Mia clapped her hands as everyone took their seats, her tiny figure commanding the chaos with the authority of a general. “Alright, everyone! Sit down! Aunt Dawn and Uncle Kenny are getting married today!”

Dawn groaned, her hands clenched into fists. “Mia, this is ridiculous! I’m not marrying Kenny!”

Kenny raised an eyebrow. “And I’m not marrying Dawn! No offense, Dawn.”

“None taken!” Dawn snapped, crossing her arms.

Mia gave them both a deadly glare that could rival her mother’s. “You are! Because I said so. Now go stand at the altar before I tell Mommy you yelled at me!”

Kenny sighed, looking to Dawn for support, but she simply shrugged helplessly. “Fine,” Kenny muttered under his breath. “But I’m not kissing her.”

“Yeah, we’re not kissing,” Dawn agreed.

Mia smirked. “We’ll see about that.”

Dawn and Kenny reluctantly stood at the makeshift altar—a podium covered in glitter and fake flowers. Ash and Misty whispered to each other, while Brock struggled to keep a straight face. Drew and May, sitting off to the side, looked somewhere between confused and amused.

Mia cleared her throat dramatically, holding up a piece of notebook paper. “Before we begin, Uncle Kenny, you have to read these vows I wrote for you!”

Kenny’s face drained of all color. “You wrote what?”

“Vows! It’s what people say when they love each other and wanna get married,” Mia explained like she was teaching kindergarteners. She shoved the paper into Kenny’s hands. “Read it!”

Kenny hesitated, glancing at Dawn, who shook her head in silent warning. But Mia’s glare was enough to make him sigh in defeat. “Fine.” He cleared his throat and began to read, the words sounding more ridiculous with each syllable.

“Dawn,” Kenny started, his voice dripping with sarcasm, “from the moment I first laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one.”

Dawn pinched the bridge of her nose. “Oh, for Arceus’ sake...”

But Kenny wasn’t done. “Your sparkling eyes remind me of the stars, and your smile is brighter than the sun. Every moment with you feels like a dream come true.” He paused, looking mortified. “Do I really have to keep going?”

“Yes!” Mia chirped. “Keep going, Uncle Kenny!”

Kenny groaned and continued. “You are the peanut butter to my jelly, the Pikachu to my Ash, the light of my life, and the reason I wake up every morning. Without you, I am nothing.”

Ash snorted so hard that Misty had to elbow him to stop. “This is so awkward,” Ash whispered, and Misty nodded in agreement.

When Kenny finally finished, he shot Mia a glare. “There. Happy?”

Mia beamed. “Very! Now it’s Aunt Dawn’s turn!”

“Wait, what?” Dawn spluttered as Mia shoved another piece of paper at her.

“These are your vows! Read them, Aunt Dawn!”

Dawn reluctantly unfolded the paper, dreading what was written. She scanned the first line and groaned. “Mia, this is ridiculous!”

“It’s romantic!” Mia protested.

Dawn sighed and began to read, her cheeks turning redder with each word. “Kenny, you are my everything. You are the wind beneath my wings, the hero of my story, and the love of my life. Without you, my heart would be empty, and my days would be gray.”

Kenny coughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. “Wow, uh... thanks?”

“Your laugh is like music, and your kindness lights up the darkest days,” Dawn continued, struggling to keep her voice steady. “You are my partner, my best friend, and the only one I want to spend forever with.”

Brock leaned over to Ash and muttered, “Is it just me, or is this starting to sound like a soap opera?”

Finally, Dawn folded the paper and glared at Mia. “There. I said it. Happy now?”

Mia clapped enthusiastically. “That was beautiful, Aunt Dawn! Now, Uncle Kenny, Aunt Dawn, you may kiss!”

“Absolutely not!” Dawn and Kenny said in unison.

But before they could protest further, Avery popped up with her mischievous grin. “If you don’t kiss, we’re gonna tell everyone you chickened out!”

“Yeah! And we have real wedding rings!” Mia added, holding up two small velvet boxes with actual rings inside.

“Where did you even get those?!” Dawn asked, horrified.

Mia just shrugged. “Mommy helped.”

Kenny sighed, looking to Dawn for help. “What do we do?”

“We survive this and ground both of them for life,” Dawn muttered.

Reluctantly, they leaned closer, both grimacing as they prepared for the world’s most awkward kiss. The crowd of kids erupted into cheers as their lips barely touched.

“There! Happy now?” Kenny asked, pulling away as quickly as possible.

Mia grinned. “Perfect! You two are officially married now!”

Chaos erupted as the kids celebrated, while Dawn and Kenny exchanged a look that said, Never. Again.

As the kids celebrated their victory, the last thing Dawn and Kenny expected was the flash of a camera. They froze mid-step, turning to see Johanna—Dawn’s ever-so-doting mother—standing in the doorway, her phone raised and snapping photos like a paparazzo at a celebrity wedding.

“Oh, Dawn! Kenny! How beautiful!” Johanna gushed, her eyes shimmering with happy tears. She clasped her hands together dramatically. “I always knew you two would end up together someday! And this ceremony—so romantic!”

Dawn's face turned as red as a Magmar. “MOM! This isn’t real!” she shouted, waving her hands frantically.

“Yeah!” Kenny chimed in, equally panicked. “It’s just the kids messing around! We’re not married!”

Johanna lowered her phone just slightly, smirking. “Oh, sure, sure. That’s why you’re both dressed up and exchanging vows like it’s the most magical day of your lives.” She pointed at the rings on their fingers. “And look, real wedding bands! You’re practically glowing!”

Dawn tugged at the blue gown, glaring daggers at Mia. “Mia made us do this! She wrote the vows! And the rings—wait, where did you even get those rings, Mia?”

Mia gave an innocent shrug, her face the picture of guiltlessness. “They were Mommy’s spares. She said it was fine.”

“Mom’s spares?!” Dawn echoed in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Johanna was still taking pictures, circling around them like a wedding photographer. “Oh, the way Kenny’s holding your hand! Such chemistry!”

Dawn glanced down, realizing Kenny was still gripping her hand from their earlier vow exchange. She jerked it away, blushing furiously. “He was forced to hold my hand! This is all fake, Mom!”

Kenny raised his hands in surrender. “I swear, Mrs. Johanna, this wasn’t our idea!”

But Johanna wasn’t listening. “I need to send these to your father! He’s going to be so thrilled. Our little girl is finally settling down! And with Kenny, no less! Oh, what a match made in heaven!”

“Please, don’t send those!” Dawn begged, lunging for the phone, but Johanna skillfully sidestepped her.

“Oh, I already sent them,” Johanna said with a sly smile. “I might’ve also uploaded a few to the family group chat. You’re welcome.”

“MOM!” Dawn yelled, burying her face in her hands.

“Congratulations, you two!” Johanna continued, ignoring her daughter’s protests. “This is just the start of your happily-ever-after!”

As Johanna walked away humming the wedding march, Kenny sighed and muttered, “Well, this is officially the most awkward day of my life.”

“You’re telling me,” Dawn groaned. She turned to Mia and Avery, who were high-fiving in the corner. “You two are grounded for the rest of your lives.”

Mia smirked. “Totally worth it.”

Avery chimed in, “Yeah, best wedding ever!”

Dawn and Kenny exchanged a look of mutual exhaustion. They’d survived Mia’s chaos, but the pictures? Those were a whole new nightmare.
