location of an orb or how wrong I am.

Author note: wow, Bree cannot stop sneaking up on people >:D. This is probably my longest chapter so far. Or at least my fingers feel like its the longest. If you saw something wrong please comment. I'm not a professional writer, I'm still learning. Also, comment on what you think the egg should hatch into. See ya later.
