In Hulbury, a place near the seas of Galar. The day was calm and quiet and the seas were still. Nessa, who recently defeated a gym challenger, went out of the gym so she could relax before the next challenger arrives. She went toward the lighthouse, where she always goes to relax by watching the sea and the water Pokémon that live in it. Normally, she would just be alone watching the sea, but this time there way someone near the lighthouse as well. And they were on top of a Lapras, just watching the sea.

Nessa, very curious to see who it was, gets close to the edge where the fence covers the edge of the lighthouse. When she reaches the fence, she sees the Lapras and the person on it. She didn't recognize them at first and was curious to know more about this person. So she takes a breath and opens her mouth. "Hey there! What are you doing down there?" Nessa asks the person, who turns around and Nessa realizes it was you. You were seen a couple of times during her photoshoots, you mainly worked with the Pokémon, making sure they were behaving but also having fun, like a babysitter. When you saw Nessa your face went red. For a long time you admired Nessa for not only her beauty but also her strength. You wanted to be strong as her. You keep staring at her, admiring her beauty.

"Hey? Can you hear me?" Nessa said, snapping you out of your trance. "Huh? Oh! Sorry about that! I can hear you fine!" You said to Nessa. You kept your cool despite you feeling embarrassed deep inside. "So what are you doing down there?" She asks again. "Oh! I'm just here relaxing with Lapras and playing with the pokemon." You said but Nessa looks confused. "But I only see your Lapras. Where are the other pokemon?" She asks and you point to under you. Then a Mantine and Lanturn pop up in front of you, with smiles on their faces. "Oh! You have a Mantine and a Lanturn as well? I didn't know that." Nessa says to you. "Actually these are my parents pokemon. They often come to visit me a few times a month." You said to Nessa, while petting Mantine and Lanturn.

"Your parents?" Nessa asks you. "Yeah. My mom and dad live in Alola currently, they wanted to see the water types that live over there. But they send Lanturn and Mantine to visit me and send messages." You said but Nessa once again looks confused. "But why can't you use a Rotom Phone to talk to them?" She asks. "It's because it feels more personal by sending notes. Besides it gives Mantine and Lanturn a chance to play with Lapras." You said to Nessa who smiles softly at the sentiment. "Seems you and your parents have good amount of trust in each other. It's nice to see that." Nessa says making you blush slightly, but with her being over you she couldn't see it. An idea then crossed you mind and you gather the courage to say it.

"Nessa, who don't you come down here and play with Mantine and Lanturn? That is if you're not busy at the moment?" You ask her with the blush still on your face. Nessa was taken a bit aback from this sudden request, but her look softened and a smile as bright as the sun began to show. "I'll be glad to play with them, just give me one moment." Nessa said as she took off her sandals and took a few steps back. She then ran toward the fence and jumped over it, doing a quick front flip before landing beautifully into the water making a wonderful splash. You were is absolute awe seeing how Nessa could do that so beautifully not minding that you were splashed a bit. Your blush grew more red as a Charmander's flame, and even your Pokémon could see it as clear as day that you loved Nessa with all your heart. So Lapras, Mantine and Lanturn hatch a devious idea to get you and Nessa together.

Nessa then brought her head above the water and smiles at you. "How was the dive?" She asks and you could barely say a sentence without stuttering. "I-It was beautiful." Nessa giggles from the compliment and swims behind Lapras, she climbs on and sits close behind you. Your blush grew even brighter, and you prayed hoping she doesn't notice. Then Mantine and Lanturn pop out of the water and blast your face with a water gun. The cold rushing to your face, immediately cooling you down but some water got in your mouth. You spit it out and look at Mantine and Lanturn in irritation. "Hey what was that for?!" You exclaim only to hear them both laughing.

You then hear laughter behind you and see that Nessa was laughing as well. It made you smile seeing her laugh. Both Mantine and Lanturn look at each other and nod, to which then they use water gun on Nessa. Even though she was wet to begin with, she was still surprised to get a water attack to the face. Once both pokemon stoped using water gun, you couldn't help but laugh due to Nessa's shocked expression. You laughter was light but hearty and Nessa looks at you with a slight pout.

"Oh you think that's funny huh?" She says with a smirk beginning to form on her face. She then moves her arm a little above the water and moves it toward you by pushing her arm back into the water and swiping her arm to you. She creates a small wave of water and she splashes, to which you respond with a small gasp and feeling of the cold. Nessa laughs again and you shake your head and rub your face to remove some of the water. You then decide to jump into the water by jumping off of Lapras and you make a big splash, covering Nessa with even more water. The pokemon seemed to be happy that you decided to join in the fun and smile and laugh. Nessa rubs her face and laughs as well, he smile brighter than you would think.

You both continued to play in the water and spent time with each other. The time you spent together were the best moments you guys had together. However, as the sun goes down, the water begins to grow cold. So you both finally get out of the water with the help of Lapras getting you both back into solid ground. Once you both reached land, one of the trainers from the gym saw you guys and ran toward you both.

"Nessa! Where were you? You missed 3 new challengers who wanted to fight you!" The trainer exclaimed. Nessa was shocked to hear the news and nods. "I see... I'm sorry. I didn't mean for my break to go on for so long." Nessa said with a small frown on her face. You felt sort of guilty for keeping her from the gym, she was busy enough doing the gym and her modeling career and you taking time away from either was the last thing you wanted. The gym trainer then sighs. "Well... it's fine. You work really hard regardless and I guess a break is what you really deserve after working so much." Nessa smiles and nods and looks at the trainer with soft and gentle eyes. "Thank you, but it's getting late we should be getting home." Nessa said and the trainer nods. "Yeah, get some rest Nessa. I'll see you tomorrow." The trainer said and then left to head home.

Nessa then turns to you with her smile still on her face. "Thanks for spending some time with me. I really needed a chance to unwind and it was nice to get to know you better." Nessa says and you blush slightly. "Y-Yeah, it was no problem. And I'm glad you enjoyed yourself." You said with a slight stutter but continued to speak. "I-If you want, the next time you have a break... we can hang out again." You say and Nessa looks at you gently and smiles. "I would like that a lot." Nessa then waves goodbye and you do as well.

For the remainder of the night, you kept thinking of the wonderful time you spent with Nessa. The smile she had, her cute laugh. There was no doubt about it. Your admiration for Nessa was actually a crush and deep within you, you felt that maybe there is a chance she likes you too. That very thought just made you restless and it seems you wouldn't be getting any sleep anytime soon.

A couple months have passed... and both you and Nessa were as close as you can be. During Nessa's gym battles she would spot you in the stands cheering for her as loud as you can. During her photoshoots, while you played with the pokemon to keep them at their best behavior, she would walk to you and talk and play with them as well, making it the best for you and the staff for it made really excellent pictures. On her days off from either the gym or her modeling, you both would spend time together at your usual spot near the lighthouse and enjoy each others company. Some nights you both ate out together, other times you went outside of Hulbury and took in the sights.

Then... one night, you both were out near the lighthouse. It was quiet and peaceful, with the sounds of the water being the only thing you can hear. You were happy being with Nessa and after being incredible friends for a couple of months you thought it was finally time to ask her. You were nervous, but this was the perfect moment.

You then look at her and you take a deep breath. "Hey... Nessa?" She then looks to you with soft smile on her face. "Yeah? What's up?" She asks and you began to blush, your nerves getting the best of you. However, you took a another deep breath and look at her in a fixed but gentle gaze. "We-We've been spending a lot of time together and I... I really love it. It makes me happy to spend time with you and I hope it means the same to you. Being with you is best moments I've ever had. So.... I love you Nessa... and I hope you feel the same way about me too." You said and there was a moment of silence. You look and see the shocked expression on her face and you felt as if you did something wrong. "I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to-"

You didn't even get a chance to finish as you felt a pair of lips touch yours. Nessa was kissing you, her lips were soft and it felt like bliss. The kiss only kept going for a couple of seconds until you both pulled away. Your face was full on crimson as well as Nessa's. The entire area fell silent... not even the waves were crashing against the shore. The expression of shock was still on your face, trying to comprehend what just happened.

Nessa moves her hand and brushes her hair to the side. "Well... how was it?" She asks with blush still on her face. You were still in shock and you couldn't even mouth a response. "Well.... don't leave me in suspense." Nessa says. No matter how hard you tried, not a sound left your mouth. Nessa was beginning to lose confidence in herself and looks away from you. "I'm sorry.... I shouldn't have done that. I-I should go." Nessa then turns away and was about to get up and leave, that is until you grab her arm and pull her in gently and give her a kiss on the lips.

Her eyes widen but eases in and kisses back gently. The kiss deepens and both of you are in an absolute high. Though this continues for a few seconds, you both then pull away and you look at her with a soft gentle expression. "It was wonderful Nessa..." you finally were able to speak your mind. Nessa blushes and smiles all while moving her hand to caress your cheek. "You say that about everything though." She says with a smile. "Well I say it because it's true." You said while caressing Nessa's cheek

The pair laugh and smile together. Throughout the rest of the night you both smiled, laughed and cherished your moments together even more. When the night was nearing its end, you both head back to your house and spent the last moments of the night together. You both rest on the sofa with a blanket covering you both. And as both your's and Nessa's eyes grew heavy, you both fell asleep in each other's arms.
