SR Academy Years Ch6: New Night's Accomplishment

"Okay, now put this metal wire through... now bend it to shape it like Kayla's ears."

"Like this, mom?"

"Exactly."

Pushing the metal wire through the sewn fabric, stopping right here... to make the tip... and bending it back a little to get the curve of the ears.

"Nice work. Now one more, Crystal."

Looking at the first finished ear, it looks like the real thing! Okay then, one more to go.

As I finish up the ears and attach them to the headband, we move on to the tail. Creating the forked tail to have the illusion to move whenever I move, but not long enough to make it a nuisance to others if I walk pass by them.

"Cerin! What do you think you're doing?" mom starts to laugh.

Looking up onto the table, Cerin struggles to put on the headband ears onto her head. Using her no-thumbed paw and mouth in an attempt to put it onto her head. Grabbing the headband, mom places it on her head for her. With it finally on (placed just in front of her ears), she backflips off the table with a purple glow. As she lands, she stands looking just like me!

"Oh, what do you think you're doing, Cerin?"

"Junu!" she yips, surprising me that she could even talk... even sounds like me!

"Wait, how? How did she speak?"

"You are aware that Zorua and its evolution can create illusions, right?"

"Yeah."

"Apparently, with the ability of illusions, some zorua and zoroarks can mimic words. So in a way to confuse us into thinking they can actually talk, yet they actually don't talk I think..." she puts a hand onto her chin in thought. "You'll have to ask Junu to explain it better for you. I think I may have explained it incorrectly."

"That's something on its own..."

As Cerin was walking away on two legs, I couldn't help but laugh a little. Thinking about Cerin's ability, and causing more trouble if she decided to disguise as someone. Using the illusion to create ever more mischievous deeds, resulting in the wrong person or pokemon getting in trouble."

With her gone, we continue to work, but to hear someone coming down a few moments later.

"Drop something?" Junu casually asks.

As he put the ears on the table, he looks to the partially completed dress.

"Looks nice."

"Thanks..."

"Mind grabbing me a water bottle, Junu? You want something to drink, Crystal?"

"I'll go get something myself."

"Alright, I'll just do this part for you, and you can do the rest."

Getting up and stretching, I head to the kitchen. Trying to make a little conversation with Junu as I haven't talked to him much beforehand. Quietly, I grab a water bottle and stay in the kitchen until Junu comes back to grab a snack of fruit.

"So... how's battling so far?"

"Too easy. Already beat the local schools and their battlers."

"Well that's good, so is the next one regional?"

"No, district. The day after the Halloween party at school. Then we'll have to wait a few more weeks until the regional battles are held in Lumiose."

"Right..."

With silence looming between us, I take my bottle and walk back over to the workplace. On my way back, I nearly trip over Lock.

"Oh, sorry Lock," I try to pet his head apologetically, but he continues walking before I can.

------------

"Finally!"

Finished and cleaned up of any scraps, the entire set is done. Not exactly like the sketch I made last week, but close enough and looks fantastic considering this is the first time I've sewn. But most of the help came from mom.

Being held on a clothing hanger, the light lavender cloak is decorated with small, colorful rocks at the neck of the cloak, as well as single, long strips of ribbon cascades down from the shoulders. Including a small wand, but it's in the garage, as we finished painting it earlier, and I cannot wait to actually see once it dries. As mom told me that it'll look like an actual twig-wand. Mom also had me embroider the tag C.Y. into the cloak, as she claimed that it would give proof that I created this, also a way to have it returned if I lost it.

Underneath the cloak lies Kayla's small wizard hat, the only thing we finished in time for Kayla.

"Just a day before the party, what timing. Here, you plan to go out later tonight? Although you won't be able to take the wand."

"Well, I have homework to finish up on..."

"I don't think that's it, now is it? I'm guessing you haven't gone out for Trick or Treating, now have you?"

"..."

Shaking her head, smiling, she leaves the workroom and heads upstairs.

Hearing her coming back down, I look to see what she was doing.

"Lucky you, Junu agreed that he'll take you out after he's finished. Seeing that I have to do some work for my job. Make sure to be back before... ten, okay?"

"Okay, mom."

------

As ten minutes fly by, Junu comes down wearing a black jacket and jeans.

"You coming?" he asks, picking up the keys and his pokeballs from the kitchen counter.

"Oh... yeah, let me finish dressing up then. Aren't you going to dress too?"

"Nope."

"Right..."

Hastily dressing up into the rest of my costume, we head on out, as other kids also start their treasure seeking hunts of candy. Excited and worried at the same time, I walk to the first house with Junu behind me.

Hope this will be fun as some of my old friends said it was for them...

---------

By the time we come back home, the night was nothing that I ever expected. Everyone dressing up, some created themselves, others not. Mostly younger kids and teens, but the occasional adult dressed up as well. The atmosphere of both terror and joy making the night all the more thrilling and fun.

However, what made this night better was Cerin.

Somehow getting out of her Pokeball, she ran around, seeking treats for her to eat. Using her ability, she would change her appearance to look like other pokemon and go to the same house that gave treats to pokemon.

But that wasn't the best part of the night. The best part of the night occurred as Cerin created an illusion on Junu, giving him the ears and tail of a Skitty. Making me laugh, as the ears and tail mimic Cerin's motions. After some scolding and returning her back to her pokeball, he makes the decision to go back home, even though we still had another half-hour.

"Have fun, Crystal?" mom asks as we close the door.

"We did mom. Although I found it weird as many adults and some other girls were wondering if the dress we made was made by the fashion designer, Hannah Lee."

"She is her," Junu comments, taking a few pieces of candy from my bag.

"You are Hannah Lee?"

"Why yes I am, Crystal," she smiles.

"How did I not notice this before! You make some of the best designs. Also, were you really the one who supplied Cerin with her costumes?"

"Calm down Crystal, but yes, I did supply Melissa with her costumes and clothing. Pity that she was found dead, however... Anyways, you two better get to bed! You still have school tomorrow, but you can ask me anything about my job tomorrow, Crystal."

Nodding my head in agreement, I head on up, taking a shower and off to bed.

"Oh my Arceus, Hannah Lee is my mother... this is just getting better, isn't it Kayla?"

"Espeon!"

Still feeling awestruck about mom, I toss and turn, struggling to sleep, until a few hours later, I finally fall asleep.
