Chapter 3

The Battle Against Buneary

After lunch, was battling class. Battling class was held in the battle stadium I saw early this morning. Abbie and I entered the stadium and saw kids socializing. The teacher definitely wasn't here. A loud whistle screeched. We all stood at attention to a man with slick black hair and and a black track suit. Beside him was a Nidoking.

"Now," the man explained, "you are probably wondering were you old teacher, Mr. Morris is. He is going to be absent for awhile and I am going to teach you. You will notify me as Mr. Curt. Now lets start off with some good old fashion battling."

He walked around examined us. His Nidoking stood heavily breathing and giving the first years an intimidating look. He finally stopped at me.

"You," he pointed at me, "will go up against her." He pointed towards Tracey.

As if on cue whispers spread like a wild fire. Both of us walked to the center of the stadium. Outlines of the battle arena was marked with chalk. A white Pokeball outline was in the middle.

"This is going to be a one-on-one battle with no time limit or items," Mr. Curt announced, "Begin!"

I threw Vulpix's Pokeball into the air. The red and white sphere opened and out came Vulpix, ready for battle. Tracey sent out a Buneary. The rabbit pokemon had two bundles of fur, one on each year and its lower body was a covered on the same vanilla fur.

"Vulpix use flamethrower," I said. Vulpix shot a long stream of fire towards Buneary. It made contact and Buneary was knocked down.

"Buneary use dig!" Tracey commanded. Buneary burrowed its way down underground. Buneary rose from the ground and ram into Vulpix. Vulpix skid to a halt.

"Vulpix use Flame Burst!" I yelled, frustrated that Tracey got a good hit on Vulpix.

Vulpix shot a swift blast of fire that raced towards Buneary. I smirked, this was a sure hit. Buneary curled up into a ball and a blue shield surrounded it. Vulpix's Flame Burst hit the shield and the blast was absorbed!

Tracey laughed, "You really thought I was going to be that easy! Try landing a hit on my Buneary now, it's way faster and smarter than your Vulpix."

She was right. Each time I would attack she would use protect. I wouldn't be able to land a hit. I had to think of something.

"Buneary use Jump Kick," said Tracey.

Buneary jumped in the air and swung back one of its hind legs and struck Vulpix in the face.

"Vulpix use Faint Attack," I commanded.

Vulpix swiftly moved towards Buneary ready to make contact but Buneary used protection again! Vulpix bounced off of the blue wall of protection.

"Follow up with Dig, Buneary." Tracey commanded, sure of her victory.

Once again Buneary dug into the ground and headed towards Vulpix. That's when it hit me, I knew who to beat Tracey. I waited until Buneary was about to attack. Buneary rose from the ground.

"Vulpix jump in the air!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Vulpix did as I said and leaped into the air.

"Now use Flame Burst," I said.

Vulpix launched a fire ball right at Buneary. Buneary scurried into its hole but the Fire blast followed her. The tunnel Buneary dug blew up and smoked filled the battle field. Buneary flew out the battle field and into the stands. I ran up to Vulpix and hugged her. I took out her pokeball and returned her.

Suddenly, a familiar face ran onto the field. It was Cress.

"Holy crap, you killed Tracey's Buneary! You are so hard core!"

Abbie ran up to me as well and congratulated me. The teacher, Mr. Curt clapped his hands and complimented me. Tracey stormed out of the stadium as we left for the next class. She was obviously angry at her loss.

Abbie and I sat down next to each other in History and Lore class. Abbie told me the teacher was Professor Ryker. The same teacher Preston, Jase, and Cress talked about! What did this Professor know?

Professor Ryker stood in front of class. A shiny Umbreon was at his feet. Professor Ryker looked very young to be a professor. Maybe it was just how he liked to be addressed and he was just teacher and not a professor.

"The last few days we have discussed about the three legendary birds of Kanto. Today we will talk about Mew. It is said that he is tied to all living things," Professor Ryker said.

He went on about the history Mew. It was very interesting, he also mentioned that a group of people tried to clone Mew. He never said if they were successful. We finished class and they day went on. After school, I went to the dorms. The lady in charge gave me a piece of paper with the number of my dorm room. 312 was the number. I made my way down the hall to 312. I opened the door and saw Abbie sitting on one of the two beds. She smiled and motioned for me to come in. I threw my bag on my bed and began talking with my new friend.

Whooooo I am back in business. I realized I didn't have much action in my chapters so I added this battle to the chapter. I hoped you liked it and I will start publishing again.
