Where's Togepi?
The lab descended into chaos as Officer Jenny arrived in her squad car, lights flashing and sirens blaring. She marched into the lab, her authoritative presence making everyone freeze in place.
"Professor Rowan," Jenny began, her voice firm, "you're under arrest for the unauthorized removal of a Pokémon under this young trainer's care."
Rowan looked stunned. "Officer, I assure you, it was a misunderstanding!"
Wisty crossed her arms smugly, her Pokémon flanking her like a loyal squad. "That's what they all say, Professor. You took my Togepi, and now you face the consequences."
Jenny nodded. "Miss Wisty, as the claimant, I'll need you to file an official report."
Wisty pulled out a pen and her badge, flashing it again. "Already ahead of you, Officer. I've got my credentials."
Ash slapped his forehead. "This cannot be happening..."
Meanwhile, Dawn and Brock exchanged stunned looks as the summer camp students whispered among themselves. Some gasped in awe at Wisty's commanding presence, while others nervously backed away from the Pokémon still surrounding her protectively.
Jenny gave Rowan a knowing look. "Don't worry, Professor, this will all be sorted out back at the station." She cuffed him gently and began leading him out.
As Rowan passed by Wisty, he sighed. "You're very... thorough."
"Thanks," Wisty replied brightly, "I try."
As Rowan was escorted out, Jenny turned to Wisty. "Since you're clearly capable and a trainer of high rank," she said, gesturing to the badge Wisty wore, "I'm appointing you as the temporary leader of this summer camp while we investigate."
All eyes snapped to Wisty.
"WHAT?!" Ash exclaimed, his jaw practically hitting the floor.
Wisty smirked, cracking her knuckles. "Alright, campers! Line up! Ten miles around the lab, let's go!"
The students froze in shock, their expressions ranging from disbelief to terror. Even Ash and his friends were speechless.
"Ten... miles?" Gary repeated, blinking.
"Yep!" Wisty confirmed, hands on her hips. "And no complaining! The sooner we start, the sooner we're done!"
Ash stepped forward, waving his hands. "Wisty, maybe we should—"
"FALL IN LINE, ASH!" Wisty barked, pointing at him with authority.
Ash flinched and muttered under his breath, "Uh oh... this is going to be a long day."
With Wisty leading the charge, her Pokémon trotting happily beside her, the campers reluctantly began jogging around the lab. Officer Jenny stayed behind, watching the scene unfold with a small smile.
"Looks like this camp just got a lot more interesting," she said, shaking her head as she drove away.
The campers trudged back to the lab, sweat dripping and legs aching after the unexpected morning marathon. Wisty, barely breaking a sweat, marched ahead of the group, her Pokémon happily trotting alongside her. Ash lagged behind, muttering, "Ten miles... TEN MILES!"
Once everyone was gathered inside the lab, Wisty clapped her hands. "Alright, campers! Time to get serious. Professor Rowan might be gone, but research doesn't stop."
Gary, standing off to the side, looked at a covered table and froze. His expression turned somber as he slowly pulled back the sheet to reveal a preserved Marowak, lying still and lifeless.
"Oh..." Gary murmured, his voice heavy. "I remember this one. I brought it into the lab for the professor last month. He said it was for research."
The room went silent, an unspoken sadness settling over the group. Even Ash, who was still nursing his sore legs, straightened up, his expression serious.
"It's a shame," Brock said quietly, stepping closer. "Marowak are such noble Pokémon. I hope its sacrifice wasn't in vain."
Dawn crossed her arms, frowning. "What kind of research was Rowan doing on it, though? Did he ever say?"
Gary shook his head. "He didn't tell me much. Just that it was important for understanding Pokémon behavior and bonding."
Before anyone could dwell further, a loud giggle broke through the heavy atmosphere.
"Togepi, what are you—" Wisty's eyes widened as she spun around.
Togepi was at it again, a marker in its tiny hand. The little troublemaker was giggling uncontrollably, doodling spirals, flowers, and what appeared to be a very lopsided Pikachu on the walls, desks, and even on some of the other Pokémon.
"Togepi!" Wisty shouted, marching over. "What are you doing?!"
Togepi turned, its innocent wide-eyed expression completely at odds with the massive chaos it had caused. Behind it, Eevee was rolling around on the floor, now sporting bright green marker spots, and Jigglypuff had "JIGGY RULES" scrawled across its puffed-up body.
Gary burst out laughing. "Well, at least someone's having fun."
Ash sighed, rubbing his temples. "This is going to take forever to clean up..."
Wisty scooped Togepi up, holding it at eye level. "You're lucky you're cute," she grumbled. "But if you don't stop this, I'm assigning you extra laps!"
Togepi responded with a cheerful "Togepriiii!" before snuggling into Wisty's arms.
"Looks like she doesn't take you seriously," Gary teased, smirking.
Wisty shot him a glare. "You want extra laps too, Oak?"
Gary raised his hands in surrender. "Nope, I'm good!"
As the group attempted to refocus, Dawn groaned, staring at the wall covered in doodles. "How are we supposed to take anything seriously when Togepi is turning this place into an art gallery?"
Wisty smirked. "Easy. We clean it up—after we figure out what Rowan was up to. Gary, you brought this Marowak in, so you're coming with me to check his notes. The rest of you, keep Togepi under control. Good luck with that."
"Togepriiii!" Togepi chirped, happily waving its marker like a tiny artist ready for its next masterpiece.
As the group began organizing the chaos Togepi had created, the cheerful Pokémon suddenly pulled out... a sniper rifle from seemingly nowhere.
Everyone froze.
Ash's eyes widened to the size of Poké Balls. "Togepi... where did you... HOW did you—"
"GUN! IT HAS A GUN!" Gary screamed, diving behind the nearest table.
Brock, ever the calm one, shouted, "Nobody make any sudden movements!"
Dawn clung to Piplup, who was quaking just as much as she was. "Wisty, do something! That's a real sniper rifle!"
But Wisty, instead of panicking, casually walked over to Togepi. She crouched down, eyeing the Pokémon proudly. "Good girl, Togepi," she said with a smirk.
The entire room erupted in disbelief.
"GOOD GIRL?!" Ash yelled. "Wisty, are you out of your mind?!"
Wisty shrugged. "What? She's just showing she can handle herself. Besides, you never know when you'll need backup."
"BACKUP?!" Gary poked his head out from behind the table, looking like he was about to pass out. "Wisty, that thing isn't a toy!"
Togepi, oblivious to the chaos it had caused, waved the rifle happily, its eyes sparkling. "Togepriiii!"
Dawn stared in horror. "Why does Togepi even HAVE that?!"
Wisty crossed her arms. "Well, sometimes we run into... situations. And Togepi likes to be prepared."
Ash slapped his forehead. "Wisty, this isn't 'prepared.' This is straight-up terrifying!"
Wisty turned to Togepi, who was now pretending to aim at a stack of lab notes on the desk. "Alright, Togepi, that's enough for now. Let's put the big gun away, okay?"
Togepi tilted its head as if considering, then giggled and stuffed the sniper rifle back into the mysterious void it had pulled it from.
The room let out a collective sigh of relief.
Brock shook his head. "Wisty, you really need to explain how your Pokémon have access to... that kind of equipment."
Wisty smirked. "Trade secret."
Ash groaned, rubbing his temples. "We're all doomed."
Gary slowly climbed out from his hiding spot, glaring at Wisty. "If that thing pulls out a bazooka next, I'm leaving. For good."
Togepi, seemingly pleased with itself, hopped back into Wisty's arms, nuzzling her affectionately. Wisty patted its head. "That's my girl. Always ready for anything."
Everyone else exchanged worried looks, silently wondering what other surprises Wisty and her Pokémon had up their sleeves.
Then Togepi waddled over to Ash with a mischievous glint in its eye.
"Togepi, what are you—" Ash began, but his words were cut short when the tiny Pokémon pulled out an army gun from seemingly nowhere and pressed it to his forehead.
The collective scream that followed could have shattered windows.
"OH MY ARCEUS!" Gary shrieked, diving under the table again. "IT'S GONE COMPLETELY ROGUE!"
"TOGEPI, NO!" Dawn screamed, clutching Piplup, who had fainted from fright.
Brock tried to rush forward but froze mid-step, his hands trembling. "Wisty, do something! Call it off!"
But Wisty stood there, arms crossed, completely unfazed. "Relax. She's just testing his nerve."
Ash's face was pale as snow. "Wisty, this is NOT a test! Togepi, put the gun down, buddy. We're friends, remember?" His voice cracked.
Togepi giggled, tilting its head adorably, which only made the situation more terrifying. "Togepriiiiii!"
Ash's knees started to buckle. "Wisty, I'm begging you! Call her off before I faint!"
Wisty walked up calmly, kneeling beside Togepi and patting its head. "Alright, Togepi, enough fun. Ash isn't ready for advanced training yet."
Togepi pouted but eventually lowered the gun, letting out a cheerful chirp as if nothing had happened. It then tossed the gun behind it, where it mysteriously disappeared.
The room went deathly quiet.
Ash collapsed to the floor, clutching his chest. "Advanced training?! What kind of training involves holding a gun to someone's head?!"
Gary peeked out from his hiding spot. "Wisty, you've officially lost it. That thing is psychotic!"
"Psychotic?" Wisty scoffed. "She's a genius. Togepi knows exactly what she's doing." She turned to Togepi with a grin. "Good job, girl. You really had Ash sweating."
"SWEATING?! I ALMOST DIED!" Ash yelled, his voice cracking as he scrambled back to his feet. "Wisty, you need to keep that thing under control!"
Brock shook his head, his face pale. "I don't know whether to call Officer Jenny or a therapist for all of us."
Dawn stared at Togepi in horror. "Wisty, what else is that thing capable of?"
Wisty smirked. "Oh, you'll see. But don't worry—she only does this kind of stuff to people she trusts."
Ash threw his hands in the air. "That doesn't make it better!"
Meanwhile, Togepi skipped happily back to Wisty's side, nuzzling her leg as if it hadn't just held Ash at gunpoint.
Gary muttered, "I'm not sticking around if she pulls out a tank next time."
Wisty turned to the group with a confident grin. "Alright, everyone, back to work. Togepi's just keeping you all on your toes."
Ash groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I'm going to need therapy after this..."
Togepi chirped innocently, as if nothing had happened, leaving the entire room wondering what else the tiny Pokémon was capable of.
The room was just beginning to settle down when a sudden, deafening crash echoed through the lab, sending dust and debris flying everywhere.
"WHAT NOW?!" Ash screamed, ducking behind a counter as chunks of wall fell around him.
Everyone turned toward the source of the chaos—and their jaws collectively dropped.
Jigglypuff and Clefairy had burst through the wall... in a full-sized military tank.
"CLEFAAAAA!" Clefairy cheered, pumping its tiny fist in victory as Jigglypuff steered the monstrous vehicle with unsettling precision.
"OH. MY. ARCEUS." Gary's voice was barely audible as he peeked out from under his table for the second time that day. "WHAT KIND OF POKÉMON TRAINER EVEN ARE YOU, WISTY?!"
Dawn clung to Piplup, who had fainted again. "That's it. I'm done. I'm moving to Sinnoh permanently. Ash, you deal with this!"
Ash peeked out from his hiding spot, his face pale as a ghost. "Wisty, WHY DO THEY HAVE A TANK?!"
Wisty smirked, casually brushing dust off her sleeve. "What? You've never trained Pokémon for urban warfare?"
"NO! BECAUSE THAT'S NOT A THING!" Brock yelled, throwing his hands up in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Jigglypuff gleefully hit a lever, making the tank swivel around with a loud metallic groan. The cannon pointed directly at Rowan's prized research desk.
"NO! NOT THE DESK!" Gary shrieked, rushing forward with outstretched arms. "ALL MY DATA IS ON THERE!"
Clefairy giggled and slapped a button. The cannon fired a rubber duck at full speed, obliterating the desk and sending papers flying everywhere.
"CLEFAAAAIRY!"
"JIGGLYYYYY!"
Ash's face was frozen in pure horror. "Why is it worse that they loaded the cannon with a rubber duck?"
Gary whimpered from his hiding spot. "Because it means they're toying with us!"
Gary stared at the wreckage of his desk in stunned silence. "...All my research... gone."
Wisty clapped her hands. "Okay, that's enough, you two. You've proven your point."
Jigglypuff and Clefairy exchanged glances, then reluctantly parked the tank, hopping out as if nothing had happened.
"WHERE DID THEY EVEN GET A TANK?!" Dawn screamed, her voice on the verge of hysteria.
"Custom build," Wisty said nonchalantly, crossing her arms. "I designed it myself. Pretty cool, huh?"
"COOL?! YOU DESTROYED THE LAB!" Brock gestured at the gaping hole in the wall and the piles of rubble everywhere. "You're gonna bankrupt Rowan at this rate!"
Ash shook his head in disbelief. "I don't even know how to react anymore. First, Togepi with a gun, and now this?!"
Wisty grinned, patting Jigglypuff and Clefairy on the head. "What can I say? My Pokémon are creative problem solvers."
Gary peeked out cautiously. "Please tell me you don't have more surprises like this."
Wisty's grin widened. "Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about that."
Gary immediately dove back under the table. "That means she definitely has more."
As the dust settled and everyone tried to process what had just happened, Jigglypuff pulled out its marker and began doodling on Gary's forehead while Clefairy climbed back into the tank, pressing random buttons.
Ash groaned. "This summer camp is going to kill me, isn't it?"
Wisty chuckled, hands on her hips. "Nah, Ash. It's just getting started."
