🐧 shipping wedding
The room was filled with awkward silence as the guests – Ash, Misty, Brock, Drew, and May – all stood in confusion, dressed in their fancy attire, watching the spectacle unfold before them. Kenny and Dawn stood in front of them, trying to process the situation. Their faces were flushed with embarrassment, and they both felt out of place in the formal clothes.
Dawn blinked rapidly. “Mia, why are we doing this?!” she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of frustration and disbelief.
Mia stood proudly, arms crossed over her chest, grinning from ear to ear. “Because you two are getting married!” she declared as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Kenny sighed, shaking his head. “But Mia, this is ridiculous. We’re not even—”
“No time for excuses!” Mia interrupted, holding up a piece of paper with what looked like vows written on it. “Now, Uncle Kenny, you have to say your vows. Don’t forget to be extra romantic!”
Kenny groaned, his face turning even redder. “I don’t even know what’s on this paper…”
But Mia wasn’t going to let that stop her. “You’ll figure it out! Now, say it with love!”
Kenny glanced at Dawn, who had her arms crossed tightly across her chest, looking as though she might explode from frustration. He sighed again and started reading the vow, his voice uncomfortably high-pitched as he read Mia’s words aloud.
“Dawn, my darling, my love, my heart beats only for you. In your eyes, I see the stars, and in your smile, I see the world. With every breath, I promise to cherish you, protect you, and love you forever. You are my everything. I love you more than anything on this earth.”
Dawn’s face was the color of a tomato. “Kenny… no... just no,” she muttered, but her voice was drowned out by Mia’s cheers.
“Perfect! Now Aunt Dawn, it’s your turn!” Mia said, practically bouncing in excitement.
Dawn hesitated. “Do I have to?”
“Yes!” Mia insisted. “We’re doing this right. Now, say your vows to Uncle Kenny!”
Dawn took the paper from Mia, her hand shaking slightly as she read the vow aloud. “Kenny, my love, my best friend, my partner, you make every moment feel like a dream. I promise to stand by you through thick and thin, to love you endlessly and to always put you first. You complete me in ways I never thought possible. I will love you forever, even when you leave your socks everywhere.”
The guests were trying their hardest to hold back their laughter, but the tension in the room was palpable. Kenny, trying to hold himself together, stammered, “Uh… thanks, Dawn?”
“Okay, okay!” Mia declared. “Now it’s time for the kiss!”
The room collectively groaned, but Mia wasn’t having it. “Uncle Kenny, Aunt Dawn, you’re married now! You have to kiss!”
“But we’re not really—” Dawn started, but Avery cut her off.
“You promised!” Avery shouted, holding up a small camera. “Now, kiss!”
Dawn looked at Kenny, her eyes wide with panic. “I can’t…”
Kenny rubbed the back of his neck. “Neither can I…”
But before they could protest any further, Avery started counting. “One… two… three!”
And before they knew it, Mia shoved them both together, forcing their lips to meet. The entire room was frozen, the sound of distant giggles barely masking the awkwardness of the moment. It was a kiss that neither of them wanted, but both of them were now stuck in.
After what felt like an eternity, Mia finally allowed them to pull apart. She clapped her hands together in delight. “There! Now you’re married!”
The guests were silent, blinking in disbelief. Brock rubbed his forehead in frustration. “I don’t even know what just happened.”
Misty raised an eyebrow. “Did we just witness a wedding or a hostage situation?”
May sighed dramatically. “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Dawn and Kenny shared an uncomfortable look, both wishing they could disappear into the ground. But before they could even utter another word, Mia proudly handed them wedding rings – real wedding rings, sparkling and shiny, as if they had actually just tied the knot.
Dawn’s jaw dropped. “Mia, what the heck is this?”
Mia grinned widely. “You’re officially married now! You even have rings to prove it!”
Kenny looked down at the ring in his hand. “Are you serious? This is… this is insane!”
Avery nodded enthusiastically. “Yep, now Uncle Kenny can wear his ring and show everyone he’s married!”
Dawn let out a long, drawn-out sigh. “Mia… this is too much. We’re not even a couple!”
Mia’s face lit up with pride. “But you two look so cute together! This is the best wedding ever!”
The awkwardness in the room was so thick, it could be cut with a knife. No one knew what to say next. But then, Drew, still holding her breath, finally spoke.
“So… can we go home now?”
The entire room erupted into laughter, but it didn’t make the situation any less awkward.
“Well, that’s it then,” Kenny said, shaking his head. “We’re done here, right?”
Mia smiled mischievously. “Not yet! The reception’s next!”
Dawn and Kenny exchanged another glance, both of them silently praying that this madness would end soon.
