Team Shocker

" Get up." Someone said as they pulled Dawn's blanket off. Dawn turned.

Zoey.

" Zoey, I don't care what you say but nothing ANYONE does is gonna convince me to move." Dawn snapped, grabbing the blanket and pulling it on herself again.

" Even me?* Another voice asked.

Dawn didn't even bother to look.

The person sighed. " Oh Dawn...."

Dawn didn't even care.

Then she felt the mattress sink a little.

Then the bed moved.

Then the edge of the blanket was lifted, and someone scooted in.

Then two warm arms wrapped around Dawn and hugged her tight.

There, lying down next to her, was her Auburn haired prince.

Her one and only .

" What do you want?" Dawn muttered into his chest.

" To make sure that you get out of your depression."

Zoey nodded slightly to the boy, and he nodded.

Dawn sighed deeply, burying her face further into Kenny's chest. "Kenny, I don’t need a pep talk. I just need everyone to leave me alone."

Kenny tightened his arms around her, resting his chin on the top of her head. "Yeah, well, tough luck, Dee Dee. You’re stuck with me, and I’m not going anywhere until you stop moping and start acting like yourself again."

"Act like myself?" Dawn mumbled, her voice muffled. "What if this is just who I am now?"

Zoey crossed her arms, leaning against the doorframe. "Oh, come on, Dawn. We both know that’s not true. You’ve been through tough stuff before, and you always bounce back. This pity party? It’s not you."

Kenny nodded in agreement, gently brushing a strand of hair away from Dawn’s face. "She’s right, you know. You’re Dawn—the girl who never gives up, who takes every challenge head-on with that annoying little catchphrase of yours."

Dawn huffed lightly, her lips twitching into the faintest of smiles. "It’s not annoying…"

"It’s a little annoying," Kenny teased, grinning as he poked her cheek. "But it’s also what makes you… well, you. The Dawn we all know and love doesn’t hide under a blanket and give up."

Zoey smirked, pushing off the wall. "Exactly. So, Kenny, what’s the plan to drag her out of this funk?"

Kenny looked down at Dawn, his grin turning mischievous. "Simple. We annoy her until she gets up."

Dawn groaned, finally peeking out from under the blanket. "You wouldn’t dare."

Zoey raised an eyebrow. "Oh, he would. And so would I."

Kenny’s grin widened as he leaned closer. "Dee Dee, you forget who you’re dealing with. I’ve got a whole arsenal of terrible jokes and embarrassing childhood stories I can unleash at any moment."

"You wouldn’t…" Dawn muttered, her eyes narrowing.

Kenny smirked. "Oh, I would. And Zoey here will back me up. Right, Zo?"

Zoey gave a mock-serious nod. "Absolutely. I’ve got a few stories of my own, you know."

Dawn groaned loudly, throwing her head back dramatically. "You two are the worst."

"And yet, you love us," Kenny shot back, his tone light but his eyes warm. "Now, come on, Dee Dee. Get up, get moving. Let’s go do something fun—anything but this."

Dawn hesitated, glancing between Kenny and Zoey. They both looked at her expectantly, their determination shining through.

Finally, she sighed and pushed the blanket off, sitting up slowly. "Fine. But if you start telling any stories, I’m leaving."

Kenny laughed, ruffling her hair as Zoey smiled in triumph. "Deal. Now, let’s get out of here, okay?"

Dawn couldn’t help but smile a little, feeling the warmth of her friends’ unwavering support. Maybe, just maybe, things would start to look up.
