Penguin shipping wedding
Dawn and Kenny stood frozen, staring out at the "wedding" scene unfolding in front of them. Mia had somehow managed to decorate the living room with white streamers and balloons. There was even a makeshift altar, complete with flower petals strewn on the floor.
Mia stood proudly, her hands on her hips. "Alright, everyone! Let's begin!"
Kenny leaned toward Dawn, whispering, "How does a ten-year-old orchestrate all this? Where did she even get those flower petals?"
Dawn whispered back, "I think she stole them from the neighbor’s garden."
Misty, standing off to the side in a frilly dress that was definitely not her style, waved hesitantly. "Uh, hi? Can someone explain what’s happening here?"
Brock chuckled nervously, holding a plate of snacks. "I just came for the cake."
Ash scratched his head. "Wait, are Kenny and Dawn actually getting married? Did I miss something?"
"No, you didn’t," Dawn hissed through clenched teeth. She turned to Mia. "Mia, what is this? Why are you doing this?"
Mia beamed. "Because you two love each other!"
Kenny groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Mia, we do not—"
"Shhh!" Mia cut him off, wagging her finger. "No objections during the ceremony. Now, Avery, bring the rings!"
"Rings?!" Dawn and Kenny exclaimed in unison.
Avery ran up with a small velvet box that looked suspiciously like it had been taken from a jewelry store display. "Here, Mia!"
Dawn glared at the little girl. "Where did you get those?"
Avery grinned. "Mommy’s jewelry box!"
Dawn buried her face in her hands. "I’m going to have a long talk with your mother after this."
Mia clapped her hands for attention. "Okay, everyone, it’s time for the vows! Uncle Kenny, you first!"
"What?!" Kenny looked around helplessly. "I didn’t even—"
Mia held up a piece of paper. "Don’t worry! I wrote them for you."
Dawn shot him a look. "Oh, this I have to hear."
Mia cleared her throat dramatically and began reading Kenny’s “vows” aloud.
"Dawn, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the most amazing, beautiful, and perfect girl in the world. Your smile lights up my day, and your eyes are like two shining stars guiding me through the darkness. I promise to always support you, cherish you, and be by your side forever. You’re my best friend, my soulmate, and the love of my life."
Kenny turned beet red. "I—I didn’t write that!"
Dawn raised an eyebrow. "Really? Because it sounds like something you would write."
Kenny threw up his hands. "I swear, I didn’t!"
Mia ignored their protests and handed another sheet of paper to Dawn. "Your turn, Aunt Dawn!"
Dawn groaned but reluctantly took the paper. As she read, her face turned bright red.
"Kenny, you are the kindest, funniest, and most caring person I’ve ever met. You always know how to make me smile, even on my worst days. I promise to stand by you, laugh with you, and love you every day for the rest of my life. You are my rock, my heart, and my everything."
Dawn crumpled the paper in her hands. "Mia, this is so embarrassing! Where did you even come up with this stuff?!"
Mia crossed her arms. "It’s called the internet, Aunt Dawn. You’re welcome."
The room erupted into awkward laughter, with Misty and May trying (and failing) to stifle their giggles.
"Alright!" Mia declared. "Now, it’s time for the kiss!"
"NO!" Kenny and Dawn shouted in unison.
Avery ran up, tugging on Kenny’s sleeve. "You gotta do it, Uncle Kenny! Mommy says that’s how weddings end!"
Kenny sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Avery, that’s not—"
Before he could finish, Mia pushed them together. "Come on, you two! Just a quick one!"
Dawn glared at Kenny. "If you even think about enjoying this, I will end you."
Kenny raised his hands defensively. "Trust me, this is not on my bucket list."
Reluctantly, they leaned in, both cringing as their faces got closer. The room went silent, everyone holding their breath. Finally, their lips brushed for the briefest second before they jumped back like they’d been shocked.
"There! Happy now?!" Dawn snapped.
Mia grinned from ear to ear. "Perfect! Now you’re officially married!"
Dawn and Kenny exchanged horrified looks as the room burst into applause.
"This," Kenny muttered, "is the most chaotic day of my life."
Dawn groaned, running a hand through her hair. "Same. And I’m going to need a lot of therapy after this."
