Wedding

Dawn rubbed her temples, trying to process what was happening. She glanced at Kenny, who looked equally stunned—and annoyed.

“Are we really doing this?” Kenny whispered as they were herded toward what looked like an altar made of couch cushions and stuffed animals.

“Apparently,” Dawn muttered, eyeing Mia, who was directing the chaos like a maestro conducting an orchestra.

Ash shuffled awkwardly in his seat, tugging at his borrowed tie. “Uh, is this, like, an actual wedding?”

“It better not be,” Dawn growled under her breath.

Mia clapped her hands for attention. “Alright, everyone, settle down! We are gathered here today to witness the union of Aunt Dawn and Uncle Kenny.”

“Union?! This isn’t legally binding, right?” Kenny asked, his voice rising in panic.

Mia shot him a glare so withering he immediately shut up. “Uncle Kenny, it’s rude to interrupt the wedding planner.”

Misty leaned over to Brock and whispered, “This is the most chaotic thing I’ve ever seen, and we’ve been through a lot.”

Mia cleared her throat dramatically. “Now, Uncle Kenny, please read your vows.”

“What vows?” Kenny hissed.

Mia beamed and handed him a crumpled piece of pink paper covered in glitter and hearts. “The ones I wrote for you! They’re very romantic.

Kenny unfolded the paper and scanned it, his face turning redder by the second. “Mia, I can’t say this!”

“Yes, you can,” Mia insisted. “It’s from the heart.”

“I—this—oh my Arceus,” Kenny groaned but took a deep breath and began reading. “Ahem. ‘Dawn, from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. Your smile lights up my world like the brightest sunrise, and your laugh is like music to my soul.’” He paused, glaring at Mia. “Seriously?”

“Keep going!” she chirped.

Kenny sighed. “You are my best friend, my partner, and the love of my life. I promise to cherish you forever, through every battle and every storm.”

By the end, Kenny looked like he wanted to crawl under a rock. Dawn, meanwhile, was staring at him, her mouth agape.

“Wow, Kenny,” Brock said, grinning. “Didn’t know you had it in you.”

“I didn’t write it!” Kenny snapped.

“Your turn, Aunt Dawn!” Mia sang, holding up another glittery paper.

“Oh, no way,” Dawn said, backing away.

“Do it, or I tell Avery to start throwing blocks again,” Mia threatened sweetly.

Dawn groaned and snatched the paper. She skimmed it and felt her face heat up. “You’ve gotta be kidding me…”

“Read it!” Mia demanded.

Dawn took a deep breath, her voice dripping with reluctance. “Kenny, you are my rock, my anchor in life’s turbulent sea. Your kindness and strength inspire me every day, and I am so lucky to have you by my side.”

Kenny coughed to hide a laugh, earning a glare from Dawn.

“You are my best friend, my confidant, and my true love,” she continued, her tone flat despite the flowery words. “I promise to stand by you, through thick and thin, for all eternity.”

The room fell silent. Then Ash whispered, “This is the weirdest day of my life.”

“It’s about to get weirder,” Mia announced. “Aunt Dawn, Uncle Kenny, you may now kiss.”

Both Dawn and Kenny froze. “WHAT?!” they shouted in unison.

“Yeah! Kissy-kissy time!” Avery cheered, throwing a block in celebration.

“Nope. Not happening,” Dawn said, crossing her arms.

“Do it!” Mia insisted, stamping her foot.

“Avery, back me up!” Mia called.

Avery pouted. “If you don’t kiss, I’ll throw more blocks.”

Kenny and Dawn exchanged a panicked look. “Fine!” Dawn groaned. “Let’s get this over with.”

They leaned in, their faces inches apart. “This is so awkward,” Kenny muttered.

“Tell me about it,” Dawn replied.

Finally, their lips brushed in the most half-hearted, reluctant kiss imaginable. The room erupted in cheers—except for Ash, who just looked baffled.

“There!” Dawn said, stepping back and wiping her mouth. “Happy now?”

Mia grinned triumphantly. “Perfect! Now you’re married for real.”

What?!” Dawn and Kenny yelled again.

“Don’t worry, I have rings!” Mia announced, pulling out two shiny wedding bands.

“Where did you even get these?” Dawn demanded, but Mia just winked.

As the chaos continued, Misty leaned over to Brock and whispered, “You think they’ll ever forgive her?”

“Probably not,” Brock said, laughing. “But it was worth it.”
