Knight's Honor
"You're looking for the gym right?" Milo inquired.
Leon nodded, "Sure am. Which way is it?"
"Dead ahead can't miss it," Milo explained, "You know, everyone around here keeps telling me I'll end up running it someday but I just battle for fun. I don't think I'm very good."
"The very fact you battle with love for your Pokémon makes you a great trainer," Leon explained, "I sat go for it man. Even if you don't make it you'll have fun."
"You know what?" Milo smiled, "Maybe someday I will, but for now I gotta get Wooloo home. Best of luck Leon. See you around."
"Farewell Milo," Leon replied.
With that the two parted ways and Leon entered the Gym. He could tell instantly it was a Grass type Gym by the decorations around him. As he entered the locker room to change he found he was not alone as a man with a long blonde hair tied into a bun sat, holding a bow. The man wore a Grass Gym uniform and his green eyes examined his bow as he sat deep in concentration until Leon enetered. The man greeted the trainer with a bow, standing far taller than the young trainer "Bowen, Gym Leader. I've been waiting for you Leon."
"Do I know you?" Leon inquired.
Bowen shook his head and explained, "I am merely here on behalf of your benefactor to remind you we need you for our plans. You must be undefeated."
Bowen glared pointing an arrow at Leon, "Don't. Lose."
With that Bowen left and Leon entered the main area of the Gym, which was a wide open field full of Pokémon. Bowen explained over loudspeaker, "The Gym Challenge is an endurance test! Avoid the wild Pokémon and reach the end. You cannot run from the Pokémon, but may capture them. Best of luck."
Leon journeyed through the massive field, fighting various grass Pokémon: Lombre, Applin, Nuzleaf, and Bounsweet which took out his Roggenrola but left Charmeleon ready to fight Bowen.
Bowen explained before the battle, "Time you see what you really signed up for, Leon. The power our master holds, I wield but a fraction of it."
Gym Leader Bowen would like to battle!
Bowen sent out Rowlet as Leon sent out Charmeleon and his Dynamax Band charged from a Power Spot in the area.
Rowlet opened by disappearing into the shadows, leaving Charmeleon confused before it suddenly appeared and stabbed Charmeleon from behind in the arm with its beak with Shadow Sneak, only for Charmeleon to turn and catch it in its flaming maw and thrash it about as it dug into the bird with burning teeth, slamming it into the ground and fainting the bird with Fire Fang.
Bowen smirked, "You've got some fight in you! Soaring above the competition like a Corviknight! Unfortunately, I specialize in shooting things like you out of the sky! Dartrix! Dynamax!"
The crowd roared as the massive bird cried out, looming over the duo. Leon smirked and responded, "Good! More grass to burn to ashes! Helps me put on a good show for the people! Let's go!"
Charmeleon too Dynamaxed, ready to finish the job but..
Datrix's Quick Claw activated as it used Max Airstream, blasting Charmeleon with a cutting gale from its massive wings which boosted its speed as Charmeleon staggered back, falling to his knees but rising back up as Datrix prepared to finish the job, now with boosted speed to strike first next turn and finish Charmeleon off.
Charmeleon inhaled deeply and glared before it roared, blasting fire from its mouth and set the arena ablaze with a Max Flare so great that even the sunlight in the arena seemed to grow brighter from the light and the Datrix fell in an explosion or energy and ended the battle.
Bowen approached and shook hands with Leon as he handed the young trainer the badge, but whispered with malice in his heart, "You would be wise to continue as is, as if you fail our ruler, you will pay the price, Leon. We have a request for you. On the next route there are two men with a suitcase in white. Retrieve its contents by any means necessary. We will handle... any legal issues you cause. They are of no consequence. You will meet me in the next town at the restaurant and hand it to me. Best of luck, Leon."
With that Leon left, thinking to himself, "Was... was that a threat? Did he just threaten me? I... I guess I better get that case? Ugh. The things I do for my family..."
Leon proceeded onward towards the next town, once more getting lost until...
"Dude Rose gave the order to dump it in the lake!" One Marcos Cosmos grunt exclaimed as the two stood by the water, "It's better than her getting it and we know she's sent someone by now!"
"It just feels like a waste!" The other argued, "Look, fine. I'll do it but it just... seems wasteful."
The Marcos Cosmos grunt tosses the suitcase into the lake and the duo left. Leon approached and muttered, "Good thing I can fish."
Leon fished up the case and proceeded until he reached a nearby bridge after facing trainers and wild Pokémon along the way where the two Marcos Cosmos grunts from before discussed.
"And if someone fishes it up?" One asked.
"The only way that'll happen is if someone saw us throw it in," the other explained. "If that's the case we take it back."
The first grunt turned around and saw Leon, "Um... in that case get ready to battle."
"What?" The other asked and saw Leon with the case. "Oh. Hey kid! I'll pay you 500000 Pokédollars for that case!"
"I'm afraid I need this and you threw it away!" Leon exclaimed.
"You're working for her aren't you?" The first Grunt demanded, "If you give that to her people will die!"
"I have to protect my family," Leon glared, "And I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Then send out your Pokémon and defend yourself!" The other Grunt demanded.
The duo attacked at the same time in a double battle.
Marcos Cosmos grunts would like to battle...
