Tester's Luck 3
Author's note: So if you look to the drawing on top, yes I do draw as well, but not on a really good way, but I'm improving. (for all you computer users- to see the test and make it larger, visit my Da account- Darkness-Blaze, or check on my home page for lin)
W-what happened...
I hear particularly nothing, other than the faint sounds of beeping, an air conditioner running, and the soft breathing of someone very close by. Opening my eyes, in a room filled with drawings of a forest, river, trees, some Pokemon - nice and serenic. Noticing the little weight on my body, I move eyes down, only to notice an Absol lying on top of me. Giving me the energy for my body to let it move again. Making the Absol yelp in surprise in the process.
"Allison? What are you doing here? Wait... where am I?"
Still on top of me, she just growls at me, before relaxing, "Oh, s-sorry Jackie... though you feeling normal?" she queries, looking away from me as if nothing happened (also probably to hide her blush).
"Yeah... though what happened? All I remember is being knocked into the sand one moment and next thing I know it, I'm up and then back on the ground."
"W-well there is something that Alicia wanted to keep away from you... You remember about being in that lab, right?"
"Yeah, the one where you guys found me?"
"Also that it's a Plasma lab?"
"Yes, just get to the point."
"Well after the fall of Plasma due to their 'king' leaving the group, the other leader Ghetsis made plans of a last stand. Surgically inserting these chips or something into Pokemon. When triggered, it would make the Pokemon go in a frenzy, but based from experience, they only attacked other Pokemon, wild or not... Which you do have the same thing, but one, we can't find the chip on you, and yours is more dangerous... attacking humans."
"Wait, Caitlyn and Peter are fine, right?"
"Yeah, they are though you scratched on Caitlyn's cheek, that already have been told it'll be a scar."
"So I'm guessing that you came here with Jacob or Alicia to go back to Twinleaf or some IPB base?"
"No, not really due to the fact that you belong to Caitlyn, and we are not entirely sure what triggers your chip. And just so you know, it's just Jacob."
"I'm guessing you guys will be tagging along?"
"Pretty much. The only reason why Alicia didn't bother checking you when you were with us, was because you showed no symptom that most of the chipped Pokemon had when it doesn't trigger. Making you a bit more than special."
"Uh-huh, though you know if I'm capable of walking yet? I'm hungry. Also, where are my stuff?"
"Well, you can, but I suggest staying here, they set up security at the door as a just in case. And your glasses are with Jacob, and the rest is with Caitlyn. So you're stuck in here with me until someone notices you are awake," she giggles, then hesitantly moving closer to my face, then licking me; a Pokemon's equivalent of a kiss.
Then she backs up with a bigger blush on her face, and lowers her head back down to the bed, "I forgot to say thank you for what you did before..." she mutters, but loud enough for me.
"So... when can we be let out? Can't you scratch at the door or something?"
"Well I guess, but you might be shocked or something."
"Yeah, and I'm already bored of just sitting here, just get someone's, would you?"
"Fine, lucky enough I'm good friends with the Manectric."
"I'm fine with that more, since of the Luxray that I came with she hates me, and I hate her."
"Well you want something to eat, or just chat about your problems all day?"
"And when did you become so talkative?"
"Oh shut up," she scoffs and gets off the bed, walks over to the door, knocking the metal door.
When the door opens, a Manectric bolts in, right past Allison, and facing my direction, "Are you okay?"
"No, just calm down, he's fine, just hungry."
"Okay, I'll go and get the kid."
"He's not a kid, you know."
"Well he doesn't have enough experience."
"You know what also happened to his uncle, you know how hard Alicia took it as well?"
"Yes, I was there when it happened," he sighs, "Fine, I'll go and get Jacob then."
"Thank you, Perun."
With him gone, the door shuts with a soft clink of a lock, and I speak up, "So, still taking hard about your trainer?"
"Yes, and no... Jacob started his own adventure, and it's been great so far, though the lack of anything fun going on, besides this of course."
"Hey," I try to get off the bed, my legs still being sore, but managing to make it to her, and kneel down to her height, "At least you know that he down fighting, right?"
"Yeah, that's true..."
"If we can, let's go out later tonight, see if we can find some quiet place?"
"In Nimbasa? Sure, though we're going to have to find somewhere really quiet then."
"Huh, all the way in Nimbasa... at least I didn't have to stay long in that desert."
"We can send you back there you know, heard that you made some new friends."
"Oh they weren't friends, and how long does it take for a Manectric to get a single person?"
As soon as I finish, the door opens, revealing the Manectric and Jacob with him.
"So, how's it been, Jackie?" he tosses my glasses to me.
"Good, but not as good ever since I got captured by Caitlyn," I protest while putting my glasses back on.
"Ha, I can see that, though she isn't too bad of a person, you know. Still worried about you even though you were in your crazed state, you nearly cut her entire face, just scratched her on her right cheek."
"And why didn't you guys bother to tell me I possessed such a thing?"
"Well some activated on mention, but yours is completely different. We're still figuring out what triggers it though."
"So I'm guessing you'll be following around for a little? "
"Yup, otherwise you're going to be followed by IPB agents."
"Still surprised that you're the youngest agent to work. "
"Well I'm not the youngest to join, my uncle was. Even though he didn't get proper training."
"Right, though can we get something to eat, I'm hungry."
"Sure, you seem fine enough to be walking on your own."
Following him, the Manectric waits behind until I walk out the room, following suit. Not really bothering me, we continue on, through the corridor before entering the main room of the center. Populated with a good amount of other trainers, and their Pokemon, though no sight of Caitlyn or any of the others. Continuing on to the cafeteria, I see that some of the people -adults- start to follow us, in a near cohesive manner, but wearing common clothing. With them, some of the standard Pokemon in IPB; an Arcanine, Mightyena, and surprisingly a Vaporeon.
"So, how long do you expect to be staying? And, where is Caitlyn and the others?"
"Them? Well until we're clear about your status right now. As for your new friends, they're waiting for us."
"Right..."
"If you were wondering, they're fine, after we told them about you of course."
"Yeah, thanks for that."
"No problem, they're at the furthest corner."
"You're not going to come with?"
"No, I'll join you later though, need to make a call. Though you'll have Allison."
Before saying anything else, he runs off to who knows where. Continuing on through the cafeteria, the agents still following, Caitlyn appears out of nowhere, nearly in tears.
"Jackie! Are you alright?" she comes right at me and into a hug, leaving me not sure what exactly to do.
"Y-yeah I'm fine, " I hesitantly hug her back.
"Well that's great to hear! Come on, they told us you were hungry," she looks up, and I see the scar that I left: on her right cheek, just three simple streaks.
Dragging me with her, I look behind me, the officers dispersing into the crowd; blending in but still keeping an eye on me.
"Hey Jackie, sleep well?"
"Yeah, I did, how about you, Peter?" I look to him, but I could see it in his eyes, he was more or less scared.
"Good. Here's your breakfast. Also for you," he lowers another bowl for Allison, who went quiet when coming here.
"Guess the others are mad of me? "
"Not really, some of them are actually scared of you..."
"That figures, guess I was that scary then?"
"Well yes and no..."
"Just to fast to actually act she means. Only made her surprised when you went for her... though you have any reconciliation of attacking?"
"No, only thing I remember is being knocked onto the ground, then standing up before collapsing into the ground."
"Well, let's put that to the past, for now. Anyways, Jacob his name was, right? He seems like a good trainer, why did you leave him?"
"I did it because I really didn't want to stay in a house for so long...."
"So he's going to be a following us for a little?"
"I don't know exactly, but from the looks of it, he is. Though he isn't bad at all, he's quite enjoyable to be around."
"He did seem like that, I agree."
"He reminds me of someone, but I don't know who though."
"Now that you mention that, he does look familiar, Caitlyn."
"Allison!" someone calls out from behind us.
Turning around, I see a Riolu running up to us with a small package in his hands. Stopping next to Allison, he pants while holding up the package. As I grab it from his hands, I read what the tag on the package reads; For Caitlyn.
"It's for you, Caitlyn"
Giving the box to her, I look back down to the Riolu, as he hides quietly behind Allison, looking a little worried at me. Which also brings the attention of Allison.
"Martin, it's fine, he's a good friend."
"B-but h...his aura..." he mutters before running off.
"So, a new friend, huh. Is he like that?"
"No, he's been a bit talkative ever since he got used to us - which is about a day or two."
"So... about the bow, looks nice on you," I look to the small pink and yellow bow on her head.
"Thanks, you're actually the only one other than my trainer that likes it there..."
"Well you're welcome," I pet her head.
Finishing breakfast we patiently wait for Jacob to come back. While we wait, Allison and I talk about where to go later, and for Arceus knows why, Caitlyn trying to figure out what our conversation is about.
"Sorry that took long, you have a good breakfast?"
"Yeah."
"I already filled out the papers for you, Caitlyn, so you two are free to go now. Of course you guys wouldn't mind with me around for are little, right?"
"Sure, I was thinking about ditching Caitlyn though..."
"Hey!" she shoves him lightly.
"Haha, well any plans where to go today?"
"I was originally going to the gym first, but after what happened, the battle subway sounds nice. Something not as challenging, just to have an easy time for today."
"Ah, well if you plan to use Jackie in the battle, I suggest you give him a day or two. Just to be on the safe side. Though you sure you can handle the condition that Jackie is in, Caitlyn?"
"Yeah, it should be fine, would be nice on what triggers the device or whatever."
"Alright, so we ready to go? And you wouldn't mind if you join me in doubles? Caitlyn is a little terrible when it comes to battles."
"I'm not that bad, Peter!"
"Sure, been a little since we had anything fun to do when we arrived."
"So I'm guessing that I'll be on the sidelines watching?"
"Yup, unless you feel better than what the doctors say you are right now, it'll be fine for you to battle," Jacob answers.
"Right.
"Oh, and did Martin come by?"
"Yeah, he gave me this," Caitlyn raises the box.
"Okay, that is from what I'm guessing is your mom. You do live in Nuvema? Right?"
"Yeah, that was most likely my mom, I'll just open this later," she tucks it into her bag.
"You guys meet me in the front, I need to go and get Julia, and I'm guessing Martin is with her. Allison, go with them, okay?"
With the acknowledgement from her, he runs off, while we too get up and head to the entrance. Whereas the agents also follow us behind, but not too close.
"Here Jackie, I almost forgot to give you this," she hands me my scarf, which is still in good condition, my knapsack, and my quick claw necklace.
"Thanks,"
Wrapping around the scarf back on my neck and tucking the claw under it, we wait in silence, waiting for Jacob as other people walk past us, not giving any particular attention to us - other than the agents taking glances at us here and there. With a few more minutes going by, we finally see Jacob coming down to us, Julia behind him, and Martin in his arms, looking terrified. While, all three agents and their Pokemon take their leave.
"Hey Julia," I greet as she nears us.
"Nice to see you again too, Jackie."
"So anything other than this happen when you got here?"
"Not really, other than saying a hello to the Nacrene city gym leader, and Jacob learning more about the lore and history of Unova."
"Sounds nice."
"Ehh, was a little boring, while as someone here had a good time napping."
"We had nothing to do until she came to us, so I took that time to sleep."
"Uh-huh-"
Before Julia could say anymore, we hear two popping noises, and two simultaneous soft thuds.
"So these two were the ones you have to travel with now?"
"Yes and I would really like to say no to that question."
"Well nice to see that you're back to your usual self," Natalia responds.
"Guys, you coming or not?" Jacob calls us from the entrance of the Pokemon center.
"Yeah, we're coming, just saying hellos again."
Walking over to them, Allison muzzles my claw, and looking down to her, I see why; my little habit back and making me feel a bit more better. Continuing to follow behind the three teens, Allison and I stay a little behind while everyone else were talking about in front. Looking around in search of a quiet place for later, no place that is untouched by some lamppost, or near something loud. Soon enough, we reach the battle subway, with other trainers young and old running in and out of the building.
Retrieving the tickets for a doubles subway, we board the one that is about to leave. Everyone else but Allison, Martin, and I are returned to the Pokeballs just so space wouldn't be too much of a problem. The first couple rounds pass by, Jacob and Peter winning each round, but the further we went on, the longer some battles went on, and close calls.
By the time the train returns to the station, they were able to win every single one, and surprisingly, the subway masters were off somewhere else, so there was no real final battle. For beating everyone in the train, Jacob and Peter are given the chance to choose at least one item from the store here. Of which Jacob gets a fire stone, and leaf stone for Peter.
"You guys were great!"
"Thanks Caitlyn, you're quite the battler, Jacob."
"Thanks, Peter. Though I really haven't been battling in a while," he shrugs.
"Really, we did all the work, and their complementing each other on it," Natalia sighs.
"I think they mean by battle style, and how to lead," I answer.
"Well Mr. Human that knows everything, thank you for answering my question."
"Wow, we were down there for that long, huh?" Peter states aloud, looking out to the lamp lit city.
"Pretty much, time flies if you're having fun."
"You have that right, so should we just go back to the Pokemon center for dinner?"
"What? No! Let's go to the carnival, it only stays in Nimbasa for this week only. And we can't go till next year!"
"Sure, that sounds better to spend the rest of the night, let's go!" Peter exclaims, already running ahead with Natalia.
"Wait for me Peter!"
"Those two sure get along, you two coming?"
"Yeah, we're coming, Jacob. Though you can go ahead, we're going to take our time if that's fine by you. "
"I'm fine with that, make sure you're with him, Allison. Come on Julia, let's get some food there."
"Yeah!"
"Are we really going to the carnival with them?"
"Maybe."
"You still don't know where we could go to, don't you?"
"Yeah, you caught me, I have no clue. Was hoping to find one on the way."
"Well I know a place, come on."
"Does it go through the carnival?"
"Yes, why?"
"Just curious," I start to run past her, "You coming?"
"Wait for me! And you don't know where you're going."
Running along, laughing a bit, we past through the carnival. We stop by a vendor who are selling Pokemon treats, and paying it with the money that I managed to keep when I went to the wild. Convincing Allison that I did not steal the money, she leads on, going past the carnival.
Crossing the stream next to the carnival, crossing by rocks that protruded from the water, and into a forest. Walking for a little bit, we make it to a small clearing with a rather large tree in front of us.
Giving a little jog over to the tree, Allison goes next to it and sits down, "This is a nice place, isn't it?"
"Yeah, nice and quiet and with this little clearing, we'll be able to look at the stars," I join her next to the tree and to notice something written,or rather cut into the tree; just four scratches, varying in size, and inside a heart.
Allison following my gaze, she moves closer to me, and lies down, "It's cute, isn't it?"
"What is it? Another Pokemon already marking this tree?" I ask, looking around, and moving my ears for anything.
"No, this is where my trainer and I camped out when we came here. Thought it would be nice to come back to later."
"Four marks, and I'm guessing when this was around it was you, the Mightyena, and Kirlia? But that doesn't make sense, Kirlia don't have claws."
"Well because the Kirlia wasn't a Kirlia. We just like to think of her like that," she sighs, "We found her like a Kirlia, but when my trainer caught her, she was actually a Zorua. Though later on, she took an illusion of a person."
"Well that makes more sense then," I put my claws to rest on her head, while using my free arm to take off my bag, and take out the treats.
Taking off my arm off of her, I open the bag of treats, and place one in front of her. We continue on doing this until there are no more treats, and just continue to sit next to the tree, looking up at the skies.
